I remember seeing this being torn to shreds on twitter for all sorts of reasons but to find out that on on top of that the story is horrible this just makes it 10x funnier

Rob is the most forgiving comic book reader ever and will find good in everything and when he comes out and says something is hot garbage, you tend to realize just how shitty that comic is

This story sounds like marvel is throwing anything and everything at the wall and hoping something sticks. But unfortunately for them the walls have been teflon coated.
I mean the new x men comics are pretty terrible. They’re just spinning their wheels. Literally had a dinner party for ten issues with the character destiny having the dumbest mutant ability.

At the very least we got classic Jen back. There was nothing wrong with her classic look. If anything it was more progressive than whatever the hell Marvel was trying to do with her before. I’m also glad she out of the Avengers level stuff. We need more leveled out stories. Not everything has to be a World War/Civil War/Infinity War level event.
When Rob isn't excited and just sounds normal you know it's bad.

You did say you liked how it ended so had to get the end of the tunnel. So, like Andy Dufrane in Shawshank you had to crawl through 500 yards of foul smelling s**t to make it to freedom lol. Jason Aaron could have been great for the Avenger's Book. But I feel he should have taken a short break after Thor. I feel his entire run has been operating on fumes, left over from Thor. Its a shame, really.
Yes. His Moon Knight arc and Heroes Reborn arc were a little interesting. If they would have just let him write the stories he wanted to write, it would have been cool.

@@Briansimon2 I’m iffy the celestials arc because I highly prefer Al Ewing’s version ( it made more sense to me). I’m sure another writer can modify it down the line. The Million BC Avengers was cool and should be expanded upon.

This was fun, especially knowing it wasn't a story to take seriously. Crapping on comics could become a regular thing on comics explained if you ask me. Every once in a while, give us a dumpster fire to laugh at

There are two things I like about the story. First is She Hulk goes back to her classic self, the second is that this was all planned by to T'challa and Jennifer. Funny moment from Rob at 6:31, poor rob 😂.
A little request from me to you rob, and that is can you do your review on the DC Universe versus Vampires 12 issue mini series or Dark Knights of Steel (aka DC medieval universe).

Exactly, I've noticed that too. That's the biggest difference between comics and manga (and anime). Comics are meant to go on forever, while manga and anime are meant to be finite stories (definitive character growth and permanent conclusions).

Jason Aaron’s whole run on Avengers has been hot Garbage. Can’t believe this is the same writer that wrote Thor. But what I really can’t believe is that this has gone on for over 50 issues now. I hope the upcoming Avengers/Eternals/X-Men event concludes his run on the Avengers and we get a new writer and direction

This had a little potential, but you know what, we get Sensational She-Hulk back and that is the best Hulk.
If you ask me If a Namor was the opposite sex of The current Hulk She would end up as the Queen of Atlantis , preg and ruling. I think the classic She Hulk has a lot more in common with nineties Superman who wasn't the strongest wasn't the fastest , but had dealt with Lex Luthor so many times that you could tell it rubbed off on him , and he just knew how to get around his weaknesses at that point. Could outthink his stronger opponents , and take shortcuts around his faster speedsters.

I might be wrong here, but I swear there's so many spare hulks floating around in canon that you don't need Hulk or She-Hulk for this plan, and this could all be done a lot sneakier without the avengers noticing :-/
The way you spun this makes me bummed out for the future of this story, but, I AM interested in WHY the Winter Guard did what they did.

Rob, this is the first time I'm listening to your commentary on a comic AFTER having already read it. Given that I'm just getting into on-going comics over the past year or so (Avengers and the new SWORD series), I thought I made a mistake subscribing after the past several issues of Avengers and thought maybe I should have just stuck with Marvel Unlimited. Your commentary here serves as a huge relief to hear for that reason - I'll press on with Avengers for another year (I really liked the first couple dozen of this volume)!
Any on-going series you recommend beyond the two I mentioned?
Iron man, Moon Knight, Black Cat, Venom, Hulk (written by Mr. Donny Cates, recently started), etc.

I would have had her trapped in the negative zone, and have it where the reality of enemies constantly attacking her, push her into this state, and the heroes cannot free her because she’s going berserk. Still betraying her, but, not out of malice or hate, just them not being able to.

Wow, finally a new comic that you didn't like! I only liked Jen a couple of times in her new _"Super Buff but I still have a bean"_ form. It just didn't fit. She was always a mix of braqins, brawn and agility. SO not quite as strong as her Cousin, maybe a rank or so behind normal Colossus and The Thing (Ei if they can press 75 tons, she can _only_ press 50 tons over her head), but unlike Bruce, Colossus or The Thing she was a bit more Agile, say just below the Olymipic Gymnast area, and she was a really smart (130'ish IQ) sassy chick. I wouldn't have minded if she "Hulked Out" when she was livid or her friends were in crazy danger, but all the time? Pft, I didn't like it and neither did the majority of fans. Definitely glad they switched back.
As for the story itself, it was so nice to hear you say it was trash, because it was. A bunch of the new stuff is, and you are way to kind to it (And a bunch of the older titles are too, new Marvel/DC/Image wtv doesn't have a monopoly on d-bag titles and books). I'd actually like to hear you give more feedback on trash so we can avoid it as comics are expensive as hell now for Physical Copies. You read nearly everything, so let us know about the trash too. Maybe once a week do a "Taking out the trash" video where you do a new or old comic issue/run that was just plain bad overall. Quick 3 minute recap of the story, then move on to the next piece of poop that month (Maybe it should be monthly as weekly would be a ton of work you could spend on stories that are worth our time. I'd love to see an in-depth OG SW 2 covering all the cross-overs as that is what really made the story what it was. If you just read the 12 issues it's kinda _eh._ Read everything and it's B tier, with A tier being Infinity Saga level books _imo._
Anyway, keep pumping out the vids and we'll keep watching!
Jen is definitely behind Bruce but she surpassed Thing and Colossus a while ago in a story where she fought an Elder of the Universe. It’s where we discovered that if she trains and works out as Jen then she gets far stronger as She-Hulk.
Also hard agree on the rest. A weekly or bi-weekly segment of terrible comics review would really help from someone with Robs platform.

Frankly, I never understood why they bulked up Jennifer because while it was interesting for a time the fact is that she was never a chauvinistic character design to begin with so making her less attractive really sent the message that "If you're strong then you can't be feminine". The original She-Hulk, as others have said, was quite progressive for its time since Jennifer was strong, beautiful and very intelligent.
... I thought the bigger version of her was more attractive, not less.

Yes this was a bad very contrived story. That some how Black Panther knew about Widow's plan to take She-Hulk and had prepared her (and I guess this was sort of hinted at as Jenn and Carol were going through mental training in the first book) but it was all a big stretch. Thor and Captain Marvel were really side lined. Could Dark Star really have taken down Captain Marvel that easy UNLESS this was supposed to happen? Did Black Panther know Gorilla Man was going to betray the Avengers? He risked Gorilla Man killing Tony or doing even more damage. These "the hero planned to be captured, brain washed and seemingly turned only to reveal that they were onto the villains all along" plots are so ridiculous. As you said the whole thing was to get back the old cheese cake She Hulk and definitely does not deserve to have been given such a grandiose title as WW She-Hulk.

As a non American marvel fan, I really wish they explored the superhero community OUTSIDE of the U.S. How interesting would it be Marvel got writers and artists from different countries to create heroes, or expanding on existing heroes, from their home countries
I agree. Marvel should market to different countries specifically. Hire creators from those countries with heroes from those countries...with Marvel ties. France, India, Japan and South Korea possibly? I know they have had some Asian characters recently and I read some of those. They were decent.
