Pretty sure we've got original Cranium somewhere; though I guess the playdoh might have dried out... I'll have to see if I can find it next time the family come over.
It does dry out crazy fast. Many years ago when I first got it I'd try to rehydrate it and work the moisture back into it but that was too much work so I just switched to actual Play-Doh.
I grew up with Cranium Cadoo, which in my day was the one for children. This one sounds more for adults or teens with how complex some of the activities and clues are.
That game is why I always thought Cranium was like a game for 5 years olds and didn't understand why my other tween friend always wanted to play LOL Wasn't until I accidentally bought the teen version for my nephews I realised it had different age versions
I love party board games, but every time I have to explain the rules to my friends it drives my patience up the wall. It’s so hard to get them to pay attention.
It helps for this game that the instructions for each task are on each card. You don't need to go over all the types beforehand like Sungwon did in the video. The only basics you need everyone to understand beforehand is when to roll the die/move the piece (only roll after you get an answer correct and purple means you get to pick)
God, I have vivid childhood memories of playing this years ago with the family. Good times. Also, what's up with the chatGPT-ish bots with ass profile pictures in the comments? It's a fucking plague lol
My partner and I recently discovered that the copy of Cranium was the TEEN version (16 an up) when we attempted to play it with my nephews and the very first card was Robot Chicken 😅 we ended up adapting the game by giving each tean many extra hints and ignoring the All Play mode on cards We later played it at a game night with fellow 30ish olds and we still found it QUITE challenging! We had a blast though! I think we can safely expect it to be on rotation for future game nights :)
One thing that I always liked about Cranium is that it it appeals to different types of board game players. Those who like to do creative activities have their chance to shine as well as people who are better at trivia and puzzles.
I also thought the green and yellow were the same color (and I'm also definitely not color blind, I've taken online color blindness tests and gotten perfect scores). I wonder if they actually look that similar irl or if it just looks that way on camera.
I played this as a kid, maybe around 6th grade? Played it with my older sister and her friend I think. There was some word I didn't know or understand, and they thought it was funny so they laughed, and I felt pretty embarrassed. The branding at the time was how it was a game for your whole brain or something, which did not help the feelings I felt at that time.
1:16 idk if it’s the camera, the game, or my eyes but I can’t distinguish between green and yellow here. I genuinely thought there were just extra yellow spaces
I love Cranium but this round board looks lame. For anyone looking to buy Cranium I suggest you look at other videos that shows gameplay from the original board because it's a lot more fun. Although this version did add some new categories, so you won't find those in one of the older versions.
Ooh, I remember the original one... and now I feel old :P
Same. I completely forgot about this game.
Same
Ah, I can still smell that nasty purple playdough...

Ngl, weekends must be very fun with him with all the board games this guy has

god I remember the cranium zoo game so fondly
cranium is awesome, so cool how they’ve updated it!!
I've played this game once many years ago but I still remember it. Damn good game!
I'm not color blind but I didn't realize there was a green at first lol.
Maybe you are. Red-green colorblindness is not that hard to not notice until adulthood
might as well take a color blindness test, won't take too long!

@@ishimarooo After he said green I then noticed they indeed weren't the same color. They are just very close to me. Could be a camera things.

I also remember this aspect of humming a popular song I didn’t know and everyone made fun of me for not knowing it

You should do another Pokémon ranking for Gen 9
