My heart is full when I see how they care for one another. Let’s all make sure we save their habitat so we can enjoy them for years to come!! I couldn’t love them more!! 🙏🥰❤️🦅🦅
Oh they are 100% protected. It’s not like other nest where there’s all kinds of people showing up to watch them. Jackie and Shadow are the pride of Big Bear, Southern California and the Nation. They even have fans in other countries.
@matthewhibbard9807- dear friend- yes but unfortunately developers have lots of money and there are always loop holes in laws. Please go to the main website and read about it. If we don’t save their land/ habitat they could be forced to leave. There is better information under the moon project. Forgive me for not knowing the specifics. I donated and emailed to sign a petition! I’m working on a letter too! Thank you!! Your friend, Liz 🙏❤️❤️
When I see the strength of the winds, I'm always amazed at how well they built and secured their nest to make a good and safe home for their babies and themselves. Such great parents.
Jackie came back into season and she and Shadow mated again. I'm afraid we might be needing to set our hopes on another clutch. Heartbreaking to say goodbye to all my hopes and wishes for this group though. I've been longing to see the beautiful family for so long.
I have always loved birds nests. I was a kid when one blew out of a tree and my dad showed it to me. So all of my life, when I watch the birds collecting (or the squirrels too) for the choice items to build their nests, I just get tickled and when my kids were little, I'd take bits of yarn and leave about in the yard and trees. Watching them swoop down for them was so fun and then there were a couple of times I got to see how they used them. Once after a bad storm or hurricaine- I don't remember and a tree that was cut back..and they brought the nest down with it. But to see our yarn intertwined so delicately and it had been months later as well, was just wonderful. They make works of art when building their nests. And online I have seen some video of them making their nests. One bird uses a stick and actually sews her nest. It is just too fun to watch birds and all wildlife
When I was little, we found a fallen nest after a very windy day. We saved it till Christmas and added it to our tree. We also made 3 tiny "robin's-egg-blue" molded eggs for it. It was a beloved ornament for years. It may sound like such an insignificant thing, but for a little girl, it created a cherished memory and a lifelong fascination with birds.
Very informative video with the dinner delivery, the pinecone fiasco, the unbelievable wind and snow ❄️ stalwart shadow as he guard’s Jackie as she eats the trout. That night Buried in ❄️ snowy weather was another heroic moment.
@colleendaley4980 Indeed! Jackie and Shadow are very dedicated and brave fighting with the snow, storms etc. Thanks a lot for your great comment! I'm glad that you like this video! ❤️❤️😍🥰🦅🦅
Best wishes from Germany to J&S and the team, that makes us possible to watch them and being part of their day. It's so heartbraking, J&S are doing their best so caring and lovingly in extremly difficult circumstances an the eggs will probably not hatch ... ❤❤
Great video. Thank you. This is beautiful and bittersweet at the same time. These two are so devoted to each, but they must endure some harsh weather together. So sad to know their eggs will not hatch. But Jackie and Shadow are in love forever. ❣️🦅🥚😥
It doesn't matter if they're waiting because God probably doesn't want them out in the cold so he gives them a task where they have to stay home. Do you know how cold it is for them when they have no adequate shelter? They are supposed to live in cave like dwellings in the Mountains ⛰ to keep cover. This nest is LESS than a tent!⛺ They need to stay put so they don't succumb to freezing themselves. Birds hibernate by perching and keeping still while sleeping. God is keeping them in a Torpor with those eggs [Torpor; While many animals hibernate during winter, some species of birds go into torpor. This hibernation-like state allows birds to lower their body temperature and heart rate to conserve body heat. Like hibernation, it helps them to survive the cold temperatures of winter.Fluffing feathersAll birds stay warm by trapping pockets of air around their bodies. The secret to maintaining these layers of air lies in having clean, dry and flexible feathers.][Torpor; a state of physical or mental inactivity; lethargy.] The next time you question my Father's actions...think again and DON'T!
The wind blowing that pinecone into the nest made Jackie’s day. After Shadow’s fish delivery of course. She fidgeted with it off and on for awhile. Poor Shadow watched that piece of fish fall all the way down.
Hi everyone- does anyone know when Jackie and Shadow slowly stop sting on the nest due to instincts and hormones etc. ( I do not mean to upset anyone!! ❤️) Do they travel together around the great bear area or meet up again when it’s mating season? I’m learning so much and was interested to learn more. Sure do love them! ❤️❤️🦅🦅
@edwardizhonig204 Jackie and Shadow can be admired all year round in this area. When they stop sitting on the nest, they will come from time to time and sit in nearby trees. We will be able to watch them thanks to Cam 2 with a wide view of the nearby area. They will return to working on the nest in October. Thanks Liz for all your great comments! ❤️❤️
@BirdlifeOdyssey- they truly are “ love “ birds! Wonderful!!! Now I need to buy a computer ! lol my phone screen is not large enough to see clearly! They’re worth it! Thank you so very much. Have a beautiful day!! ❤️❤️
When do the Eagles realize the eggs aren't going to hatch and they leave them to their fates? It has been nearly a month since the hatching date? Just wondering. Thank you for providing these snippets. I appreciate seeing them.

At what point will they stop sitting on the nest.
@dianelucio5420 Nobody knows exactly when. It is different every time. It will be a gradual process.
When shadow or Jackie leave the nest do they go very far away from the nest
They are in the neighborhood. They can be watched all year round thanks to FOBBV and their both cams: Cam1 and Cam2.
When do the Eagles realize the eggs aren't going to hatch and they leave them to their fates? It has been nearly a month since the hatching date? Just wondering. Thank you for providing these snippets. I appreciate seeing them.

Where does Shadow go all night?
Shadow spends the night in a tree near the nest to guard it.
I thought the eggs were eaten by the ravens?😊
No, they are still in the nest incubated by both Jackie and Shadow.
