My prediction since 2016 is that every two years a car flips. 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022 we’ve had a car go upside down in a crash, and every year in between there hasn’t been one. At some point in 2024 we’ll see car upside down.

That's a long shot, they're 46 points behind at the moment. That would also require K-Mag scoring points regularly, which i don't see. I think Haas are gonna score more points than Aston Martin, but it won't be enough to catch them imo.

Mathematically speaking Oscar is the most consistent driver after 14 races this year other than drivers whose results are consistently bad (Bottas). This is at least in part because Oscar’s worst result is far better than anyone else at the top.

Looking forward to Monza and especially Singapore where hopefully Ferrari can excel. With regards to McLaren Piastri has improved but seems like every prediction for second half of the season is he’ll pass Norris. I think they’ll be close but I still predict Lando will finish ahead he still has the pace just needs to fix his starts

I'm actually a little surprised with so many saying Piastri will catch Norris this season. I am more of a Piastri fan and do believe he has a higher ceiling but I must admit people are underestimating Lando. Lando has been consistently good enough to be second (even though he should be winning)

I think there’s a lot of people doubting Norris right now, and I think that is somewhat unwarranted. A few bad/unlucky races doesn’t change the fact that Norris is rapid. My prediction, he will finish second in the championship, though I think Hamilton could beat him if the Mercedes keeps getting better.

I believe they have the first week and the last week available for work, but the two weeks in the middle are closed off to any and all things work related.

The people calling out Peter WIndsor for lying about red bull in the recent chinwag were right, I don't like when Peter Windsor makes massive accusations and says "Oh it would explain X and Y if a team was doing this thing, therefore they ARE doing it". Imo it would be a cool technology to allow in F1 though.

We've been told that the FIA has a team of engineers trying to poke holes in the 2026 regs so it makes sense that when they close 2026 loopholes they would also close the same loopholes for 2024 and 2025. But making a video about Red Bull caught cheating is going to generate a LOT more clicks and $$$.
The problem with Bottas at Sauber is that his strongest traits at Mercedes was his qualifying and consistency, while his weaknesses were wheel-to-wheel racing and pulling out a worldie drive. At Mercedes this was great because there was very rarely other cars near them, and he didn't need a miracle to get consistent podiums. At Sauber though, there are no points for finishing 15th at every race, or outqualifying your teammate by half a second but still being 17th. Zhou will at least pull off a miracle and push the points with an 11th, but Bottas' consistency isn't doing anything for the team pointswise. He got close in Spa but a bolder driver (like Russell) would have stayed out for the last 6 laps on those dead tires, all or nothing, whereas Bottas came in for the guaranteed 15th place.
My boy George getting slept on. Lewis won 1 race, George really should've won 2 maybe Silverstone too. Yes they werent fully on pace but still.

His Singapore crash lowered his stock in the eyes of a lot of people. Consistently outperforms Hamilton who takes the limelight because he has a very obsessive and assertive fanbase, to say the least

I do think that for the rest of the season, Oscar will be asked to/volunteer to let Lando ahead for the championship - especially since Lando (eventually) yielded to give him the win in Hungary
I think that will only happen if Lando actually starts to catch up on Max and has an okay chance to become WDC, otherwise they will let them race

Love Lando as a driver and he seems like a nice chap. But I do feel in the last year or two he has let his head get too big, all over social media every week you see him busy with stuff out of the sport, and with guys like Max and Oscar are more dedicated to Racing and that's all they are focused on. So I think in time Oscar probably will start beating Lando consistently. But you never know, Lewis used to get the same hate for doing to much off track and he certainly shut all of the haters up, but he was already a champion in F1 at the time.

American here. I'm a believer. Oscar is a serious future WDC threat. I think the two drivers on the grid who don't have a title yet who have the best odds of winning one soon are him and George. Lando and Charles are fast but both lack something mentally. Sainz could've done it in the right car but that ship has sailed. Yuki and both of the French drivers are good but they're not championship material. Checo, Bottas, and Danny are all headed to the glue factory, and Nico will be driving a flaming dumpster until Audi get their poo in a group. No one else without that trophy already on the wall is a real threat under any circumstances.
@@sheldoniusRex I’m absolutely an Oscar supporter as well. I’m English and I vote for him in the banger categories when I feel he’ll do well but Tommo always puts it down to the Australians. He has all the makings of a champion in my eyes but we just need to hope he can get a car that will allow him to fight for it through an entire season.

@@Bobby09LFCYeah, George is a much more serious threat to any championship battle than Lando is, you can even figure that out by his driving style, and I reckon that the next title fight in 2025 will be given between Oscar and George, regardless of how crazy that might sound right now, but the trajectory is pretty clear, McLaren and Mercedes are advancing at a rate that Red Bull can’t match and Max will have to outperform his car from now on in order to even have a chance at winning races, Lewis will move to a (for now) underperforming Ferrari, I see him more as a threat in the new set of regulations in 2026 when the reds will probably figure something out, and Oscar is quickly closing the gap between him and Norris, if he hadn’t already done that, but the thing is that next season will be a banger and the end of this one will probably leave us with a cliffhanger

Lando’s win this year tops Oscar’s by a long way. Beating verstappen in Miami, means it could be more than a tenth between lando and Oscar. Both can prove a lot in the future tho.
You mean the win he was gifted on a golden platter in a race where he had the fastest car? After he jumped the field to net P1 after a very lucky safety car? After Max was struggling with his car (losing pace and tyres to the McLarens due to setup issues) and then making a mistake and damaging it? After Lando got dropped down to 6th at the start?
@RockSolitude Norris dropped to P6 because of Perez's wild move at the start, so arguably he just got back the positions he lost and then some
The Lando hate is unreal. He’s so much faster than Oscar every race. Dominates when it comes to tyre management, he’s way ahead in the quali head to head. Even when Oscar beats him, on track Lando always has better pace.

This Alonso slander needs to stop. It’s obvious Alonso is trying different things with his car setup to develop that tractor whereas Lance is given the safe setups because he’s incapable of providing valuable feedback. Even with the experiments, Alonso has double the points. Lance isn’t even close.

An older spec car won’t help Checo, the gap stays the same no matter the car, the field has just caught up.
Absolutely love your vids, and I cheer when you pop up on F1 podcasts! That must be a blast! But your skills on visuals drops off a bit in the SFX dept. The effect you use when a picture comes up is just wrong. I used to work in BBC radio, and I'd advise something more subtle, like a short swipe fx, but not like a bee shouting just before it gets stepped on.
Literally the only thing I'd change. Love 100% of everything else you do.. so really small thing.
before doing these predictions is it not fair to the drivers to first hold a pole who is your audience like who is the fanbase on this channel? i think that removes any possibility of flawed results

As a McLaren fan, it pains me how the team continuously screw themselves over and destroyed Lando's chances (if not already) of a world championship title - even Charles could overtake with points at this rate!
Imagine the prestige of winning both the constructors and drivers championship - these opportunities seldom come along and are fleeting - McLaren must get a grip on their strategies, radio communication and team orders!
If Lando is slower than Piastri after so many time racing in F1, he isn't disserving a title of World Champ in my opinion. Even though I am partially a fan of Norris, but hey seeing him failing one race after another so frustrating , compare it to Max when he was fighting against Lewis, Max was a machine it was so existing to look at him.
when for Lewis the hope to fight was the Merc engine to get to the level of RB. Max really disserved that little luck he had in the end even thought if Lewis had at a time better racing fighting skills to that point he had a chance to take WC. So does Lando really disserves a world title? I don't know exactly what is the right answer but it doesn't looks like it, as a result Max is a better racing driver and if just maybe Piastri had more experience, we could see a fight of Piastri vs Max but Piastri isn't as experienced as Max. but overall hey its so great to see McLaren in a top form like it been in the past.
of course if you're a Norris strong fan, you want him to win no matter what even if he doesn't disserve it, its understandable.

The thing is Lando is not "slower than Oscar after so many time racing" he has far more points than Oscar, that's why he is way ahead of him in the divers championship rating - this speaks for itself - he is 2nd to Max!

As much as i'd love to see Haas score some solid points, given Alonso being Alonso i'd doubt they would consistently take points off him. Hulk being above Stroll though, yeah that's pretty much a given. No Stroll hater here, i kinda got a soft spot for the guy but his performance hasn't been great ever since racing point became AM. I do think Oscar will overtake both Ferraris. I'm a biased AF McLaren fan but he's so damn calm and collected, that compared to the Ferrari stress-driven shitshow just gives me the feeling he will overtake them. Especially given the big and seemingly reliable gains in car performance made by McLaren.

Nah the overhyping of Oscar is acc at an all time high. All this talk about Oscar outperforming Lando and then first race back, Dunked on by half a second and gapped in the race by a whole pit stop. And you can race Lando got a shit start whatever, so did Oscar. Oscars a great driver don’t get me wrong, and I think he’s gonna achieve everything he wants in F1, but don’t let your judgement on him span over the last 4 races of the first half of the year. Cos Lando has for sure been the far superior driver of the 2 and I won’t let him being taken out and gaslit to give up a win change my mind. I have a bad feeling Oscar is being over hyped and he will disappoint alot of fans for the rest of the season. Oscar is on his way to being a great driver but I haven't seen him being on the level of drivers like Max or ham. I think he will get 1 more race win (or get very close) but no more than that. Norris is also the better driver overall rn, he just needs to figure out the second phase of his starts and the first corner and he will get again be up there with verstappen in the best driver conversation.
No one is saying he’s on the level of Max or Hamilton yet mate. Simply an observation that he carries himself a lot better than Norris does and that he has very good potential. I wouldn’t jump to the idea that Norris is outright the better driver either. Norris has a massive ego problem that he needs to sort out, Piastri seems a lot more level-headed.
@@Verziroo I wasn't saying that Oscar is on the level of ham or verstappen, but a lot of people are implying that he is at their level. I wouldn't say Norris is an outright better driver just a little bit overall and is also more experienced. I will agree that Oscar seems a little more level headed with a good amount of potential (don't know about wdc potential yet) but IDK about Norris having a massive ego although he definitely does have an ego.
It is weird seeing how Norris has been viewed since his Miami win as he's gone to being a great driver who finally got his win, to an unlucky driver, to now an overrated driver in only a view rounds. It will be interesting to see what happens the rest of the season as I think Norris needed this break mentally and McLaren as a team has fumbled away races just as much as the drivers have if not more.

@@RockSolitude We'll see about that but if Spa was anything to go by. I wouldn't hold my breath. He didn't put up much of a fight with the guy he thought he was battling for the championship (until the weekend before) and his lack of ambition for going after the "limping" Leclerc was rather obvious... the drive of a title contender with the fastest car on the grid at his disposal this was not. And his body language in recent media appearances speaks volumes.
If you had to characterize it, what would i be? A guy who came out swinging, doing his damnedest to put the young whippersnapper in his place or someone who has mentally checked out at a team that made it abundantly clear that they do not back him for champion and chose to throw 7 points to the rival instead? (Make that 8 points if you want to include the sprint in Austria, when McLaren should have made "the call" already)
Before you say, "Ah, but those 7 points don't matter, surely the title race was never in the cards," remember that McLaren have won and lost titles by 1 point (or less) on as many as four occasions... and in 2000 Mika came back hard at The Michael from being behind by more than 60 points (converted to the current point scoring system) at the halfway point... they really should know better.
