- So you’re in the market for a minivan. And let me guess; you’re debating between the Honda Odyssey and the Chrysler Pacifica. Both are excellent choices but I prefer the Pacifica; it has superior styling, a smarter interior and a plug-in option, how cool is that? I last reviewed the Pacific Hybrid a couple of years ago when it first hit the market but here’s what’s new and what you should now before purchase.

Love our 2018 Pacifica Hybrid and daily drive as much as I can for my commute. It's the vehicle that has convinced me to go electric for my commuter ride. Never had any issues with it even after multiple long trips through mountains, highways and city driving. The best we had with MPG was around 52 when we first got it and only drove short distances so mostly electric. 2 months of garage renovation meant not bothering with charging overnight. Full hybrid mode meant MPG dropped to around 28MPG and we are back up to around 42MPG on daily use.
Great van and absolute recommend.
Steve your videos are always well presented, full of useful information and also supported by your pleasant attitude. You have a voice that makes DJs jealous. I'm not interested in a hybrid but I watched knowing it would a be a quality video.
I love our 2020 Pacifica Hybrid. The plug in feature is awesome. Some days we never use a drop of gas. I wish the new Sienna was plug-in. The deals are more abundant with the Pacifica than the Sienna. We got $9k off MSRP.
9K? How can that be possible? Could you tell me where you got your car?
@@Dronetothetop Those deals are long gone. Supply is dwindling.
Had one as a rental a few weeks ago. Coming from daily driving an S8, I loved it. Roomy and comfortable, but the doors were glitching. Sometimes wouldn't open and even in cold weather I got a "door overheating" warning.
Chrysler products are POS, only rent never buy is the lesson here
Onoff314 not true
Steve been watching your reviews for years keep it up 👍🏾❤️✌🏾
Awesome thank you!
Great video Steve!! Greetings from Argentina!
How you been?
Steve Hammes New Car Reviews I’ ve been great Steve, thanks for asking! I hope you have a merry christmas and a happy new year!!
Good review... I do think it’s a Lil bland though.. but these minivans are good highway mile eaters... Chrysler has always been competitive with its minivans
Bland ?
Also no spare tire. Chrysler needs to work on getting one of those three back. Chrysler also needs to nail quality & reliability which will affect resale value. Be sure to milk Federal, State, & Utility rebates.
@Steve Jones ZF is a lost cause above 8 speeds. No amount of software wizardry is going to fix that junk. I'd say switch to Aisin but that 8 speed is still questionable.
Ivan Vojt no one cars about reliability. No one cars about reliability other than Toyota.
Thanks for the great look at a cool machine! Love this car, except for the fact that it’s so expensive, and don’t know if I’d be able to look past the poor reliability ratings. I also wish minivans in general hadn’t fallen victim the the bloat that has affected most vehicles, but I know I’m in the minority there.
All valid points. But give Chrysler credit for continuing to innovate.
Steve Hammes New Car Reviews Absolutely! Agree completely, especially in a segment that I have always felt should be more popular. I have never understood the “I’ll never be caught dead in a minivan” thing. If they were smaller, I’d have bought one years ago. Too big for the wife and for the “open the hatch and be able to walk around the car’s perimeter inside the closed garage” test.
Why does Google say it had the highest tow capacity for it's class..but u say Chrysler doesn't recommend towung
For the hybrid model.
I always think mini van is cheap n garbage especially Chrysler's. but local dodge use that one shuttle and so surprise. Much more better than dodge mini van & journey.
Worst reliability of all the vans! Good luck after 3 years.
This is the best van on the market tho. I wouldn’t base anything off reliability because that tends to result in boring cars.
Actually, I was thinking the Sedona ;p
Or a leftover Quest?
@@stevehammes Would be very surprised if those still exist on the dealer lots.
chicobear They’re gone, for sure.
