To me, the darkest moment is during one of the episode where a virus was released to the world, that targets human males and it is a 100% fatality rate. Which was cause by a amazon name Aresia to-in her mind-get rid of the evilness that is man’s world. This is incredibly dark because of the implications if wonder women & Hawkgirl didn’t stop Aresia in time and get the notes of a cure. I.E: The ultimately extinction of the human Race.
Also, that it was largely Hippolyta's fault for teaching her that men were inherently wrong when Aresia was kept alive by a man (according to the episode, the only man buried on Themyscira) who was the only reason she ended up being adopted by the Amazons instead of drowning.

This was such an incredible show. I know everyone says their generation was better, but this show really stood out. It was so mature and the lessons it taught were so fundamental touching on everything from death, complex adult relationships, love, and even what it means to believe in a higher power or not. It's sad that children's media these days is so focused on being random, memes, and being pc. I think we underestimate what our children can handle. I think shows like this really are important, and parts of it concerning morality stuck with me even to this day.
the reason aces scene was touching is bc it was batman who was there, who opened up and showed how he is the most human of the team, not just some hardened vigilante but someone who feels empathy for a dying child
@@neminem233 That's why I put the quotation marks, friend. I put those to place emphasis on the word. I also would like to say that I had no idea how to describe her (without using curse words) at the moment so I just used that word. Abusive and horrid are perfect.

There was also the woman whose name I can’t remember who was played by Juliet Landau. Lex Luthor had her magical abilities act as an energy source in order to bring back Brainiac’s disintegrated body (who turned out to be Darkseid); however this acted as a live conduit and was extremely painful so that she was screaming all the time. Apparently Juliet Landau’s screaming was so disturbing to the producers that they had to tone it down for the finished production.
Here's a 2 for 1 - Both times when Vandal Savage took over the world: Dystopian nightmare where humanity is under his heel or Apocalyptic future where all humans are dead.
Forgot the episode "Legends" in which an alternate earth that is partially destroyed by war, leads to a mutant kid developing psychic abilities, changes the appearance of the destroyed city, and brainwashes all the citizens of said city into thinking they are in paradise land.
Yeah, and it even though he surrendered to death in the end it wasn’t a “clean” kill, she had to beat his brains in with her mace. I imagine it would have taken several blows
Also one of the dark episodes where the team turned into kids by Mordred and eventually outsmarted him but Batman had words that really blows me away about he stopped being a kid when his parents were murdered.
Great video, I really appreciate the work done here and as a kid who saw the entire series, I know how you feel man. It IS really difficult to make a vid like this

That's not what Question realized. He is fully aware that the Justice Lords are, actually, from another reality.
Definitely the best animated super hero show ever made. Perfect writing, execution, comedy, action, even romance. Characters had arcs, were consistent and grew. WHO ARE THE TOP 5 PEOPLE POISON IVY’S SLEPT WITH?
I was about to say "Well Doomsday is a horrible monster" but then I saw what he did to Ivy. Ya don't mess with Ivy.
Wtf is wrong with him lobotomizing a monster like doomsday??? He should have done that the first chance he got in any universe to save everyone.
What part of he grew his brain back do you not understand
sawdustfart fr😂
It’s more him doing it on a regular basis and not just on doomsday.
To me the crowd cheering Superman for actually doing it was darker.
The way Aquaman cuts his hand off reminds me of Zeff cuting his own leg to save Sanji in One Piece.
Yea, but one piece has characters that take inhumane amounts of damage and walk away just fine, to such and extreme point, that it's hardly anything impressive since it literally takes the removal of plot armor to kill any character in that show.
Can look no further than the original Saw for a man cutting off his limb for his wife and child.
How about the time when Cadmus made clones of hero’s that had short life spans. Or when Superman got transferred to a future where him and only vandal savage exist
I waited so long till you made another one
same.
5:00 One of my favorite sight gags of Justice League was seeing that Superman lobotomized Scarface and not the Ventriloquist.
Can you do "Five Best Times Superman Became a Dictator"? I can think of four instances off the top of my head:
1. Red Son
2. Injustice
3. Godfall
4. That one episode of Justice League TAS
Earth X
Luthor sacrificing Tala to try and resurrect Brainiac.
I mean, that scream...
Martian Manhunter denying chance to meet his family by destroying the sorcerer's stone,
I didn’t even notice the burn marks on the villains when I was watching that episode
"I'll die, you'll die we'll all die sooner or later." Thanks Needlemouse.
which is especially true with the coronavirus now being a huge problem in so many countries, let's face it, we all do get infected by coronavirus.
Edit: OH. MY. GOSH, MY COMMENT GOT A LIKE VERY quickly..
The episode that Lex Luthor sacrifices Tala to resurrect Brainiac and Darkseid is what comes back to life.
Surprised the death of the Justice Guild of America wasn't on this list. The whole episode was so tragic
The Question getting tortured was actually kind of funny.
"TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW!"
"The plastic things at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister."
I need to know their true purpose now dammit.
Great video. Never thought about the deeper meaning behind the episodes when I watches them as a kid.
They really did do Aquaman justice in this show.
The episode where Mongol "gifts" superman with the dream plant and he and batman are forced to relive the deaths of their families.
Aquaman cuts his hand to saves his son ? Wait it sound familliar ...
Oh shi-
*Berserk The Esclipse vietnam flashback
Hope you are well needlemouse, have you seen Justice league dark apokolips war and what did you think of it?
Aaron Bood Agreed, he should make a review of that movie.
The Flash Paradox is pretty dark too!
What about when Batman traps Chronos in the infinite time loop of being nagged on by his "mean" wife?
What do you mean "mean" she was horrid and incredibly abusive
@@neminem233 That's why I put the quotation marks, friend. I put those to place emphasis on the word. I also would like to say that I had no idea how to describe her (without using curse words) at the moment so I just used that word.
Abusive and horrid are perfect.
@@jackychang9148 Honestly she deserves to be stuck in the time loop more than Chronos
@@neminem233 She was definitely the cause of his criminal escapades.
@@jackychang9148 "I just wanted him to grow a spine" No you treated him like shit you poor excuse for a human being
I've been waiting so long
Thank you so very much for posting this TRULY wonderful video! My family continues to watch BOTH series and ALSO make a point to watch Comfort and Joy along with all of our OTHER Christmas specials
Again thank you so very much for posting this
Merry Christmas from the Winthrop family
There was an episode when HawkGirl had to Kill Solomon Grundy. Birdnose help Grundy, yes...close your eyes. Good stuff!
Can’t thank you enough for taking me back to my childhood with this video.
YES FINALLY YOU UPLOADED!
Forgot the episode "Legends" in which an alternate earth that is partially destroyed by war, leads to a mutant kid developing psychic abilities, changes the appearance of the destroyed city, and brainwashes all the citizens of said city into thinking they are in paradise land.
A cool Emerald Twilight reference.
Can you do a video top crimes ever done by villains?
It’s been awhile...it’s great to have you back!
I still remember the episode where hawkgirl had to put down solomon grundy.
Aquaman cutting off his hand wasn't dark. It was *metal*.
Mark Gundle Actually, I think it was dark.
Great video, I really appreciate the work done here and as a kid who saw the entire series, I know how you feel man. It IS really difficult to make a vid like this
#10:28-10:40 caught me off guard as a kid seeing power girls body twitch like that made me feel kinda bad for her. #JLReunion2021
The narrator just made death sound so calm and soothing
FINALLY NEW VIDEO OMG
3:24 when you realise a whole fighting videogame franchise and a comic book series was inspired from this episode and they were all also called Injustice.
Same I watch this guy everyday
This reminds me of good ol time watching this show every late night on CN. Thank you!
1(for me)every nightmare from that one episode were there put into a nightmare
The episode with Doctor Destiny
When I saw Batman making a friend with ace and then carrying her corpse almost made me cry
I loved this show it was something special.
“The dead dong feel any pain so once you’re gone, it’s pretty chill.”
That's not what Question realized. He grasped that Luthor was fully capable of manipulating Superman into following a similar course of action, with Superman's own sense of morality being the -only- thing standing in the way of armageddon.
He is fully aware that the Justice Lords are, actually, from another reality.
This show was my childhood! I still love it to this day!
same
Dang man I thought you got corona virus or something. Nice to see you back!
I think he did get coronavirus, I don't know, if he does have an account on social media, I would ask him if he did get infected.
Definitely the best animated super hero show ever made. Perfect writing, execution, comedy, action, even romance. Characters had arcs, were consistent and grew. I'm still blown away by how well crafted this show was. If the DCEU just found a way to capture this magic in their movies, they'd be unstoppable
3:05 Unless, of course, you believe that Hell is a thing.
P.S. Was anyone else expecting the Dr. Destiny episode to appear on the list?
Yes, the Dr. Destiny episode was dark.
I love your vids thanks for inspiring me you’re the best
Batman the animated series: am I a joke to u
I don't recall the justice lords being a time loop.....i recall it actually being an alternative reality
Do which Lantern Corps Team Avatar (from Legend of Korra) should be in
or do a part 2 of your Avatar lantern corp video with characters such as Iroh,Suki and Azula
