Save to say, you did a very nice job on explaining the diverence between the Competition kb; Girevoy and the Iron Cast kb; Hard Style. Subed on your Snatch explanation vid, ... or was it 🤔 the Gorilla Clean, either way, good job in all of your explanations. So if you wanna know, i'm casting, flip'm over, double 16's hard style, ... it's the rush🤗 and yeah, 16's, ... well, i'm 62 and having kb fun for just about a year. Thnx coach👍
This is extremely useful. The downward motion is really what seems dangerous about this movement, both for the elbow and the shoulder. Thank you for breaking it down like this.
I knew you through Strength Side and actually you are at the same level of competence and explanations as him. Good job! Having a channel with the correct explanations of techniques is awesome. Thank you from Italy. Ciao
Mr Salem, first of all, I love your channel, great technic videos, cleare approach to the exercises, a coach who knows his trade and a sympathetic man. Yet something has to get of my heart, a half snatch, is not resting in the exercise upwards, but when the weight comes down. As you perform it, it is a clean and press. My humble expertise in this sport 🙏. Although, keep up the good work, the great videos without show, I learned already a lot off you, many thx for that ✊🏼. Many regards from a kettlebell enthousiast from Belgium 🇧🇪
This is the best video I've seen on the lowering portion of the movement. Would you mind making a video on the landing part? I've seen flipping method and rotating method, but still not clear. I'd much appreciate it!
Thanks for your great videos and breakdowns. I was originally trained in hardstyle kb, have an HKC cert, and always got the criticism that I "threw" the bell down. I never got the trick of how to flip it over the top without the bell accelerating. I'm still not sure I understand how one does that. Can you address specifically? I also happen to have really long arms - lol. I then trained in Girevoy sport style and never fully got the rotation of the shoulder. In one video from you, I can see more clearly what I can improve on in both styles, but I'm not sure I see how in hardstyle the bell isn't going to accelerate to look like a throw as you bring it down. Thanks again. My Bulgarian bag is arriving today!!!
Hi Nota, can you share more on that question? Are you asking what is the appropriate depth on the KB Squat? If so a good place to aim for, providing you can maintain your technique is to lower down until your thigh is parallel to the floor, or slightly below. Hope that helps
@MikeSalemi well some people say good technique is a "hinge" squat where u bend over a bit with the squat. But there is also a deep squat almost to 90 degree angle at the knee
@@HarlequinFox66 Thats for the clarity. When using a kettlebll you want a more narrow stance, upright posture, and a style that resembles more of an Olympic style squat, not a hinge. If you hinge when squatting with a kettlebell, it will fall forward out of the rack position. For that type of squat, more hip dominant, better to use a barbell.
I think this is one of the most comprehensive and clear explanation about the snatch drop. Thanks for the upload.
Glad to hear you took a lot from it!
Mike and Steve Cotter are the best kettlebell teachers on youtube, period!
Thank you! To even be in the same conversation with Steve is an honor.

You're welcome! That's what I like to hear!

My pleasure! That is often where people get thrown off so happy it helped :)

what about squat depth? ive been doing deep squats on the load... no wonder my hammies and glutes are always so sore.
