We were in an excellent SUV for years and this summer had an emergency with it and we needed to trade in for something else. While it sucks and we miss "her" dearly, it is exciting to get something "new" (always used - us too!) and go on to the next chapter, so to speak.

I’m an suv person too. I found a Nissan Pathfinder 2014 with only 25,000 miles. It tows great! Congratulations on your new to you new vehicle!

Given the distances and terrain that you cover, having a higher towing capacity will vastly improve your towing experience, safety, and the longevity of your vehicle. I always thought that the SOL was maxing out the towing capacity of your Pilot. Thank you for sharing this with your followers!
So many people don’t understand the various terms related to towing capacity: dry weight, tongue weight, GVWR, GVCR, etc., so they think their existing vehicle can tow their trailer. For those who buy a tow vehicle, they rely of the dealers’ knowledge. Sadly, I suspect that some (many?) car salespersons either don’t understand towing capacity, or sell vehicles that are at the upper limit of towing capacity for what the purchaser really needs.

So so awesome! I won't say what you have, but I have the same one, only mine is a 2011 and I absolutely love it! It is such a comfortable ride, very happy for you! I got lucky in 2020 and mine had 30,000 miles on it which is low for a 2011. Safe and happy travels to you and Pippa!
You're going to love having this! I was also hauling my Horizon with a V6 and it handled fine, but high wind and cars flying past on the interstate got a wee bit sketchy! We upgraded to a Tahoe and love the extra room and power 💪

My youngest works on cars, he tell us to make sure, change oil every 5000 miles, change filters at that time and belts 1 to 2 years if putting alot of miles all the time on car and tolling with it. The car should last alot more in the long run.

I like cloth seats better too! Cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter. When you have leather seats, you need seat warmers and coolers. It makes little sense to me - other than image.

I have used my 2 SUV's to tow my camper trailer for years. I love taking it camping because everything is covered. All I drive is SUV's. They can do about anything a truck can do in my opinion.
Yup a lot of full size suvs have the same engine as their comparable truck within each brand
Im curious on gas mileage on a V8. We have an V6 SUV thats 4x4 lifted slightly etc and it eats gas more than we'd like coming from someone whose only owned sedans before. So we dont take our SUV out cept to go camping in the backcountry
I haven’t towed enough with it to give a good answer. My first trips with it though were about 13.5mpg while towing. Daily driving has fluctuated between 17-22
