Your clips: Teacher, Teacher I Speak Astronomy Vortex Pisces So glad you got to see Jinjer live! Incredible band....so tight on stage. All excellent musicians. Vlad in particular. Tati is one of the best frontmen I have seen live out of a couple hundred shows. Don't get me wrong, she is indeed very attractive, but I only think about that when looking at Jinjer's and Tatiana's IG feeds. Interestingly that doesn't cross my mind seeing her live.....her talent, both as a singer and as a frontperson, is too engrossing to pay attention to what she looks like. She really embodies the music, gets the crowd involved and moves around the stage in a way that just constantly exudes power in a way that is very rare. In his youth/prime, seeing HR (Bad Brains singer) in the 1980s is the only other person I can think of that exuded power just by standing on stage in that way. She has that "it factor" so few have. Definitely a special person in music fronting a special band and they all gel just right. Kudos to you for not just standing there the whole show holding your phone up. Life happens in front of our eyes, not a screen. Thanks for the review. Up The Irons!!!🤘
I'm so glad you got to go. Jinjer is a band that needs to be experienced live to truly appreciate their talent. You are right, Tati owns the stage. It's hard to believe such a powerful voice can come out of such a small body.
I'm so glad that you had a chance to go and enjoy them live, Ashlena. The songs which you didn't know but recorded was, 'I Speak Astromony' and 'Vortex' I suggested that you watch the official music videos, the first one is an older song of theirs, the Drummer who you'll see in the video is Dimitri, who was their previous Drummer before Vlad joined the band.

Much love from Russia!
You apologized for the sound, but given you were recording it on a phone, what you got is amazingly good. Great review, and glad you got to go! Yes, Tatiana is her name. The guy on the right is Eugene, the bass player, he's the energetic one.
As a nerd, I feel like Roman is a music nerd. He took the lead on compsing most of the songs until the most recent album where Vlad did most of the composing. Over the course of tours he seems to get burned out a bit. Eugene also does BJJ and won silver at the Abu Dhabi qualifying tournament in Kyiv a few years back. Interestingly Eugene is the second Pisces in the band and also manages.
I saw them here in Vegas a while ago at a smallish club that was packed, of course. They are amazing, aren't they? What tears at your heart is that their country is being destroyed by a war. All wars are senseless because it's the people who lose, not so much their leaders who cause the war to continue beyond any need. Of course, when I saw them was before the war.
Yes, I've been waiting for the review. Despite the parking issues you had I'm glad you really enjoyed the show. They are so good live! I saw them in Atlanta in December, it was killer. It's always worth going to see them live.

You can doubt about the sound when you see official live, producers could fix or replace it (like in Outlander). But tons of that videos from the crowd prove the quality.
Thanks for the review, I've been eager to see how your first Jinjer show went! I can tell you had a blast. You have to be in the same physical space as a band, to really feel their energy and understand what they're all about. I remember my first few concerts, way back in the 70s, thinking to myself "I can't believe I'm standing in the same space as my heroes, breathing the same air. These familiar/strange beings whose pictures I stare at on my walls while I play their records over and over." You feel like you know them because they've shared so much with you. But of course you don't--and they "can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend." But then you get in the building and feel their vibe. And if the band is really good they can carry you away. I can tell you were transported by Jinjer. For me they're the most exciting band to cross my ears in a long time. They took me by storm as few bands have done. Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Rush, Van Halen. Like the instant you hear it you're like "What the hell is this! I love it!". Jinjer are master song craftsmen. The level of synchronization between the four of them is uncanny--but it's written right into the songs. The songs are very complex compositions, but you very rarely hear any of them make a mistake or miss a note live. They're pretty much perfect live. So precise. And the energy coming off the stage is amazing. I've been fortunate to get up pretty close to them both times I saw them. The second time the people I was with didn't want to try to get up close, so I left them at the back and weaseled my way around the side until I got close on Roman's side (stage right). It was easy enough that I went back and forth from the front to the back. There were a lot of girls up there, and people in general were very friendly, ready to share a good time. I was even tempted to try crowd surfing up to the very front center, but I didn't want to leave my friends behind. It's great to be able to see Tatiana's expressions up close. She is so expressive and animated! No two performances are alike. I've only been into them for less than a year, but I've come to recognize subtle differences in the way she sings songs from night to night, from watching live videos. Something about Tati is so empowering. As a feminist, it feels good to see her owning the stage like that. It's been a male dominated field, but I'm glad to see the women coming into their own. And yes, it helps that she's super sexy onstage. It's amazing/amusing how she transforms from her mild mannered alter ego offstage to her Captain Metal superhero persona onstage. I'm glad you got to experience Jinjer live so soon after discovering them. It was like that for me, and it cemented them as my favorite band. I hope you keep going in your journey of discovery with them. There's so many great songs to find!
I think everyone in their crowd is in love with Tatiana lol. People up at the front are nice though. At one point during my first show, I looked around me and realized I was completely surrounded by women and girls. Not one guy immediately near me. All the girls were headbanging. That was a cool moment for me!
Roman on guitars (audience's left) is usually the stoic one. Eugene on bass (audience's right) is usually the more animated one. I've also never paid more than $75.00 USD for tickets. Not sure what the conversion to Canadian is.
Ashlena you should check out some of their "playthrough" videos to see the individual musicians in action. It's quite educational! Each person's part is so technical and proficient (doesn't even matter which song or musician you pick, they're all that good). Once you've had a chance to marvel at the individual parts, and then you go back and listen to the whole band play the song, you gain a whole new perspective on the songs.
Was there with my brother, I was the 53 year old guy in the mosh pit, I had my DK 'The Mentally Ill' t-shirt on. Awesome venue, great show, both bands.
Glad you were able to make it! I was supposed to see them the following night in Milwaukee, but the show got canceled/ postponed until next April due to travel issues😥 At least I saw them back in July, so life goes on. Yes, you definitely got a bad deal on the ticket. Mine was only $45 including fees, for the Milwaukee show. But, that was straight from the venue, not aftermarket. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the show. Looking forward to more Jinjer reactions in the future. Still a ton of great songs to dive into with this band. You're only at the tip of the iceberg!
Compared to most phone recordings yours was fantastic. Song was " I Speak Astronomy" that you haven't reacted to yet. I think it was Eugene, the bassist, who would have been more animated. Roman the guitarist rarely moves. He is pretty low key. But yeah Tati is the show. Glad you enjoyed it and stayed safe. Thanks for the review.❤
The "Toronto Mosh Pit" has the full JINJER set on their channel. They are so savage to see live. I wonder if NAPALM RECORDS will post some 2023 videos of JINJER? I think they are releasing a new album in 2024.
Backstory on the new album the gus started composing it while stuck in Kyiv under siege hearing constant incoming during the first months of the invasion. They say it's very heavy and melodic and I can't wait.
Hey Ash, I'm so glad you liked Jinjer, I was supposed to see them a few months ago but concert was canceled. Hopefully they come back my way soon. Props to you for going to concerts alone, I do it all the time and love it!
Did you hear how she said "I hope you got the the joke. Huh?" just before the first chorus in Pisces? I saw a video of the whole Toronto performance; before they played Pisces she said something about them playing something new--and it's been rumored that they've been working on new material for the upcoming album--then they went into Pisces, which is pretty old. She is so different from most rock stars. She has a charming freshness about her. In the song Call Me a Symbol she talks about wishing sometimes that she could be that diva for a day--but it's just not her. She's a simple Ukrainian girl who likes borscht.
The song you asked about is "I speak astronomy" I suggest you react to the live Hellfest from home version, it was during quarantine so it was live but without an audience so you can hear how good the whole band is!
I saw them in Louisville Kentucky at the Mercury Ballroom, a standing-room only venue. There were several warmup bands and all but one were, like Jinjer, Ukrainian … and loud! Jinjer hit the stage and it was concert earplug loud, painful to my ears of 62 years. So glad I had the earplugs for their awesome set! And another check in my concert bucket list! So glad you enjoyed their show!
Got my ticket for $57. Awesome show. It was so hot and packed in the front I almost ducked out before the encore but you couldn't move. First time at the Phoenix and yeah it was a super sketchy area.
im glad you enjoyed your time with JinJer. i was really curious how they would sound live, it was much more heavier than i thought it would be hehe. btw i saw them in montreal, i paid 52$ for my ticket
@@ashlenamusic live music feels so different. when they did Copycat, amongst other songs, it sounded so much better live then when i listen to it at home.
the song you were asking about is "I Speak Astronomy". and your clip cut just before the best part 😂😂 (at least for me -- i LOVE that drop, especially live) also, don't know how concert prices run in Canada ; but i saw these guys last year at a similar small-sized venue here in the US, and standard retail on the ticket was $30 US. (just FYI)
@@ashlenamusic It's a great song and the video (OMV) is excellent, great sci-fi vibes. It's from a while back, so it features their "temporary" drummer (now a sound engineer they work with on occasion) named Dmitry Kim. He's very good, both as a drummer and as a sound engineer.
-I’ve been interested in seeing this video. -Spot Hero seems like there’s so many issues with it. How do they ensure that the spots reserved aren’t taken? -It looks like you were right about in the same location I was at my first show of there’s when they were at the Fillmore in Charlotte. The only difference is, because of my slight OCD, I managed to put myself where I was directly in line with the drum kit. -I’m sure someone else has probably already said this but the song you didn’t know is “I Speak Astronomy.” I listened to this song after hearing “Pisces” and didn’t initially get into it. It was only after understanding their style and hearing it live that I truly enjoyed it. -I’m curious if you saw a lot of kids there. In the video I saw of the show, I saw one. At the show I went the week before, there were a few. As I was waiting to get in, the couple behind me had a daughter they had taken out of school early to bring as a surprise. Hearing them talk about their intrinsic plan which included arranging their other kid to be picked up after school was like something our “Ocean’s Eleven.” During the show, another kid was crowd surfed.
1st sing teacher Teacher, 2nd dong I speak astronomy (gotta do a react, they cut off thd did snd video is awesome), 3rd song vortex. 4th is picese (obviously), . Tatiana is a showman for sure. She's also not strictly a metal head. She once said if she could come out to the stage to song it would be "Jungle Is Massive". Look that song up and you'll see the difference in music taste. She is into music, not just metal. Glad you went to the show.
I paid 20€ in 2021 and 30€ in 2023, both for headlining shows in small/medium venues like this one. And they were the best shows I went to! I much prefer when bands focus on music like Jinjer instead of pyrotechnics and fancy disguises like some other popular metal bands ^^
Now, when you had get in to metal scene with female vocals..You should check out all female band Nemophila. They are maybe the most talented band in whole scene. Great musicians with amazing attitude. Official videos in their channel..Start maybe Dissension or Rise or Adabana..Official Music Videos. You won’t disappoint 🤘🔥❤️
Interestingly enough, "Pisces" was not part of their set for a few years (pre pandemic). The live session video was recorded to showcase their new drummer (Vlad- the current and longest tenured in the history of the band). With the explosion of views and reactions to the track during the pandemic, they chose to add it into the lineup. The band (including Tati) still don't think it's the strongest song from their "King of Everything" release to perform live ("Captain Clock", "I Speak Astronomy", "Sit Stay Roll Over" have been staples of the live shows even pre pandemic). It's not that the band isn't proud of their work, just that they don't feel "Pisces" translates well to the stage.
Yeah it’s definitely a slower song but the crowd loves it. They even made a joke that they were working on new music and this was a new song and then they started playing Pisces, which was funny.
Aha yeah you got that joke! I've seen a lot of live videos of Pisces, and strangely it often seems that Roman's guitar is slightly out of tune on that song. It must be something about the voicing of that chord in the intro/verse. The guitar must have to be in perfect intonation. I haven't noticed if he uses a different guitar for Pisces. As I'm thinking about it, it's one of the few things that's not "perfect" about their shows. Sometimes they play it and sometimes they don't. I don't think they played Pisces in their short set this year opening for Disturbed. Aren't you glad you went to a headlining Jinjer show instead of one of those Disturbed shows? I am!
Having done both, I would disagree. Especially when they are headlining, as they are still not popular enough to get a full setlist scheduled on a festival.

im glad you enjoyed your time with JinJer. i was really curious how they would sound live, it was much more heavier than i thought it would be hehe. btw i saw them in montreal, i paid 52$ for my ticket
Really? I was definitely expecting it to be heavier lol
@@ashlenamusic live music feels so different. when they did Copycat, amongst other songs, it sounded so much better live then when i listen to it at home.
the song you were asking about is "I Speak Astronomy".
and your clip cut just before the best part 😂😂 (at least for me -- i LOVE that drop, especially live)
also, don't know how concert prices run in Canada ; but i saw these guys last year at a similar small-sized venue here in the US, and standard retail on the ticket was $30 US. (just FYI)
Yeah I definitely paid way more. I'm sure it was about 60 bucks Canadian
I’m Polish and honestly never had a problem going to concert in any area in Europe. This is crazy
Toronto is sketchy
No. 2 Is "I speak astronomy" witch is a good one for you to react to. The official music video.
That’s the one! I loooooved that song as soon as I heard it live
It'll be up tomorrow!
I saw one kid. She was probably 5 or so.
!!!
Thanks I will check that out. She is absolutely a stage show on her own. Fabulous.
I think the sound quality on your phone was actually a lot better then I expected it to be.
haha thanks!
Donde quieres llegar?😊
I definitely am curious to hear your thoughts on Reneé Rapp, such an incredible voice!
I paid 20€ in 2021 and 30€ in 2023, both for headlining shows in small/medium venues like this one. And they were the best shows I went to! I much prefer when bands focus on music like Jinjer instead of pyrotechnics and fancy disguises like some other popular metal bands ^^
first is i speak astronomy
I fell in love with it at the show
That place looks bigger than my studio appartment. You said it was a tiny venue.
In comparison to most Toronto venues it's small lol
Now, when you had get in to metal scene with female vocals..You should check out all female band Nemophila. They are maybe the most talented band in whole scene. Great musicians with amazing attitude. Official videos in their channel..Start maybe Dissension or Rise or Adabana..Official Music Videos. You won’t disappoint 🤘🔥❤️
Fuck me, 90% of the audience watching a show through their phones...
Yup 🤦🏽♀️
Yep ...peeps is strange :)
I am!
Nothing about Monuments? :(
Habla de astronomía
Envy!!!!! Spot Hero sounds like a gimmick if they can't guarantee it.
Agreed.
120 dollars not a lot for Jinjer.
It was a resell ticket lol
You would probably have a better time seeing them at an open air festival.
Having done both, I would disagree. Especially when they are headlining, as they are still not popular enough to get a full setlist scheduled on a festival.
Pero era mentira?
Te crees que ers la unica que ha escuchado esto
Y encima saltas cancines
Auuutotime?
Se acaba y no dice nada
Creías que esa mentira?
Claro si no te mola porque poder...
Aaaa
Para criticar
What don’t I like??
