Number 3 looks really good. He actually looks like a mercenary soldier, and the long cape would have looked great when he dodge rolled. I'd take that design over John Concord any day.
Its like they were afraid of giving him actual military colors and armor. To the default soldier guy! Good redesigns there, though even I can tell there's only so much one can do for this one...
At least one of the people in charge in that company/product hates guns, so most like design by allergies. I'll say this though... still better then Deadlock's weapons/armor.

It's the 4th one for me. He still looks like the vanilla soldier 76-ish character, but with better silhouette and far less generic look. He actually looks like a ranger and not some guy who just came from football practice.
What I like about Teo is that he looks like a sci-fi soldier toy from 1981 - a knock-off Star Wars product where they cut costs by reusing the head mold from their army man toy line. When redesigning him, I would like to see this main idea/characteristic/feel be enhanced rather than covered up or replaced.
Now I'm imagining him having a prosthetic lower leg with the knee being one of those joints that action figures have. All made of the same plastic as your childhood toys, of course.

Teo was actually the only design I liked. Retroish armor, awesome headset. Something you'd see in a future war scene in the old terminator movies, if it wasnt for his color palette

teo unironically has the best character design in concord since it properly represents his gameplay as generic military shooter man. complete with automatic rifle, glock, and grenades. (fog and damage) still a funny soldier 76 from temu based on his gameplay footage. your redesigns not only make him look better but also add on to the fact that he is a generic military shooter man. tho the cloak kinda makes him a stealthy man when he is usually on the field fighting alongside the rest of the team.
ok ok this is a treat, one problem I had with his initial design is that it doesnt show his personality that much but this, he looks way more interesting, since im not gonna bother watching the cinematic to learn more about his character I'll just say this. I kinda like his orange colour and I think removing that would kinda remove his uniqueness a bit but not to say your more darker color pallet is bad, I think orange is his color like Soldier 76 with his blue so here's my thought, I like the hoodie you gave and the long sleeves, and the Gambit head piece is just cheff's kiss, so I think the last one shines the most although a little bit more orange would do the trick. plus the long coat I think would help for his silhouette. but nice work Astrid this is very cool. I just realize he kinda looks like he just stole Ana's style if I used my description. but whose next? if you ever wanna continue it that is

Ngl when I first saw his design, I had the same thought by just darkening the vest and shortening that shoulder plate but you went all out. Good job man, third design is definitely my favorite as it reminded me of Reborn from Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. If I knew how to extract models from Concord and port them to Blender, I would definitely redesign him similar to how you do yours because a 3d model of that third design would go so hard.
You absolutely cooked with the third one, It has the silhoutte and more importante better color distribution, the things that pop the most are his faces, then his arms, which in turns leads me to notice the gun, and then the black details.
When I look at Teo, the only distinct good sci-fi design I can imagine is Rolf from Galaxy Fight. Teo looks like light soldier with blue eye added for some weird reason. He need to be more edgy to looking cool. Without knowing backstory, whole design need ro tell you backstory about this character
I think this character is kinda the example that the problem with concord desings, is more than the culture war bs of "they made everything ugly wah wah". Coz, This is an example of a VERY safe corpo mandate kind of thing, to the extreme. I really want to see the concept art to know if they made more crazy desings first only to be put down by a producer saying smt like "to wacky, it needs to be more grounded so the graphics look good" or smt.

#3 Absolutely. I would instantly recognize him on the field as a flanker of some kind . That's the kind of recognizable characters this game needed. Maybe (taking inspiration from paragon) he has an ult that either gives him a very powerful sidearm shot or he has a stealth ult. That would make him so unique. Great job man as always .
I really like the second one. He looks like a semi-realistic version of buzz lighyear and like, that's EXACTLY what he should look like. The basic ass white guy pulp hero in a 70's sci-fi comic book. In the game he looks like a jumbled mess of random ideas.
Hey amazing work on these, loved the 4th one specifically, felt it went on a pretty unique path on what one would consider the corporate merc looks. Subscribed and pretty curious how you'll handle the other messes in this game. P.D: As a side note, checking the character's "legendary" skins may give some ideas. I really feel the original designs were meant to be those skins and they were later told to dumb them down for the default looks.
I like how he looks like a proper scout with light armor in your designs, instead of someone messing around playing Airsoft in their old high-school American Football uniform
3 and 4 are both sick, but I feel like there's another approach that #2 kind of hints at where you give him the elbow pads, change the gloves to match the armor, and add armor elements to the legs in the same white to show that it's a full, coherent, and intentional suit of armor. Teo's biggest problem in my eyes is that he has an outfit on under the armor and then the armor slapped on top, and making the pants part of the armor and leaving his t-shirt as the flair piece instead would do wonders on its own.
The second one for some odd reason was my favorite in the first and the second video. Maybe it’s the black coloring on the clothing and the later accents that just work well for some reason. Anyways, good work, they’re pretty good and would look more appealing to play as.

I like the cape, but there's no way they could animate that in a realistic style. You couldn't afford the cycles to model movement properly, so it'd look like cardboard and/or clip into everything. "No capes." Which might be how this went so wrong to begin with. That weird shoulder pad was supposed to anchor a cape and they just couldn't make it work in time. After eight years…
Having not really looked closely at this character for ‘reasons’ I didn’t notice that it look like they are using an SA80 mk1. I can’t imagine many that would like to be stuck with the gun known as the worst combat rifle to ever have been used in the field.
i guess they try to do the "normal people with guns game", i mean if inclusivity is what they want it is a good motivation, "normalice the normal" kind of stuff... but men, they can give us more flavour
Since nobody else has said it - his gun is hella uninteresting. The gun's supposed to be the primary way you interact in a shooter, and you could shoop it into a picture with regular old contemporary soldiers and I wouldn't question it. Nothing about this makes me think "Ah yes, this is a Gun from Concord" in the same way as, I dunno, Titanfall 2 or Warframe's guns.

When I first saw this character, I didn't even notice the cybernetic eye, it's so damn small. Why even include a detail like that if most people aren't going to notice it.
I honestly think that the redesigns look worse in this one. Removing the headphones was a mistake imo. Give them back to the first one and maybe add a cape similar to the cape the last one is wearing? Then we're getting somehwere I think.
Hope you continue with the rest. Wondering if you would try to make the female characters wear something with sex appeal since many state that it's the main problem with Concord designs.
I'll definitely try to continue with the rest, and make it into a series or something, it doesn't take me a lot of time, but it's definitely nerve-wracking lol Yeah maybe, although I don't think that's the main problem, and they are technically supposed to be in fighting gear, so I don't think boobas bouncing around would be the way to go, just, making the outfits make a bit more sense, make them more aesthetically pleasing. But yeah, there should definitely be 1 male and 1 female character with sex appeal, I mean, we got nothing, out of all of them, I'd probably bang 1-OFF, and that's kinda ...sad

Since nobody else has said it - his gun is hella uninteresting. The gun's supposed to be the primary way you interact in a shooter, and you could shoop it into a picture with regular old contemporary soldiers and I wouldn't question it. Nothing about this makes me think "Ah yes, this is a Gun from Concord" in the same way as, I dunno, Titanfall 2 or Warframe's guns.
I liked the hooded cape one when it was white the best.

Man your redesigns makes them look genuinely original AND presentable, maybe Concord could've lasted a lot longer with those designs

Thank you for your input on designs, nice to see the videos are picking up attention. Its truly a shame just how boring the designs they made are. Like no real attempt to at least make them stand out in a sea of spectacular designs. **As of my posting this, i wanted to add that this game is literally going down in mere days 😅

You picked a Desert Tech bolt action rifle which is CLOSE in form but not in function. His actually gun is literally just a space Tavor 21/ VHS2 hybrid and its cursed as the rest of his design

When I first saw this character, I didn't even notice the cybernetic eye, it's so damn small. Why even include a detail like that if most people aren't going to notice it.

I honestly think that the redesigns look worse in this one. Removing the headphones was a mistake imo. Give them back to the first one and maybe add a cape similar to the cape the last one is wearing? Then we're getting somehwere I think.

Yeah maybe, although I don't think that's the main problem, and they are technically supposed to be in fighting gear, so I don't think boobas bouncing around would be the way to go, just, making the outfits make a bit more sense, make them more aesthetically pleasing. But yeah, there should definitely be 1 male and 1 female character with sex appeal, I mean, we got nothing, out of all of them, I'd probably bang 1-OFF, and that's kinda ...sad
