I just received one of those fantastic maples from the Hackmann nursery, the one that you have advertised so much. The tree along with others has arrived very well and with new shoots that are impressive. Thanks for sharing great info about Hackmann, Nielsen. I’ve bought from both.

@@Acerdorer it will be very interesting to catch the fall colours in both nurseries. I guess the weather there is more colder than here. Also I’ve posted today a new short video where I’ve planted the Wilson’s pink dwarf together with other new maples. This Wilson’s is very hot maple, very small leaves and great branches. The new leaves are a real treasure.
Your Wilson's Pink looks good. Mine did not grow that much this year. Maybe I cut it too much in spring. Hope you will get some nice fall colors, too. I do not have many fall colors yet as it was too warm. Only my Ueno yama is already coloring up a bit and my shigitatsu is already dropping some leaves. I am curious how the trees at Hachmann will like on saturday.
@@Acerdorer maybe you have to drop the idea for another week to visiting Hackmann. The warm weather is keeping the maples alive but you know better if that place is more colder than your balcony. Also I remember the last views of your maples and the new growth on your Wilson’s were “lazy” with less colours. Mine is having 2 days and came from Hackmann with new growth very interesting and I will wait for his fall, must be pretty awesome. Your Ueno Yama always are the first to show something but after this Sunday the weather will change again. The Osakazuki in your parents garden is green or try to change something?
Normally I would wait but I am afraid that a lot of trees will already be sold then because a lot of people come and buy on this special weekend as it is the official fall color event date from Hachmann. My Osakazuki I will also see next weekend but I am sure it also has no fall color yet. I think full fall color red for my Osaka is always in the 1st or 2nd week of November. Now here in Hamburg at 7pm still over 16°C! Def. no trigger for good fall colors. But Sunday should be much colder then indeed.

One of my favourite cultivars, I have had one since it was a tiny twig and it is now about half the size of the specimen you have just showed us.

Great looking tree. Love how the bark stayed green through maturity. How old would you guess this tree is?
Hmm, good question... I really don't know but would guess 12-15 years at least.
