I only just realised the other day that playing this game as an 8 year old probably set me on the path for my appreciation of the survival horror genre as an adult. I mean, this game is essentially just ‘baby’s first Resident Evil’.
That seems to be a common thing with horror games actually. They tend to be very short and the puzzles and shit just bloat them out for first time players.
I used to replay it all the time cause it was so short and I had memorized literally everything. I hated the last 2 chapters though. They were too short and easy

Monster house was such an underrated film. Honestly a flawless movie if you ask me. I loved it as a kid and even as an adult I still think it's awesome.
I love how they acknowledged the real life Alec Baldwin boss battle. I immediately thought about the jokes about him on this channel when I heard the news about the accident.
@@klee4803 It’s sad to see that this movie is done by a motion capture company called Image Movers, they also did Polar Express, Beowulf, Disney’s Christmas Carol and Disney’s Mars Needs Moms. Mars Needs Moms was a awful mocap film, so the motion capture part of Image Movers shut down because of how bad it was. Disney was planning on doing a motion capture remake of The Beatles Yellow Submarine, was scrapped thanks to the failure of Mars Needs Moms.
@@JakeTheComicBookDude damn I didn't know that. I remember watching mars meets mom when I was little and liked it, but I will have to rewatch it 😂 thats really sad tho I didn't know they shut down, now my childhood is ruined
I remember my dad taking me and my brothers to see this movie. I legitimately remember absolutely nothing about it aside from how I thought the characters looked weird.
Anyone else remember playing the “Thou Art Dead” game on the Monster House website? Or the amazing website for this movie overall? One of my earliest exposures to this game, too.
Had this game for the ps2, and we kept getting stuck on the one part in the attic with the mannequin. Took my aunt to help my brother and i beat it. And once we finally did, never played the game again. Also it scared the crap out of me
You know what they should’ve said to Chowder, “Chowder, you had some of your parents special ‘juice’ and now your seeing things inside of a stranger’s house.”
I know you guys joke about people saying “what are you talking about this game was my childhood” but I honestly do remember liking this game as a kid on my GameCube also you joke about a TV monster there is a TV monster in the game

I actually played this game for the GamrCube. I thought Monster House was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. The game was like a kid friendly version of Resident Evil. Especially RE4 since the original was new at the time.

i remember having this game genuinely was so scared to play it and when i did i got way to scared at the part where you play as chowder and he’s like stuck in the basement area i believe
I remember playing this game when I was 8 or 9 and I enjoyed it best part is because of this game I got into Silent Hill series I got the game and the ps2 I’m 23 but I might replay this someday
I remember playing this as a kid. Loved the movie for some reason. Looking now the game was weird and bizarre. Sure it tickled a few nerves in my brain but as long as it's getting some recognition. Also for people who also played it, was the quick time running event near the end of the game where the kids are running from the house too easy or is it just me
Halloween: Great for kids, great again for college students, but in the years following both phases, there's a good amount of guilt about trying to recapture that same communal holiday joy when instead you just end up sitting alone, stressing about the costume you won't throw together right up until the Trick or Treaters start to show up. Ah, the Holiday Season...
There was one time where I just had a dream about a monster house video game despite having never playing this or even knowing it existed. Pretty weird, but I will say I like how the art style of the movie actually translated well to a ps2 game
I got another movie to add to my Halloween roster, also Constance was a giant lady in a side show that got assaulted in her cage by kids before nebercracker saved her and devoted himself to make her happy, the day she died kinda triggered some ptsd when she was egged. The only thing I wished for the game to have was mini quests and the house being a shorter venture since a majority of the movie is outside
I like the idea of living furniture and other objects that attack people that enters the living house. It's like that they're a immune systems hunting the viruses.
This Halloween… I got dressed up … i got candy … but then i got ultra exhausted. So i had a nap , then watched lots of Simpsons Halloween episodes. I have no energy anymore…

It took me along time to beat it to I was stuck at some point and as a kid I was to stupid to figure it out
