It was also noticeable that leinster were much more selective when going into their attacking shape compared to h cup final when they were guilty of playing too much in their own half. I was there and it wasn’t just a rugby match. It was a full blown Occasion!!! An occasion to remember. The tries, the intensity, sheer intensity, the crowd, the atmosphere the mistakes (by all to be fair), the stadium itself. It was also the relief that slowly spread during the game as it became more and more evident that Leinster were going to do it, after the last three years being knocked out by La Rochelle.

Every member on the Leinster team played out of his skin today. They gave us such pleasure, their defence speed magnificent. At least ten of them could have gotten man of the match. James Lowe just loves his game, JGP magnificent , he was everywhere, Ross B was Mr reliability. Dan Sheehan a joy to watch and the bomb squad off the bench made us enjoy the last quarter all the more. Rest well, enjoy the win , we will love seeing you in Croke Park. Take time to heal well! That was Leinster putting the naysayers that Leinster can't cope with the bulkier teams to rest, Leinster beat them up, it was vicious. Ross Byrne was fantastic, glad they picked him again this week, he just needed to shake off the rust, everyone to the man stood up and showed what a team is all about, great game, fantastic occasion, glad I was there the last two weeks, Croke Park for the next one, maybe we can fill it, now that would have to be a record attendance for Club Rugby. Crowd were incredible today. The best Lansdowne Ive experienced as far as I can recall... 6N and autumn Ints. have been sooo dry these last years that Id forgotten how amazing 50k plus REAL FANS are. Ive been at loads of games last 20 years, many historic ones, but today was epic.The ABs game, Slam etc.were huge but today fealt special. Was incredible. Loved it, will never forget it. Happy? Walked home from the match on cloud nine. Leinster fan nerves were at full peak this week and the very thought of losing again was unbearable and in a QF to boot. When it was announced in the Stadium Keenan was out just before the match began you could hear the groans in the stand. But Leinster delivered big time and we shut their attack down again and again and they had no answer. It was a fantastic day ....and next Croke Park , home of GAA, where Cian Healey is the only one ever to have played there from this team. Epic venue and can't wait. Totally agree with your last point, Luke Pearce has been my favourite referee for some time now. He has a good feel for the game, such good communication and decision making. He seems easy to work with as a player yet he can be very decisive and direct if needed. Didn´t get to watch the game in its entirity but i also prefer Luke Pearce to Karl Dickson. Well done Leinster and a great video (as always) Tim!!
Agreed on the ref - he had a shocker throughout and it puts a slight damper on the result because Leinster would have won anyway but his performance made it look a little undeserved or just left a bad taste in the mouth.

I'll start the campaign here. Tim, you need to go to the Leinster v Saints semifinal in Croke Park! Croker, as it is also known as, is steeped in history and you should get in a tour of the museum and stadium. It will such a unique experience of us Leinster fans too, especially those of us that our also fans of the gaelics games. I cant wait!

It’s was petrifying! The nerves were huge but it always looked like a Leinster win. Leinster have a habit of toppling sides at quarter final stages, like Toulouse in 06 and Leicester in 2011. It’s really the mentality of the side to go and seize the final!
Fair play to Leinster, going into the game I was worried that it’d be a beating, Leinster the inform team with their star players performing really well (lowe,Gibson park etc) , great energy from the crowd too, after winning 2 finals I’d hope we could pull another escape but not to be.. the quality was too much. Unbelievable relief , had set of to get a pint when laxRochelle scored end of first half. And thought oh no Not again but then when second half started I think for the first time we see the benefit of JN input finally taking hold , brillant to watch , in fairness la Rochelle fans gracious after game . Just feel like a curse lifted .. Next stop Croake park which is a big deal 81000 stadium , we not normally welcome playing a non Gaelic sport . As a Leinster fan I couldn't relax until the 70th minute tbh, especially after LAR 43 minute try I genuinely thought the comeback is on in 2nd half. What a game and wow I hope it wasn't our final tho, go on and get that 5th star lads. Let's gooooo!!!
The All Black wins aside, this was my best day watching rugby since 2009 semi. It was an amazing atmosphere in the ground and just like at Croker this was special to be at it. I was at 4 finals as well, and there has been grand slams and other big days, but it is these era defining, narrative settling games that live on in the memory.
I predicted a win for Leinster but you hey to have " everything " going fright for you . Leinster did turn up with there A game . Energy sapping , bruising , & everything else Leinster deserved there win . Truly a fitting game for a quarter final .
At half time LR were still in it but this Leinster side found a new gear every time they needed it. Very happy for Rose Byrne. He's under a lot of pressure and Irish fans are quick to call for his head anytime anything goes wrong.

Best performance I've seen from Leinster. Total domination in the second half. I was afraid they might have left too many ;points behind in the first half but they were not to be stopped and just took over in the second.
Was wondering if anyone else saw the aldritt tackle before the JGP try, does nobody else think it’s a card at least, high shot, head on head, no change of height or direction, and high force, surely a red no?
Yes it feels sweet to give ROG a 27 points margin to chew on. He has plenty to say normally but this puts him back in his box. BTW plenty of yellow jerseys for sale in Munster tonight. I know LAR were trailing & had to go for points but for Leinster to hold them scoreless in 2nd half was an epic result.

Toulouse have 5 cups so they're still the number 1 side. Saints will be a tough game. Only 1 champions cup trophy in the last 12 years for Leinster. Let's see if they can win it this year to equal Toulouse's record.

Not again but then when second half started I think for the first time we see the benefit of JN input finally taking hold , brillant to watch , in fairness la Rochelle fans gracious after game . Just feel like a curse lifted .. Next stop Croake park which is a big deal 81000 stadium , we not normally welcome playing a non Gaelic sport . Last time I was there 2009 semi heniken cup Leinster v Munster which Leinster one and also the trophy will defo be there

As a Leinster fan I couldn't relax until the 70th minute tbh, especially after LAR 43 minute try I genuinely thought the comeback is on in 2nd half. What a game and wow I hope it wasn't our final tho, go on and get that 5th star lads. Let's gooooo!!!

The All Black wins aside, this was my best day watching rugby since 2009 semi. It was an amazing atmosphere in the ground and just like at Croker this was special to be at it. I was at 4 finals as well, and there has been grand slams and other big days, but it is these era defining, narrative settling games that live on in the memory.
Croke Park, 82,000 capacity for Leinster v Northampton....Bring it on, it should be great fun.
I predicted a win for Leinster but you hey to have " everything " going fright for you . Leinster did turn up with there A game . Energy sapping , bruising , & everything else Leinster deserved there win . Truly a fitting game for a quarter final .

As a Leinster fan I have to agree that the ref was on our side today BUT we have been on the wrong side of the ref many many times so I'll take it.

At half time LR were still in it but this Leinster side found a new gear every time they needed it. Very happy for Rose Byrne. He's under a lot of pressure and Irish fans are quick to call for his head anytime anything goes wrong.
Your point about refs playing advantages I echo so much. That’s something that needs to be massively clarified with the new rule changes because the length of them has been ridiculous for too long

Despite being a munster fan and a fan of o gara when a player, i was delighted he was taken down a peg here. Has a bit too much to say on a whole lot of things for my liking. Has a bit of the jose mourinho about him. Needs to learn to zip it. Well done leinster.
