You have had an awesome year Gunnar and can’t wait to see what you have for 2022. I am with you the number one has to be the Badgers. Thanks for all your hard work. Cheers Keith
They might not be the most scenic, but pretty much the most rewarding encounter :) I hope this one has some surprises in for me. Wish you the best for 2022, Keith! Cheers, G
Hello Gunnar, I love watching your youtube videos, I am never sure about Instergram but that just me. i do love the Dippers, as they were the one of the first birds with nut hatches that got me into photography way back in the dark ages 1970's. but now retired and tacking more images than ever with better kit than ever. But last year I was one of the meany told that I should not go out for the lats 18 mounts I have only been out of me house a hand full of times. So it is so nice to see so well made youtube content. Thank. Keep well, keep safe and find some time for fun.
Watching your video I understood that we are lead by the same passion, and we make a lot of efforts to take even one picture, but the emotion to stay in nature is always big and unique, and every our effort worth. Happy New Year Gunnar 😉
Thanks for watching along the channel this year, Giuseppe :) I am very fond of the passion I found in nature photography, it has a huge impact on my life, positively. Let us hope for a better 2022, have a good start! Cheers, G
wow!!! Gunnar, You made it and i can feel from your Voice how Happy you are. it has been a Tough year for most but you still made remarkable videos and i really enjoyed it. Wishing you a Happy New Year.
About the photography this year for sure. Every encounter, even if the total amount was not too high, is a great encounter. Thank you, Jai. Looking forward to a better year for all of us!
You had a good year Gunnar. Thanks much for sharing it with us. Look forward to viewing your upcoming projects. I’m not so much into gear talk, but more into the Adventure of the Hunt and the process to get there. Hope you have a Great New Year.
Thank you for your input, Terry. It has been certainly a year with some great wildlife encounters for sure, not entirely sure about the rest of it, but we work on that in the new. Cheers, G
Hi Gunnar, I just came to your channel because Morten told us to look you up. Well thank you to Morten for that tip. I watched a Muskoxen video and this one so far, I am impressed and can't wait to watch more. I loved the Dipper! Absolutely amazing footage and photographs. I am not really interested in seeing gear videos but am definately interested in camera settings you are using for videos and sound recordings as the results are excellent with beautiful colours in the scenery too. All the best for your future, you have heaps of passion! .
Hei Caroline and thanks for the amazing feedback and kind words. The dipper is definitely an animal I will look after when I am back in Norway (already checking the registration pages). Gear videos would have to have a practical use in my opinion, like for example how it works so that I get my videos as they are. Not like "this is better than that", more like "that is what I am looking for in a tripod". I started a format for that, but we will see how I continue that one. Most content will stay as it is though, it seems that is what most people and I enjoy. Thanks again! Cheers, G
Gunner, excellent video quality. As for future videos anything involving snow (we don’t get snow where I live), musk ox, or video tripods would be great. Also, maybe a follow up on the badgers. Maybe you and Morten and/or Trond can go on an expedition together?
Hei Jerry. I will write that down. Certainly will go to Dovrefjell if I can to bring some more snow in here. I’m not sure if the badger can be planned in next summer since I don’t live there anymore and they need a ton of time to get lucky 😅 Still, I try my best! Happy new year! Thanks for commenting. (I hope to meet Trond next year, but there are no concrete plans yet. Still both these guys are pretty busy people! 😅)
The selection was not too hard to be honest. I hope I get some more opportunities than this year. I mean I had a good amount, but some just did not pay off with the best photos while the few that did really did well at that. Happy new year, Ian :)
Thank you so much, Robert. Glad for all you comments this year. Have a good start! I hope I’m not sick anymore in two days, that would already make me happy :P

Gunnar, really glad you are doing so well! With regard to high ISO, I have always said that it is better to have an image with noise than none, and the performance of the Nikon Z6 II at high ISO is spectacular (I think so). All the best for this year.
Thank you, Marcos. I can only agree on the ISO performance, that sensor is really good. I still would like to have a Z7 or something similar for the pixels. Have a good start into 2022!
As a Nikon shooter, its been nice to follow your adventures this year and see what you can do with this camera system, skills and creativity :) Best of luck for 2022 :)
Thanks a lot for a year of outstanding videos and pictures. What I like most about your channel is that your images come together with the experience, the commitment, the dedication and the perseverance in the process of capturing the image. Looking forward to seeing what you will bring us in 2022. Happy New Year!
So I just found this second video of your 2021 work and realise that you are also a romantic, on top of being an excellent film maker and photographer. One piece of advice, don't compare yourself to the others any more. Your quality is so good that you can be your own measure stick. If you think it is good, it is really good. I have never seen badger photos like yours, maybe with the exception of Andy Parkinson and your filming is exceptional, including the music, the quality of images and the general tone. I would love to hear about the equipment you use for both photo and video. I'm a D850 user myself, waiting to see the real Z9 before maybe switching! But I am a complete beginner at video! But in Germany you could do some red deer rut filming. I am sure that would be nice. I live in france and want to try to film the deer rut this fall. Anyways, best wishes for 2022§
That is indeed great advice. I was lately pushing myself to much for no reason. The turnout of my badger program, photo wise, and of the Dovrefjell trip, video wise, has shown me that with the given gear I can produce on such a high standard that I do not have to hide myself in my own shadow. Numbers went up and down on me and it made me suffer, right now I am putting all of that behind me. Hopefully for good, the only thing important is that I am out there or inside producing, that is all I want. I see that I am good at it. I guess you are right, I am a romantic. If you are living in France, where are you from if I may ask? Z9 looks splendid so far, cannot afford it or anything right now. I hope some updates fall of the tree or Nikon starts to like me. I am not planning on staying in Germany for the rut, but if I make it to Trondheim, I might consider going to Hitra next fall. Best wishes to you, too. Cheers, G
@@GunnarDresler Hello again and apologies for a late reply. I live in central France and originally, I am from Norway, so I know Dovre quite well. I also wait for the Z9, but I won't buy it as long as Nikon can't get it to market in sufficient numbers. When you do videos, please don't hesitate to show much more of the individual pictures . They are really good! When you speak, maybe show pictures in the background! Now, I just wait for the dear rut in september. It is really good and completely predictable close to where I live. Have you ever been in contact with Floris Smets? He is dutch and lives in Oesterdalen and has a really good channel. He also does workshops! Maybe something for you? Check him out!
Hello Gunnar, leave your videos as they are. Technology is done by others. I had a lot of fun accompanying you. The picture didn't turn out perfect, but what you give me / us is great. I'm looking forward to the new year. Happy New Year. Godt Nytar. Greetings Edmund
Wait, wait, wait, you wanna say that my pictures are not all perfect? :P I bet most of the content will stay as it is, thanks for your input. Keeping it wild. Happy new year, Edmund :) Glad you are tuning in.
Hello Gunnar, Hello Gunnar, your pictures are perfect. Put badly. That's why I love your videos. The whole story is always important to me. With number 5 I thought of the video and had to think of the cyclist, the look like you lying in the grass. My English is not so perfect that I can tell you better. Greetings Edmund
Don't worry, Edmund, and no need to excuse for your English! I was just joking, and on the other hand, what photo is truly perfect? :D I am glad that you enjoy it so much and that it feels like you can take part that close.
