@@mikeg2491that’s actually an interesting discussion in graphic design. For video games, it’s easy to make realistic looking environments (or rather very possible… not easy), but not easy to make animals or humans look full blow realistic. The reason being is we are so used to looking at our dogs, cats, and each other, that our brains know what a “realistic looking” person looks like. In comparison to trees, however, we mainly only glance at them in real life and don’t fixate as much attention, resulting in trees or mountains in games looking more realistic than humans. Yeah having a low budget game with terrible graphics is way more enjoyable then modern day game with ultra gaphics huge budget and a massive team of writers and developers i think its too much money and too many people crowding over one project that really kills any creativity and individualism
That's what I was thinking. The whole point of the show as is that the Soprano crew were a bunch of New Jersey bums in track suits that the elite New York mobsters in suits spat on. a game where you're navigating low level neighborhoods, and dealing with New Jersey's street hustles instead of New York skyscrapers would've been a good change of pace.
Kill a guy, but there's a witness so you've gotta kill the witness. When you kill the witness, there's a witness, so you've gotta kill that witness. & when you kill that witness, there's a witness to that murder. Original guy you were supposed to kill? A witness.
I have to admit I'm 5:30 into this video and this game doesn't look horrible, it looks hilariously amazing. Getting people sandwiches and beating the crap out of innocent people is legitimately the existence of most of the Sopranos supporting cast. lol.
I like how ,in order to dispose of the body of a man the protagonist didn't mean to killed, the game made them go into a killing spree, murdering every poor soul that had the bad luck to be in their path. That's what I call a mission design
I like how they throw the dead body into a canal. They must be like Ricky and think the lake cleans and filters the trash he throws into it, because the next day it’s gone.
Stumbled back into this after a year, and my opinion remains the same.. the game may be awful, but man, the missions absolutely get The Sorpanos. No guns blazing shootouts with crooks, just slamming drunks heads into urinals and screwing up dumping the body.
Sometimes being a simple linear game isn’t a bad thing, just crack a few heads like a old school beatem up while listening to some great Sopranos lines, sounds like a decent afternoons entertainment if you score the game for a few bucks.
You're not talking about the Mind Pulp guys are you? My brother and I always shit on them for how annoying they can be, and that we were watching for the unique subject matter of fucking bad obscure licensed game reviews.
I was literally looking at everything sopranos related even the game just last night not even knowing that the damn thing would be reviewed 24 hrs later and I agree on the terms that the game wasn't the best designed but as a platform game it wasn't all that bad
This game is basically a rather dumbed down version of Yakuza and Shenmue with The Sopranos brand slapped on it and assets from the Fantastic 4 movie game
I'm not sure what to think of this game generally, but I did like the added sub-story (if that's even a word) of the main guy being Pussy's long lost son. I mean, who'd he even knock up, some random stripper/escort who needed to be more careful?
I’m honestly surprised they didn’t have you kill the drink when I so clearly remember the episode where Ralphie beats the stripper to death in the parking lot
"I woke up dis mornin, got some gab a gool. Den I woke up da next day and I got sum, a gab a gool. Keep wakin up keep gettin different kinds of gab a gool..."

Hey guys! Just wanted to say how much I love your videos and how much joy and entertainment they bring to me and my life. I think it was a video or two ago where you mentioned ‘scooby doo knight of 100 frights’, and that was my very first game as a child on my very first system, the ps2. If you were to review this game and expose all the flaws i failed to realize due to being a child or even later on due to nostalgia, it would be a dream come true. Thank you again guys for everything you do to bring us happiness.
I’m one of the biggest Sopranos fans you’ll ever meet. I own one of the bricks from Satriale’s Pork Store and even got it signed by Gandolfini and the only reason I’ve ever even stepped foot in the state of New Jersey was to see shooting locations from the show. Even I thought this game was absolute garbage.
Man, what a subtle gameplay over here! It's like "Scarface: The World Is Yours" game, but with improved fighting system. The main character somehow looks like Aldo Trapani from "The Godfather: The Game". I don't know about the others, but seeing James Gandolfini -- the late star of "The Sopranos" TV series in PS2 graphics just made me happy. If any person thinks that the characters in this game are not beautiful then they should just see the ones that the developers of "Hitman: Contracts" offers player to kill. Tony Soprano here is hardly Sturrock "The Meat King"...
The game is actually pretty good. Just too linear. Graphically, it looks like a PS2 game. What did you expect. Hell the GTA games didn't look much better.. The criticism seems forced for laughs. Nice try though.
I'm sure in the height of the Sopranos and PS2 craze this game was just a cash grab. With the actual voices of the actors it could have been something special but was probably rushed out. The opening scene with Tony was well done and probably used as a sales pitch-and then the quality goes drastically down. It was probably rushed out for Christmas much like Atari's 'E.T' was.
I think the fact the cast from the show gave their voice to the game is amazing
