The fact that Karen Fukahara can convey Kimiko's emotions with non-verbal cues (outside of sign language) is quite remarkable for any actor. I adore her; she's my favorite character on the show, and this show has a lot of great characters to pick from.

They had genuine chemistry together. We got to see their development from the start of the series. Now, apparently their relationship isn’t serious anymore in Season 4 and Frenchie is now bisexual. Like, wtf were the writers thinking?

I do like how vague this scene kinda is, and it's a bit up in the air where their relationship goes in the next season, if it does go anywhere, but Kimiko and Frenchie are literally the only two characters I adore in the whole show

Wholeheartedly agree, truly one of the best depictions of 'soulmates' I've ever seen. A lot of fiction just tells you that two people are soulmates and expects you to just go along with it. With these two I actually see it and believe it.

Considering how cynical and nihilistic this show portrays real life people with super powers, kumiko’s text message that Frenchie read was probably one of the most real and sincere things ever uttered on this show. For a tv series with very little hope or catharsis in the characters, Kumiko is a true hero who deserves her powers because she knows she will use them for good. The Avengers would be proud of her!!!

No spoilers here.....but the new "twist" with Frenchie pisses me off, only because he and Kimiko are total soulmates.

You should see how well platonic soulmates can go if you watched the modern-day Sherlock Holmes television show 'Elementary.' Sometimes romance can be a hindrance in what would be a loving relationship.
@ice9055 I totally agree....but Kimiko seems to say they can't be lovers because of her advanced strength and Frenchie's arms are like bendy straws.....doesn't make sense when Homelander is far stronger and has no issues having sex with humans. (Although he can totally let loose with Supes)

They can't be lovers because she sees Frenchie as family like what she felt with her brother instead of seeing him as a romantic interest. This is the same thing that happened in the comics as it was beyond intimacy and one that mirrors family instead. The bendy straw comment is more about Kimko not being able to settle down due to her past, the death of her entire family, and the existence of supes always trying to kill The Boys. The difference between her and Homelander is that she would love to settle down but can't; while the latter doesn't want to settle down unless he's incapable of being stopped and his legacy is secured.

A lot of shows have moments that touch you like this but not a lot of shows are over the top and brutal like this. That’s part of what makes it jarring yet intriguing for some audiences.
