Fantastic tips! Thank you! The tip about acetate was a great discovery. Perhaps you might like it with rounded corners. Also, re the plastic pencil sharpener, perhaps after 4 years, it was time to get a new one rather than keep replacing blades. Thanks for identifying Derwent China white as your opaque, wax-based white pencil. It's such a pleasure to learn so much from you. Your drawings are amazing. God bless you!
I have spent a small fortune on pencil sharpeners, from the grinding type to the handheld type. I was desperate one day and grabbed one from my local newsagents. It's a 100% metal one and about the cheapest there is - under $2. It's the best pencil sharpener I've ever had and I've even been able to sharpen Prismacolor pencils without them breaking. I haven't tried it on Pitt pastels yet though.
I love your art and your tips!! They’ve helped me so much in drawing animals I just got some polychomos and I’m learning ho ego use them from your videos tysm!!
Hi. Thank you for all your wonderful tutorials. You are such an amazing artist I’m so impressed with your work. I’ve just gotten into colored pencils lately and I use a piece of white Styrofoam from a meat tray that has been well washed with the sides cut off ..Works great!
Thanks for all the tips! I've recently had problems with my KUM sharpener too? I now use a cheap electric sharpener and it works perfect every time! Sometimes the cheap ones are better, just gotta investigate 🤣
Thanks, great information as usual. I use that Kum 2 step sharpener because the toxic shavings , when outdoors, won't be falling on the soil. I already have 2 Kum metal sharpeners for in the 'studio'.
@@jessicamatheneyfineart Thank you for your quick response & idea that I will make note of for the future. I love the part of this video that wax based white pencils have a place in your art.

Awesome, thanks for sharing! Metal ones are the best! I will still use KUM's replacement blades for my other sharpener because they have been great.

Have you tried using artist's gloves, or half finger summer gloves? I find them easier than using something under my hand
I use nonstick foil on my drawing instead of other kinds......I'm not sure if its good idea to use foil instead of clear plastic or white sheet .
where do you buy the blades???? what kind??
I added them to the supplies list in the video description. Here's the link: KUM Replacement Sharpener Blades amzn.to/3l4wHzV
