- Part 3 is finally done! Sonic is yet again older and sounds deeper. Story wise: This takes place on Angel Island after the Metal Virus outbreak, where Sonic and co. are tending the wounded.

A minute long video, that's a new record. I just want to thank you for all your support and patience.
I apologize for the absurd gap between this one and part 2. I wasn't initially sure how this video should be visualized, so kinda I winged it and animated as I was figuring it out. It took a few drafts until I settled with a version I'm happy with.
Needless to say, I seriously appreciate your support. And I hope you'll be patient enough to wait for the next one.✌

You know I really love that nod Shadow gave to sonic. I mean it just seems so absolutely right and in character. Shadow may work for certain agencies sometimes but he's a strong individual who often takes his own path and in other ways will see what's right. He completely understood Sonic and I think that's awesome

Exactly what I was thinking. Sonic proved a point that as long as the cure to the virus was somewhere in the city, Gun wouldn't try anymore carpet bombings and harm innocent people, shadow does things for good because of a promise he made to Maria. Seeing sonic making a stand to a clearly corrupted agency he had mad respect for him

With Frontiers having a deeper-voiced Sonic from Roger, as well as what seems to be a much more mature story-line compared to the last decade of games, this doesn't actually seem too far off from what we might get in a month.
Except for the characters shouting bullshit (literally).

Also, I don’t think multiple playable characters is the factor that affects the story. Sonic Unleashed has arguably a more compelling and mature story than games like Adventure 1 or Heroes, and that game started the trend of only playing as Sonic. Good writing is what’s needed for a good story, and I think Ian Flynn will deliver on that.
This feels like it’s almost the Metal Virus, but not quite. It’s a very cool vibe.
More like : the metal virus but it only works in the conventional zombie way- blood born and centered around infecting the brain instead of Turing the host to metal goo….

You'd think that everyone was in character here EXCEPT Rouge, but there IS one particular version of Rouge that might think like this and it's her Archie counterpart.
Remember, she didn't mind risking Blaze's world for their mission and even Shadow was against that

Damn, I've got to get around to read the Archie comics. They sound absolutely wild.
I think that the biggest problem(can't blame the animation since its pulled from another game) is that the scenario doesn't really seem in character. Like I can't really imagine many Sonic characterizations starting out where saving people is just a job for him and he has to learn that he belongs with other people. And while I haven't read Archie, G.U.N in the games have been pretty citizen friendly (excluding the ARK) and they evacuated Central City during the Black Arms invasion.

I was literally thinking the same thing, Archie!Rouge focused more on her own interests. In other cannons, she knows when to cut it out for the greater good.

This is what "character growth" is called and while I wouldn't expect sonic to drop f-bombs or be "this serious" all the time, I kinda wish we could have this in future films or a series, especially with the metal virus saga vibes.

Dying light’s story and roger Craig smith’s performance in the game are underrated. Yeah he sounds the same in a lot of the things he’s in but why fix what ain’t broke.

as someone who's played through the entirety of dying light multiple times, and loves the sonic franchise, i honestly love this series of animations, its kind of amazing. Having take place during the IDW metal virus arc too, just, perfection ^^

*Hopefully. That's hopefully a darker story. It'd be nice to see Sonic Team treating their customers for seriously for a change instead of mindless franchise drones, but we can't forget they pulled this stuff with Forces too.
Well, he did get a deeper voice in this game. Dialogue was still pretty light hearted, though the characterizations themselves were good.

I like the whole concept of this. When you think about it, we may start to see more of this type of Sonic (without the excessive swearing maybe) since Frontiers is looking the way it does
Extra: If you kept up with the news recently, the Japanese website Sonic Channel had removed the age stats from characters profiles, meaning there could be a change with Sonic and his friends' ages or they're correcting them
I think people are kind of sick of Sonic being 15 just so that he can't have sexual encounters when he's out saving the world every week.
I did notice that! I think it's a good change so fans can interpret the characters how they want without confusing canon age.

recently, sonic and his friend's ages were removed from sonic channel so they might be changing their age by the looks of it. Sonic's voice is a little more mature in frontiers so that might be it
I like how shadow nods to sonic to show respect here. During the metal virus saga it feels like he was just angst...
The animation here is incredible, I love the emotions displayed through subtle movements. Especially in Shadow's case, you can tell his whole demeanor by his facial features and how he acts. This is incredible story telling, and you've done spectacular at making something so interesting just by a single line of dialogue!
Sonic stories before 06 split the fanbase.
You can imagine a lot about the characters with these 3 videos if you think about them like some sort of timeskip...
An angrier Sonic who is fucking done of all the shit he already has gone through.
A more quiet and humble Shadow who acquired great respect for Sonic
And a Rouge who got more focused and serious about her job as a GUN agent over the years

I'm surprised at how well the dialogue from Dying Light fitted with Sonic.
I just wacht the first animation you upload, and I can see how much you grow up, the animation it's more clean, the colors match, and of course the movement is more fluid and believable as a "movement" if you know what I mean. It's amazing buddy, keep it up ♡
I love the way the background characters are designed. Make our main characters stand out BUT don't make the outside bland, so they all together feel like from the same world.

Most are talking about the voice but I think the design is going hand in hand with it because regular sonic would feel off but the re-design definitely makes it awesome
