I love the fact that Iggy Pop is so loved in Denmark. I´m Danish myself and Iggy Pop has played many concerts in Denmark over the years. From my perspective, Iggy Pop is one of the coolest artists in the music industry. He is still rebellious at 71, as he was when he was younger. :)
Modern music so much needs a real rock hero, who lives and breathes life. No bullshit, no fame, no music, just living it and making good music. So glad Iggy is still around.
you gotta give it to him. this man out lived Andy warhol, the 60's,even kurt cobain and iggy was an even bigger smackhead for many years!!! He's like a punk version of Kieth Richards as of this point. The "citizens surrender now lay down your weapons" thing to a pulsating bass beat is HAPPENING NOW!!!
Wow. He's so real. I've always imagined him long haired toothless. But he's a very attractive man here, sexy even. He's here 38-39, very attractive. I just watched Dead Man. What a difference.
Tak for a uploade det her. Jeg så det selv dengang i '86 (og optog det såmænd på betamax!). Fra Beatbox! Det var dengang dansk tv kunne lave lange interviews med kunstnere. I dag varer den slags sjældent mere end 90 sekunder.
He was right when he said big corporations are using old rock songs to sell their shit, just look at the whole Coles and Status Quo thing that happened.
In the Seventies and Eighties everybody used drugs. Lot of people still do. Amy Winehouse. Now... Great interview. The Stooges were an original organic proto punk band with nothing to lose and they had such intensity! I saw Iggy live in maybe 82? front, center, leaning on the stage looking him in the eye. Force of nature.
IP is smarter than DB and LR and that's not a small feat or a small statement. He should be in the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Charles Ives's spirit might beam from wherever it rests. RAW POWER. MASS PRODUCTION. MASK.
i think his comment about 'california dreamin' +his characterisation of the song are odd. although i know he was just looking for an appropriate lyrical example, that song is very melancholy, both lyrically+ musically. i don't know enough to say whether the heroin reference is accurate but if it is it makes perfect sense.
He's dead right about Elvis! (Minute 6.00) He was ruined by his manager's choices. He never questioned them, doing what he was told. He was too much of a good mummy's boy. But those were the 50s, I guess. Also, he was a conservative guy (politically wise), so he would respect authority and the established system.
This is one of the most respectful and intellectual interviewers that I've seen. It seems he is really curious about the artist's cultural agency.
True ,and with drugs ,much respect

This is him Sober. it's refreshing to see.
Not a single cringe worthy question. Great work on the interviewers behalf for getting such thought provoking responses from Iggy.
he is so well spoken
An interviewer that actually asks questions worth answering, I am impressed. Thank you. And, of course, Iggy.
Such an articulate, deep, clever guy.
What an awesome interview! Real, well worded questions and sincere and useful answers.
he's so charismatic, he's amazing!
Every interview I've seen of his...he' super nice, always respectful. Great guy. And HOT to boot.
Woaw. One of the best civilized interviews of Iggy Pop I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
Christ. I almost spit out my coffee when he said "hey mama, your baby won't shit" lol
Hurricane Jones I love Iggy. He is the best.
That is the best ! Baby diapers - Hey hey Mama ! Your Baby won't shit . . . Funny ! ! !

Thank you so much for putting this up :-)
The 'real' rock n roll deal. I read his book 'I need Moore'. Highly recommend.
¨A dangerous honesty¨. Loved that phrase.
God BLess Jimmy . . .
Cool person..... I'd be honored to play him because to me he's larger than music.
What a wonderful interview. The talk was respectful and intelligent with Iggy providing some sober insight into the process.

And then 15 years later, Iggy has a song used by Carnival Cruiselines
Him and Lou Reed are my heros
Iggy with Einstürtzende Neubauten would have been awesome.
Love how he avoids saying shit but then says fuck immediately after.
I've watched lots of interviews with Iggy. and he is consistently honest as Abraham Lincoln.
Genius. Honest. Real.
Wow. He's so real. I've always imagined him long haired toothless. But he's a very attractive man here, sexy even. He's here 38-39, very attractive. I just watched Dead Man. What a difference.
He looks as though he had matured and was fine. Clean and sober and no makeup.
So that's what he looks like with a shirt on.
he looks so different
Brilliant interview!

RAW POWER.
MASS PRODUCTION.
MASK.
there is quite a contrast between this interview and the one Tom Synder made with him, one tooth missing. anyway, iggy is god.
Chicks at the Dairy Queen. Wow.
i put on my new hat, its really cool, you should see it lol
😹🙌🏻👏👏
a happier Iggy
love Iggy, BUT, he's talking about rock music being used to sell stuff....wasn't Lust For Life used to sell cruises?
True. I give him a pass. He spent most of his career dead broke. For real BROKE. I'm giving him some money happily when he comes to Philly soon.

Daniel Simon i don't think he's referring to the original, but rather to all of the people playing it without even having a clue.

'lovely juvenile delinquents'
Why all interviewers look sooooo strange next to Iggy?
"mama, your baby won't shit..."

The interviewer looks like a Danish Jeffrey Dahmer
*IMPOSTURE!*
Iggy's career is owed to homosexual record executives captivated by his body.
