I had mentioned to my friend that I was number 37 on the waitlist in the library to read your book. The library only ordered 18 copies. She surprised me yesterday by buying me your book and I am so grateful to her. I can’t wait to read it.

Lucky. I was number 300 on a waitlist when I tried to get a hold with my library 😂 that was before the book was even released! I ended up just buying it because I couldn’t wait that long. I just now checked the waitlist again out of curiosity and it had me at number 891!

Amazing! I bought it the other day on Amazon and I've read it each night... staying up too late😂
Jill has a way with words.
    For anyone being negative.
Read the book with an open mind.
This book isn't what some may think.. it's her realization that there was serious issues in the church her parents raised her in.
Issues the show brought along..as well.
She actually explains well and shows the love and respect she has managed to keep for her parents... along with forgiveness...

I’ve followed you and your family from the beginning. I always thought your family was different, but interesting to watch. I remember reading in your parents’ book about how you were raised. At first, I admired your parents. Then, the stories began coming out. I’m so sorry for what you and your siblings went through. No wonder it was so hard when you began advocating for yourself. Derick has been such a wonderful husband to you. You sure hit the jackpot. I read your book in one evening, and you were very courageous in sharing your story. I hope you find the healing and happiness that you deserve.

I'm extremely impressed with how mature, respectful, self-aware and articulate you and your husband are as you process the choices your parents made for you. Your dad should have paid all of you for your work. To declare on tax forms to the IRS that you were paid, when you were not is very deceitful... and probably a crime to the IRS of fraud. I'm so glad you and your family seem to be so mentally healthy and able to be free and to set appropriate boundaries where necessary.

I was raised the same way pretty much that you were Jill. We weren’t associated with IBLP and we couldn’t cut our hair, wear jewelry, had to wear dresses, no make up…etc. My husband was raised the same way. I’m so glad that you found your voice. When my daughter was in the 3rd grade I went to school for a program (I didn’t homeschool mine) but we still practiced the way e we were raised. She was a tomboy and she was turning flips up on stage (not a part of the program 😂) but I came home and told my husband that I would ńot go against him, but we needed to pray about letting her wear pants to school because all those dads were there. We studied and prayed and realized that we were following a lot of man’s traditions instead of the Bible. I still wore dresses all the time, then a few years later I started wearing them around the house and you could not have paid me to go out of the house because of what people would think. That’s been 30 years ago and occasionally if I’m running to our local DG and it’s cold I’ll leave them on. I’m 57 years old and I still deal with that in my head. I recently started therapy and it’s helping. I can’t imagine what it’s been like for you living all this in the public eye. You’ve definitely given me courage. I’m loving the book so much. My dad verbally and mentally abused us, and then get behind the pulpit and we were threatened within an inch of our lives if we didn’t put on these big smiles and act like the perfect little family. We were physically abused at times. I’m ok with a spanking but not belts, sticks, whatever he could get his hands on.

May the seeds you plant now multiply and may your story help other children be protected.... protected from cults, reality TV and exploitation at every level. I’ve been listening to your book. I’m sure this was so difficult to write, being that you love your parents, but you did such a wonderful job. I loved listening to your voice on it because the feelings come through in your voice. May God bless your journey. I also started Jinger’s book. I’m happy for you that both have been set free from so many rules. God wants us free! I have watched your story from the beginning. I just want to say that I’m extremely proud of you for taking this stand. I was raised exactly the same way. I got out of that when I was 18 years old. I still go to church but I know that living like I was raised isn’t right. I go to a Baptist church now. I have been watching your family since they first came out back in early 2000’s. I’m so proud that you are now happy with your family. What you had to through with your father was appalling and I’m so sorry you were treated so harshly. I will be praying for you and your little family. Keep staying strong!!! Love you guys!! ❤

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby girl. Grief share is a wonderful organization that can help you go through times like this. I pray that you can reconcile with your dad and perhaps take that book you wrote off the market. Jill and Derek I never understood why you came against your father and father-in-law in front of millions of people like that. Your dad did the best he could. He is a very nice father compared to abusive fathers and husbands. You are blessed. To have him in your life. I would not shame him like that in public. God tells us to honor our parents.

Read your book, loved it. I was at a different angle of the Bill Gothard movement. I was a young Christian mum that wanted the best for her children. I looked at the home school IBLP and even tried blanket training for all of five minutes, I ended up picking up my baby and crying.
I did continue to home school but did not use the IBLP and as most of the Christians around me were, I felt like a “second class “ home school Christian.
I found myself people pleasing these Christians, trying to prove I was as good as them. Working myself into an early grave and forgetting to teach boundaries for myself and my children.

Oh wow my name is Tonya too. I'm a long time fan so i ordered your book so I would get it the first day. (I rarely buy books new) Many times while reading it I cried. My heart broke for you. I watched the show for years and never once considered that the show could be harming you or causing harm to any of the kids. I feel so guilty for having participated in something that caused you pain and trauma even if it was indirectly. Even before reading this book I have prayed for you Jill several times the last few years. I prayed many times specifically for you during Josh's trial. And I continue to pray for your road to healing and for some kind of healthy relationship with your parents and siblings (if possible) moving forward. I'm so glad you're finding your voice and will be first in line if you write another book!

Loved your book! It validated my feelings of how some Christian parents often try to control their adult children even after they’re married. We all have our own journey with Christ, and no two journeys are alike! Also, I apologize for all the counter operatives that have been sent to post on your video. May they will read your book and have a higher calling!
