please, please, please , don't go to bed tonight and think YOU have not made a difference in someone's life by taping this video. I have gotten more comfort from you than I have from my Dr. thank YOU sooooo much
I had SVT ablation on Sept. 27. No pain after, no side effects. No brain fog, no grogginess. Did not wake up even though they had to bring me out of it a few times. I did ask the anesthesiologist to take good care of me. I have had multiple surgeries. This did not feel the same. It didn't even feel like surgery. Everything he is saying is spot on.
Thanks for the video! I am 75 years young and had a quad bypass about 20 years ago so I'm a little apprehensive. I am glad you are doing ok. I pray that you and all the viewers of this video will say a prayer for me. Keep on plugging man!
Nice video. I had this ablation done about 3 years ago. After surgery, my cardiologist informed me that the surgery went smoothly and that my SVT was cured. A few hours later, I went into wenckebach. My cardiologist was worried because my heartbeat was very irregular. If the wenckebach continued, there could've been heart damage. He kept me for close monitoring overnight. The doctors told me the next day they would put a pacemaker in. Miraculously the next morning, the wenckebach had disappeared. My doctor said there have only been 3 reported cases of this happening in the world. I left the hospital that day. Today, my heart is happy and healthy!
I'm 17 and have been dealing with SVT for most of my life. I got the ablation procedure done 2 days ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. Leading up to it, however, I was terrified due to my struggles with medical anxiety/hypochondria. As somebody who often lies awake at night convincing myself I have rabies or some sort of obscure medical issue, I can confidently say that I would 100% get this procedure done again. The IV was the worst part! The surgery took around 3 hours and after 4 or so hours of recovery I was up walking around, virtually pain free. If you are on the fence about going through with this procedure, I strongly suggest you go for it. Plus the nap you take afterwards will be the best sleep you've ever had!
@@RickyRomero805 I've been having a few issues with palpitations recently (mostly after drinking caffeine) but I think it's more likely that it's PVC rather than SVT. I need to speak with my cardiologist to confirm this though. As far as long term side effects, I do experience some very minimal nerve pain around the site every now and then, but I'm also only a year and a half post-op. My quality of life has improved so much following the procedure and I don't regret it one bit.
Super proud of you mate !!! I had my procedure in Sept 2019, can completely relate to everything you said. I was completely conscious during my procedure. I was strangely calm that whole day. It was incredible.
Again would like to say i watched this about every night leading up to my Ablation, and it helped so much. Seeing everyone's positive comments you helped a lot of people. Again he is right everyone, its not as scary as you think it is. Good luck everyone!
I was working (!!!!!!) 24 hrs after ablation for AFIB, which was a stupid thing to do, my feet were shaky, I was crazy enough to return to my business, was dizzy and nearly fainted six times. Had two horrific episodes two months after, but they say it is normal(????) Four months after - no pills, no nothing, BPM is slightly up from regular 60 to 75, but full-blast lifestyle, exercise big time, had a glass of red wine today, but the whole thing was not easy - 5 years of AFIB off and on, some of them clinically very/very/very serious. The op itself was harder than described though I am tough and face adversity as it comes - it was way harder during the procedure than sweet promises. But the staff was great, it kind of disarmed me psychologically. But its is over - at least for now. Fight on guys - thank God it is not 19th century. Not everything is perfect and all experiences are very individual, but keep fingers crosses and choose the right Doc - because it is life and death decision - nothing less than that. I looked my Doc hard in the face during the consultation and I knew the outcome in advance. May Lord protect you, Dr. K....
I'm 16 and I'm getting it done in just over a week from now and decided I'd read up about it and after watching a video stating everything that happens as well as possible side effects, I started crying and shaking and have never been more nervous. But when I watched this, I felt soooo much better! I'm still a tad nervous but hearing your story has made me feel as though it'll be alright. Thank you so, so much for this. I literally want to jump through the screen and hug you!
Thank you for sharing, as the surgery date gets closer I have been getting more and more afraid. (Whoa! Can't believe you went shopping afterwards!) Congrats on a success!
Just had the surgery yesterday, soon as they put the catheter into my heart they said i went straight into svt, the node was also on the other side so they had to cut a hole and go to the other side, even still I got to leave at the end of the day. Feeling good.
How have u been since ur ablation? I'm so scared I go in Friday and I'm freaking out. Trying all the info I can get from post ablations bc I do not want to continue to have these attacks.
@@techdaddy776 I'm not sure if this ? Was for me but as far as my exp. with my ablation although I had to get 2 , yes I would get again and I'm happy with the outcome bc I can live a normal and very active life bc of it.
@@techdaddy776 I got my first one in nov of 2019 then that one didnt "work" so I had another emergency one done in December of 2019. The reason it did not work the first time was bc I was told to not take my meds 48 hrs b4 surgery so the morning I was to go in I started having uncontrollable svt attacks so they gave me all types of medicine and it blocked the other pathway I had that they did not know about. So since then all is well except for alot of pvcs. It was worth it.
So glad I found your pre and post video! I'm having the same surgery in 5 days and I've been really freakin out. I'm one of the people that have had SVT for 25 plus years and finally doing something about it. I have always taken medicine for it until my recent visit to the ER when I could not control it anymore then had my heart stopped then restarted. Looking forward to my new life ahead of me. Thank you for easing all of our fears on following thru with the surgery.
This helped a ton! Iv had this weighing on my mind for nearly a month now. And my procedure is still a month away. I was worried about after it, and you explained it perfectly. It's so stressful on me as a15 year old because my instinct is the negatives. This really brightened my outlook. Thank you!!!
This was so helpful. I can't thank you enough for posting this. It has made our whole experience less stressful. My son Evann just turned 16 and he began to notice his while playing tennis on the school team. We have his study and abalation on June 11th at LaBonner in Memphis.
Thanks a ton!I have been looking and looking for one genuine, authentic, straight-up patient experience pre and post-ablation and really despaired of finding any!! I am really concerned about having to lie immobile for hours after the procedure, reportedly.
This video helped me to calm down a great deal. I can't thank this guy enough for posting this information. What freeked me out the the most is the thought that I was told I had to be awake. Now as long as they do not tell me that I want this done. but sad to say If I am told I will be awake. It will not go down. I pray I can exspress my concerns tomorrow morning to the nurse and they knock me out. God bless this guy!
It's unbelievable how dead on your comments regarding "swelling up" were...I am having my ablation done tomorrow morning and I am pretty freaked out, but man this helped an unbelievable amount. Not only am I more confident, but inspired to help people going through the same thing. Wish there were more people like you in this world cause what you're doing here is a great thing. Hope the SVT has gone away...sweet ink too, just sayin. Take care dude. -Eric
Thank you a million times over for sharing your positive experience! As my surgery date approaches in a week, my nerves are out of control, and most stories are a little more negative, or just down right awful to hear.
I literally cannot thank you enough for this video. I made the decision this week to have an ablation done for my SVTs due to WPW. I have an anxiety disorder and am (natch) scared out of my mind, but your video gives me so much hope and comfort! Wishing you nothing but health and happiness.
Thanks for your story. Considering this procedure, although I dont have SVT's I do have severe PVC's. Ativan, is AMAZING. One time I was having a panic attack that lasted for 5 hours along with heart palpitations, I had prescribed lorazepam (Generic which isnt as good as ativan) which wasnt even working, and I went into the ER at 10:00 at night with heart palpitations and this continuing panic attack that just would not let up. I even tried sleeping after double dosing with the lorazepam. My chest muscles were locked (after I got out of the most stressful day of work ive ever had in my life) And I couldnt sleep, I was getting pvc's, my chest was locked, I was literally shaking from anxiety, and the nurse came in with a shot of real ativan in liquid form. She stuck it in my arm, removed the needle, and started working it in with her thumb as she told me ativan in shot form is a thick liquid and needs to be spread out. And I swear to god, within 10 seconds EVERYTHING WAS GONE... No chest clenching, no shaking, no heart palpitations, everything GONE. I laid on my back in a perpetual state of bliss just feeling my body functioning normally. All I could literally think was that these people are GODS that have mastered serious medicine. And they are right to keep it under lock and key. So it leads me to think it is a condition that is not life threatening, although it may seem painful and may feel dangerous. It mostly isnt. If someone offers you to take ativan, you take it.
Thank you so much for the video. My 16 yr old son needs this done. We and he were so concerned and worried. We watched this video together and it made us both feel so much better. God Bless You.
Thanks for posting this. My doctor first told me about this 10 years ago, but it wasn't til about a year ago that I felt my symptoms made it worth it for me. I have been stalling for about a year. I finally decided to do it and am so glad I did. You are so right that it's a cakewalk. But, I was awake through my whole procedure but with the drugs they gave me I really didn't care what they were doing. The "burning" didn't hurt just felt as intense as walking on hot sand.
Thanks man I’m going for mine on August 10th a little nervous because my doctors said mine is going to be a little bit more difficult because I have been in AFib for a few years. But watching your video made me feel a little bit better. Still nervous but in the long run I know I need this because all the test I have been going for is showing that my heart is getting weaker. So I have to man up and get it done.
@@raff23able Actually went for my first one and in three months went back into Afib not as bad but my doctor wanted to do another one which the first one i was nervous so this one i was still not on board right away but my doctor was pretty sure the second one would fix it. so i went and did it in May of 2022 and now 6 months later my heart is beating normal and also getting stronger so it was worth it.
@@johnlogan5297 great to hear !!! This is the hope that I need … thank you … and hope this keeps you in that sweet NSR for an extremely long time ! Been a bit of hard time for me being diagnosed and now on a load of medications sucks … so appreciate the hope 🙏🏽
Thanks for the video...i go in Monday a.m. for this procedure. My Dr. has made me feel very confident about this and I have no worries. This just was icing on the cake to hear someone who has done it and their experience. TY
Hey Dude, I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I watched it several times to give me the confidence to move forward with the ablation. I had the procedure done today and it was exactly as you said. The procedure went smooth and I can honestly say that I would much rather get an ablation than go to the dentist, if i had to do it again i would not hesitate at all. As soon as they gave me the meds I felt sleepy and next thing you know I am waking up and feeling great, didn't feel a thing. Like your self they couldn't trigger the SVT but they could see where the problem was in my heart so they ablated the pathway as well as some parts with atrial flutter. I was given and 85% success rate probability which i will take any day. I got my ablation done at UCSD Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center in La Jolla with Dr. Gregory Feld one of the pioneers of the procedure.. I highly recommend looking him up. Anyway, I feel really good right now just several hours after the ablation and again thank you for posting this video it helped me get the guts up to get it done. Thank again!!!!
Thank you so much for posting this. I have mine scheduled for January 4th and am naturally nervous. They way you described yourself before the procedure is exactly how I picture myself.
I'm scheduled for this Friday, and I cannot tell you how scared I am. Especially being so young,15. This has calmed my nerves so much! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :)
thanks so much for posting this. I am due to have the ablation for WPW in a few weeks to get rid of my SVTs. I have been worrying about it, but after watching yor video and speaking to people in forums i feel alot better about having it done and i just want to get my life back to normal or even better then how it is at the moment. Hope you are doing well!
Hey Brother, just wanted to say a Big Thank You for helping me get through my ablation. The videos you made gave me alot of strength and encouragement. I felt the same way you did beforehand (SICK), I was so shakey before they took me back my teeth were chattering. The Doc only gave me a mild dose of drugs, so I was awake and remember the whole thing---though it did calm my nerves completely. As soon as he inserted the catheter---I went into SVT, AVNRT---he popped it 7 times and it was gone.
Just so that everyone knows there are several different kinds of Ablations. I had an ablation for Afib and Aflutter and I thought it was going to be like this. Although it was not too bad it was in no way like this man's experience. I had to stay overnight, had a bladder catheter put in while I was asleep, and felt out of it for a few days. I did not experience much pain, just soreness and feelings of grogginess. Overall it was not a bad experience but I was definetly not able to go shopping the same day. I was pretty much in bed either at the hospital or at home for about 3 days. I am now on day 5 since the ablation and still feel a little sore around the insertion sites and am bruised there very badly. I have had very few Afib episodes since the ablation but my doctor said it would not be uncommon to have them for about 3 months after. I am praying that all is fixed. Anyway I just didn't want anyone to think what I thought - that I'd be up and about the same day. It was tougher than I thought it was going to be but overall not too bad. Had I not thought it was going to be so easy I probably would not have thought it was very difficult at all. I had reconstructive knee surgery in high school that was worse than this, but this was not walk in the park. God bless to anyone who is reading this and might be having the procedure soon. It isn't too bad and in my opinion the possible reward outweighs the difficulty of the procedure.
@@bigrevkev55 that’s great to hear and thanks for the response ! I’m new to afib and I’m persistent afib. I’m hopefully to one day be free of afib and the medications associated. Long may your treatment be a success 🙏🏽
Thanks for posting.. For YEARS, I have been told it's "anxiety", "depression" etc. etc. etc. I finally got a diagnosis for it recently, and was offered the beta blockers, which cause fatigue.. So I am scheduled for my ablation on June 10.. I'm actually pretty stoked about the fact that I will no longer have to leave early from work because my heart has gone into thermo nuclear meltdown.
Yeah I have mine in a few days. Haven't been really too freaked out except lately. lol .. Your video has put me at ease. I guess I am not the only one having all of the emotional reactions to the possibilities. I will be thinking of what you said when I go under ... Thanks again for your brave synopsis.
I had the procedure done November 24 2012 at the Cleveland clinic in Fla. It was a successful ablation but, remember it takes time to heal the heart. I really started feeling my old self after about six months. I don't buy the three month window. It takes more time. I have to say after the procedure I never had a episode of afib again but, my heart did act up for some time. After many talks with my EP doctor he reassured me it would clear up and it did. Do your homework when finding a doc.
What an uplifting speaker you are! Thank you for sharing your experience. I may be having an ablation done in the future and you have just made it a lot easier to think about!!! Thank you kind sir :)
Thank you SO much for posting this. I am having the procedure on this Thursday, and I have been having anxiety attacks over it. I feel a lot better after watching this video. Again, thank you!
I had by ablation surgery on March 29th and all went well. I'll shoot my own video, too. I want to thank you for the information you provided in this video. It helped me a lot. Not only away I calm through the entire experience, but I was able to communicate much better with hospital staff. I hope you are doing well. I also went home same day and I feel fine.
I just had my ablation today, well Monday August 13th. Like you I was nervous as hell and a little scared. When I woke up I was expecting to feel everything you described, but I didn't. I felt great! Tired, but normal. It's about 12 hrs post surgery and still feel great. The Dr said he was able to get my heart to go into SVT so he could ablate the right area, so hopefully I won't ever have to go through those uncomfortable SVT's again. Thanks for sharing this video!!
Had mine two weeks ago. I had some other side affects. I didn't quit bleeding for 15 hours but still kicked out next am. Still doing good. The staff that does this is amazing and just know you will walk out sore but doing better.
What a difference in the two videos. You look super healthy in this one. Thank you for being honest with your anxieties. I've noticed your procedure was done in 2012 and nothing else posted. I'm going to assume you are cured.
Thanks for the info. I am terrified of having this procedure. But your post does make me feel more at ease. I work in Maternity so you would think I could trust my fellow health care workers. hope you continue to do well.
God Bless you for posting this video, I had ablation for AFib Sept,2011 (completely succesful). But now Ive got a flutter so going back in for 2nd Ablation this. My cardiolist said it won't be anything like the 1st one and will be much quicker. After watching this video I know now I have nothing for fear. So again, thx, GMG Ireland.
Thank you for posting this. I have been crying everyday since i have been diagnosed. I am very concerned about the ablation. How have you been since? How are you today?
I can definitely relate to this. Although I can't answer the last few questions since I only just had the ablation procedure done 2 days ago, I hope I can answer some of your questions about the procedure. Coming from someone who is the biggest wuss, this procedure was so much more manageable than I expected. The anxiety and the IV are truly the worst parts. Since the experience is still fresh in my mind, feel free to ask any questions and I'll try my best to help. 3 days ago I was in your shoes but now my whole perspective has changed.
@@oliviaw6397 Thank you Olivia, My ablation is scheduled for this Tuesday. I am calming down. I have two aunts that are praying for me. I feel my doctor is spot on confident. I asked him a ton of questions and he gave me good answers. Now its time to get it done. Thanks so much for you being there for questions.
@@oliviaw6397 I made it through. I am just a little sore. I had the best team. The nurses were very caring. The anesthesiologist even played one of my favourite songs right before he put me out. I thank you and videos like this for making me feel better about the operation. God bless you.
Thank you,. This is giving me some reassurance. Im due to have an ablation for an extreme amount of PVCs and SVTs, and I have a mechanical aortic valve , but I'm scared crappless over this procedere. But this helps me.
thank you... mine is next Thursday... I have open heart surgery mitral valve repair in 2006, then a week later then three strokes, then 1 week later a VTAC... then a nervous breakdown... then ME/CFS and 18 months ago the SVT started and have gotten to the point where they have robbed my life again... Thanks...
h having one done in 2 hours from now. I'm 36 years old and have atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular rate heart rate went up to 268 beats a minute the first time. ready to get off of all the meds after 10 years!
Having the procedure done tomorrow, your video is by far the most reassuring. I've been terrified, despite being told over and over again that it's a "minimally invasive procedure."
My father had an ablation. He said he went through three hours of agony. They stopped eventually acknowledging that they had not fixed the problem. He was given three shocks during this ordeal for an unexplained reason. He recalled being woken up after last shock and asked where he was, his name and birthdate. To me, that sounds like he was clinically dead. They check to see if there has been any brain damage. He was not sedated during this procedure unlike the uploader of this video. Afterwards he said that he would commit suicide before going through that again.
My SVT catheter ablation is scheduled for tomorrow. I watched several videos and did a lot of research. While I am not fearful at all about it, it was helpful seeing your video because I felt your video was on my level. Wish you posted another one to update us on how you are doing now.
I'm considering this surgery, but I need to get a consultation. Thank you for posting your experience, it helps ease my mind and understand how the procedure will go. :)
I have been dealing with both SVT and another heart rhythm problems since september 2014. It has been a nightmare with all of the ER trips, heart monitor, etc. To make matters worse, my beta blocker and digoxin that I am on only has about a 50% chance of actually working. The next step is obviously ablation surgery. I have been sort of stressed out about what to do. This video has kind of helped me feel a bit better. I am glad that it went well for you. It's re-assuring for me too. Thanks for the video.
I just had a heart ablation surgery yesterday. I watched your story before I went into the hospital, which calmed my nerves just a little bit. But after I realized the things that you went through wasn't the same as what I was going through, I started to panic. Let me tell you every hospital and doctor is different. I had one of the best doctors and in one of the best hospitals with top notch state off the art equipment used for the surgery. I was awake the whole time. The sedation wasn't strong enough for me. I was tensed the whole procedure. I felt the wires going through me which was painful even after being numb in the area. I felt my heart go into SvT and I felt alot pf pressure in my head and chest. It was a blessing that the doctor found the problem and fixed the problem within 3 1/2 hours. I had to lay flat for 6hrs after surgery. But over all surgery went great I feel alot better. And no you didn't find me at a store the same day. I had to stay over night in the hospital and the day of departure, I had a hard time walking and getting into my car. Who ever else is getting this procedure done, try not to research the surgery. Everyone experience is different. Just pray and you will be alright!
I was awake and conscious through my surgery as well (felt the wires and some heat too) but I'll tell you the pain was probably in your head because we Dont have nerves in our heart. Lol The reason you may have felt pain and a head ache was probably because you were freaking out and tensing your body. I was kept in for 6 hours to because after 4 when they were going to let me go I started shooting blood from my incision point which was crazy but funny since I made it a laughing matter with my nurse and brother in-law who was present. You just realize nothing is going to kill you in a hospital. Lol But yeah everyones experience is different. Have you had any palpitations since?!!!
Had my ablation this past Thursday. I was asleep for mine. Doc said I had two accessory pathways, one on the left side and one down the middle of my heart. Stayed overnight and had some burning in chest for a day and also some PVC type episodes that come and go. Doc said he got both of them and after all the abating he could not trigger my arythmia so it's gone. Can't wait to start exercising again and not worry about tachycardia from SVT. My SVT would start and stop suddenly and I would never
@@artemi_sg Thanks for reaching out and asking. Exactly 4 weeks after my ablation [May 24 2024].. No light/conscious sedation - I was expecting this after watching 10-12 videos but the patients were based in the USA/Canada. Humungous bruising over all the top of my right leg (patient next to only had 3cmx3cm). Sprayed Cetrimide antiseptic and took a lot of Vit C (Ester C variety) and it faded quite quickly. For 2 weeks when I walked outside I would get a kind of short gripping sensation, almost a spasm, but not angina for ca. 1-sec. bursts but that seems to have passed. Can walk 6-8k steps a day. Might return to the gym in 2 weeks. I'm 60, so taking it gently. For sure, if I'm unlucky and I'm one of the 4-7% that need a second ablation I will go somewhere where they offer sedation. My ablation was only 2 hours, but it's a very discomfiting feeling to be fully aware. I won't know fir a long while if it's fully worked - my last episodes were Jan 2024 and Oct 2023 and then a gap of 4 years before that. I'll still carry some Verapamil tablets with me - crushing 4 of those in water stops my SVT after 25 mins or so. The local Slovak hospital only has Adenosine which has only worked 12 out of 13 times. Sorry for going on, but immediately post-SVT people sometimes blurt out too much. Good to know that after 12 years you're still hale and hearty. interestingly, you said they couldn't catch your arrhythmia - they caught mine but it kept stopping spontaneously. So, already fully awake, already discomfited by the whole procedure, I then had to experience them pumping adrenaline through me to keep the arrhythmia going long enough for them to ablate - all under no sedation whatsoever. They said that sedation can calm the arrhythmia down, but most US hospitals use it so that doesn't add up.
h having one done in 2 hours from now. I'm 36 years old and have atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular rate heart rate went up to 268 beats a minute the first time I had a fib. Medications have too many side effects so I'm ready to get off of all the meds after 10 years!
thank you so much for this vid im currently contemplating having the ablation or upping med idk but this really put me at ease because i am more fearful of the after affects when i am home than the whole procedure.
I had mine done around 2 weeks ago. It's a pretty simple procedure with a success rate of 95%. Well this is because Australia has one of the best cardiologists in the world. But still, everyone shouldnt be freaked out about the procedure. One scary thing is staying awake during the procedure. And it hurts a little bit. Good luck!
Sometimes you can go home if they access the left side of the heart. Often times, they keep you over night because of the lengthier recovery time (you'd end up being discharged in the middle of the night otherwise). If they can seal the "iv site" your chances of going home after left heart ablation is higher.
Is there an update? My husband is having this done in 2 weeks and he said your video made him feel a lot better. But we'd both like to hear how things have been since then.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been having problems since I was a teen and over the years my afib is getting worse along with pvc's. Going on a beta blocker. I hope it goes well. Yeah, I too feel my heart is screwed up. I wish you a happy and full life. Good luck to you!

Having my ablation surgery this upcoming Thursday. Nervous is an understatement. Your video has helped ease some anxiety. I will be asking for that ativan. ;)
Just had my ablation this past Tuesday. I had a very similar experience emotionally. My problem was on my left side though, so it took them about 6 hours and had to have two extra catheters. The only thing right now that is really bothering me is my right shoulder and arm is in horrible pain from being immobile for so long. IF that is the worst thing to happen after Heart Surgery - then I am pretty happy!
I was told 2 days ago, it’s either new meds that only had 50% chance working or the ablation for my PVCs. The thoughts are nerve wracking about surgery about my heart. Especially when I have a family and a full time very active job. Not sure how to feel. I got to tell cardiologist ASAP.
They offered me this procedure though Kaiser when I was 18, I said no way Jose. When they told me I could wake up with a pacemaker if they mess up, I said no frickin way.

MON 1/14/13 759PM EST TyDogg-thanks for your great recap of what happened and I am happy that it worked out for you. I am having ablation tomorrow and really enjoyed hearing your comments. Kevin K
Ty bro I just had my surgery yesterday. They aren't sure if they fixed the problem but they did find an extra conductor in my heart that the burned off. Apparently I was the 1% out of 99% of the people to whom that happens to. They couldn't stimulate the palpitations/: lol but all in all its not bad at all. The procedure itself is quick. If anyone reading this is "Young" understand that you might bleed a bit when you first get up after 4 hours of laying down and will be kept a bit longer. Dont freak out when you start shooting blood from the incision point. Understand YOU ARE IN A HOSPITAL AND WILL NOT BLEED OUT. lol so keep your cool and have a laugh about it with your nurse. Any questions about it Feel free to Ask Me!
Im currently in the hospital and im having this procedure tomorrow for SVT. Ive cried a couple times and im in panic mode. Im terrified that im going to need a pace maker. I hope it goes as smoothly for me :)
please, please, please , don't go to bed tonight and think YOU have not made a difference in someone's life by taping this video. I have gotten more comfort from you than I have from my Dr. thank YOU sooooo much
How did it go how you finding it would you still recommend ablation
+Maddison Aycock Thank you for sharing your story. I hope that you have continued health. This story you shared really helped me.
How are you doing now Maddison..??
Are you SVT free today and did you have any long term side effects from ablation?
@@RickyRomero805 I've been having a few issues with palpitations recently (mostly after drinking caffeine) but I think it's more likely that it's PVC rather than SVT. I need to speak with my cardiologist to confirm this though. As far as long term side effects, I do experience some very minimal nerve pain around the site every now and then, but I'm also only a year and a half post-op. My quality of life has improved so much following the procedure and I don't regret it one bit.
To clarify, the palpitations are usually just short flutters, nothing anywhere close to what my episodes of SVT looked like.
I had mine done today and the IV was the worst part for me too! Thank you for sharing.
How did it go how you finding it would you still recommend ablation
Just had the surgery yesterday, soon as they put the catheter into my heart they said i went straight into svt, the node was also on the other side so they had to cut a hole and go to the other side, even still I got to leave at the end of the day. Feeling good.
How have u been since ur ablation? I'm so scared I go in Friday and I'm freaking out. Trying all the info I can get from post ablations bc I do not want to continue to have these attacks.
How did it go how you finding it would you still recommend ablation
@@techdaddy776 I'm not sure if this ? Was for me but as far as my exp. with my ablation although I had to get 2 , yes I would get again and I'm happy with the outcome bc I can live a normal and very active life bc of it.
@@Trailfloater thanks for response how long ago did you have the first one
Bless You! You're so brave, and encouraging. My son is due to have an ablation in a few months. Your video is a great help to me as well.
Thanks a ton!I have been looking and looking for one genuine, authentic, straight-up patient experience pre and post-ablation and really despaired of finding any!! I am really concerned about having to lie immobile for hours after the procedure, reportedly.
Hey man, thanks for this. I'm going in for an ablation in 5 days. Your video has taken the edge off my anxiety.
Im 31 and watched this video about 11 years ago when i had my first ablation... Now im needing another and again watching this video!
How did yours go?
How it do?
Yeah I’m keen to know how did it go ??? I’m in persistent Af and would love an ablation to work for me
@@raff23able Actually went for my first one and in three months went back into Afib not as bad but my doctor wanted to do another one which the first one i was nervous so this one i was still not on board right away but my doctor was pretty sure the second one would fix it. so i went and did it in May of 2022 and now 6 months later my heart is beating normal and also getting stronger so it was worth it.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :)
thank u so much, my son that is 16 years old got to have this, u made me feel so much better
thanks so much for posting this.
THANKS!! I'm going in next Monday and I'm starting to get a lil nervous. You're video put me to ease, really appreciate this :-)
Thank you for this. My SO is having this on Monday so I showed him your video. He said he feels the same way and you really helped him.
Hey did your ablations hold ???
Really well. No major episodes since the procedure
@@bigrevkev55 that’s great to hear and thanks for the response ! I’m new to afib and I’m persistent afib. I’m hopefully to one day be free of afib and the medications associated. Long may your treatment be a success 🙏🏽
Prayers your way!
Thanks again for your brave synopsis.
thank you SO MUCH for telling what happened to you... I am having this done soon and this sure helped! I have been so anxious about this!
You're the man. May God continue to bless your heart and your health.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!! I need to have an ablation done but I am so scared. Your video is so helpful. God bless you .
Im so happy about you man ! Did you had any episodes of svt or pac's pvc's since then ?
I just had my ablation today, well Monday August 13th. Like you I was nervous as hell and a little scared. When I woke up I was expecting to feel everything you described, but I didn't. I felt great! Tired, but normal. It's about 12 hrs post surgery and still feel great. The Dr said he was able to get my heart to go into SVT so he could ablate the right area, so hopefully I won't ever have to go through those uncomfortable SVT's again. Thanks for sharing this video!!
Thank you so much. My brother goes Monday and your video really eased my mind.
Had mine two weeks ago. I had some other side affects. I didn't quit bleeding for 15 hours but still kicked out next am. Still doing good. The staff that does this is amazing and just know you will walk out sore but doing better.
Hey nwcountrygal.. how r u doing now..?? are you free from svt since you gone with ablation procedure..??
What a difference in the two videos. You look super healthy in this one. Thank you for being honest with your anxieties. I've noticed your procedure was done in 2012 and nothing else posted. I'm going to assume you are cured.
I'm curious too for a follow up since it's been 2 years. :)
So again, thx, GMG Ireland.
watching this video has relieved my worries about having this procedure and I want to thank you for making this video
How did it go how you finding it would you still recommend ablation
Thank you for this video. I’m getting an ablation done in early February and I’m freaking out it this is encouraging

Biff Dennis how did the surgery go
Having the procedure done tomorrow, your video is by far the most reassuring. I've been terrified, despite being told over and over again that it's a "minimally invasive procedure."
How it went?
Very smoothly! Much less scary than I was expecting.
Im glad to hear that.
Amy Sherman mine is in two days. i'm pretty scared - i'm only a kid
Don't be scared! It's not painful and it happens goes really quickly. You are going to do great!
Thanks for the information. Got mine coming up in a week. You were where I am now..
My SVT catheter ablation is scheduled for tomorrow. I watched several videos and did a lot of research. While I am not fearful at all about it, it was helpful seeing your video because I felt your video was on my level. Wish you posted another one to update us on how you are doing now.
Did it work? Are you ok? Do you have a video.. ❤❤ xx please 🙏
thank you so much ! I have to do mine in a week and I'm so anxious , this video helped me a lot.
Your video has helped me soo much man! Im having mine done tomorrow but after watching this i feel soo much more relaxed thanks!!
How did it go?
My SVT would start and stop suddenly and I would never
Due to have my ablation in Slovakia Apr 24 (2024) - stumbled across this. Very reassuring.
How are you today?
TAKE THE ATIVAN! Take the Ativan. Lol!! Couldn't agree with you more. I was actually afraid of Ativan, but boy, did it calm me down.
thank you so much for this vid im currently contemplating having the ablation or upping med idk but this really put me at ease because i am more fearful of the after affects when i am home than the whole procedure.
Thank you for this video. l am having the procedure at the end of the month. So nervous...
thank you so much for sharing the details of your feelings and your experience!
How did it go how your hubby finding it finding it would you still recommend ablation
Thank you so much for this video. I've been having problems since I was a teen and over the years my afib is getting worse along with pvc's. Going on a beta blocker. I hope it goes well. Yeah, I too feel my heart is screwed up. I wish you a happy and full life. Good luck to you!

Hey man I know you dropped this years ago, but how are you doing today? I'm 21 and I just got diagnosed with Ventricular Tachycardia and now I'm on meds to control it. I'm playing the waiting game currently but I'm on my way to meet a specialist and get this procedure.

Thank you for this. I face an ablation, although it's for Afib and not SVT, but your video has helped calm my nerves.
Having my ablation surgery this upcoming Thursday. Nervous is an understatement. Your video has helped ease some anxiety. I will be asking for that ativan. ;)
How did you make out?
It's been 8 years since you did this video. How are you now? Has your SVT been cured? How is your throat?
Thank u so much. Mine is in 5 days and I have been freaking out. That helped calm my nerves some.
h having one done in 2 hours from now. makes me feel much better. I'm 36 years old and have atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular rate heart rate went up to 268 beats a minute the first time I had a fib. Medications have too many side effects so I'm ready to get off of all the meds after 10 years!

TyDogg-thanks for your great recap of what happened and I am happy that it worked out for you. I am having ablation tomorrow and really enjoyed hearing your comments.

So happy it went well for you!!! God bless.
Thank you for this vid and the courage to post it! :)
Im currently in the hospital and im having this procedure tomorrow for SVT. Ive cried a couple times and im in panic mode. Im terrified that im going to need a pace maker. I hope it goes as smoothly for me :)
Positive thoughts and prayers for ya shanna
jason botti Thank you! I appreciate it :)
No the procedure was un successful. My SVT is back and happens at least 10x a day. Im probably just going to have another procedure.
