I Hope it was not too rushed, but I did not want to explain too much? That would be for another one. Thanks!

Thanks for watching! Let me know if I should explain my camera setups more in detail. I am not really happy with my home audio recording right now, so sorry for that detail not being very nice these days. I will find a solution eventually. I wonder who watched the last 5 seconds :D

Thanks a lot for the detailed and informative description of your equipment. I am very impressed with the weight that you carry around on your trips!
I have several questions, if you don't mind. First, food storage: aren't there any critters going after your food? I understand that in Europe, brown bears are rare enough that a bear canister isn't really useful, but aren't there smaller critters what would happily chew their way through your tent and backpack to access your peanuts? Then power solution: is the solar panel really advantageous over extra power banks for a 1 week trip at your latitudes? The weight of power banks to supply enough juice to go through 2-3 camera batteries every day for a week would be about 700g (2x20000maH), and they will provide power regardless of the weather. Finally, I am surprised that in your hygiene section you don't mention sanitation trowels or pack-out solutions. Aren't there strict rules about human waste management in your national parks?

      Hei!
Question 1: nah, not ever had a problems with critters in Norway. The only thing I ever had was a possum trying to get in when I traveled Tasmania. Everybody was possum fighting nananannana
Question 2: my power bank is only 10k, I should have mentioned that. You might be right, but I’m not too sure, normally mine is empty after two batteries so the panel is useful, but my power bank might just have gotten bad over the years. So good reminder!
Question 3: I do not know what pack out solutions are. In general you bury human waste and jungle currency, and don’t leave anything else behind ^^

Great video, as always Gunnar. I’m a birder/photographer and mainly go out for the day but it’s always interesting to see what you would take for a longer trip. Superb scenery in Norway, I’ve been to Lofoten and to Hardangervidda a few years back. Your videos make me want to return, perhaps the Dovrefjell region. Keep the videos coming, I love watching them. 👍 Cheers, Mark.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I knew some people wanted to see it, but I often feel insecure with pure gear videos. It’s not my typical thing ^^
      Where are you, Mark?
Lofoten is sure pretty, but a bit busy for some years now. I’ve been in 2017 for the last time, crazy hitchhike ^^

I’m in Cheshire, England but have been to Norway many times over the years. I spent quite a few years teaching myself Norwegian but have forgotten a lot of it now. We used to enjoy coming over on the Newcastle to Bergen ferry, with our car, but that no longer runs 🙁. Look forward to your next video! Cheers, Mark.

I will be publishing videos still. One thing for sure is though that it will be probably less, I have not decided if the quality stays the same or if the videos get less but longer. I want to concentrate on developing some short movie ideas. I am not really getting that much further on the plattform so far, and I have to justify the time I spend at some point :) I wanna teach more if I can and see where I can use my skill to help.

    Hi Gunnar
Just discovered your channel while looking for Z6ii reviews and browsed through your website as well. What amazing work you have managed to collect over the years. I notice in this video you're using both the Z50 and Z6ii, which are exactly the two cameras I have a question about.
I'm heading off to India on my first Tiger Safari in a couple of months. I've been using the tiny Z50 for a while now and taken it to Kenya and South Africa, but after looking around (and based on personal experience) I believe I need better low light performance in the dense jungle. I was considering upgrading to a Z6ii, but I'm a bit wary about the AF. As far as style goes, I like to believe I enjoy taking shots in a pretty similar way to you (based on your website).
Do you reckon the Z6ii will be able to keep up with slower moving animals (tigers (lets hope for plural), deer, bears etc.)? I'm not bothered about them standing or sitting, but I'm especially concerned when they're coming towards the camera. Is the AF-C of the Z6ii enough to keep up?
Thanks in advance for your reply! I already hit the subscribe button so I'll be looking forward to your next adventures!

      Hei Elias,
First of all, thanks! Glad you are following along.
I Must disappoint you though (not sure if it is the right word) since I do not own a Z6ii, I only have a first gen. So I got. my photos done even with that 😋
From what I know from others about it though is that you should be fine working with moving targets as long as you know how to handle a camera. The Z9 AF certainly works more for you than the one on the Z6ii. It’s not as advanced, but supposed to be fast where you point it😄
Good luck with the Safari! Cheers, G

      Thanks Gunnar
If you’re able to get those kind of results with a Z6, then I should certainly be fine with a Z6ii! :D
Z9 is definitely a step further than other Z-bodies, but I’m afraid it’s a bit too much camera for me (not to mention the price is beyond what I’m willing to invest).
      Thanks for your reply!

@@EliasSix you will get any shot you want with a z6ii… in terms of afc performance its an absolute fantastic camera in single and dynamic modes… its only the eye detect that is not as good as other cameras… your normal focus modes are as good as any! This coming from a d5 owner and 200,000 actuations on my z6ii… you wont be disappointed!

Hey Gunnar another great video. Just a quick question please. What picture profile do you use when vlogging with the Nikon Z50? Do you shoot in a flat profile then colour grade your footage in post?

    • @GunnarDresler
      @GunnarDresler  Рік тому +2

Hey Gary :) thank you! And you’re correct. I’m shooting everything on both cameras in flat profile because it’s the easiest they have for post editing. In the future I hope to use n log with other models, I’m still patiently waiting for a Z8 or third generation. Thanks for tuning in :)
