Good job. Again. I recently found a second hand (a clothing shop friend nearby) E7440 with i7 and 1080p screen. It stays cool with movies and light work. With games it gets hot and I consider an extra hole for its cooling. A funny note is that it had Arabic Windows 10 Pro and I kept the license after installing the English. It's a good moveable clone of my other computers. I paid around €250 for it and cleaned a lot on the bezel/keyboard which are acceptable now. Later I added 120 Gb mSATA to the 120 Gb SSD in it for Linux reasons.
I did exactly the same. I have got 4gb and was so slow 😬 so add extra 4gb, and it is much better and change thermal paste. But still I got cpu temp arround 50° on wind 10 🤷♀️ before was almost all time 80-90 (before upgrade ram). I didn see exactly cpuz what you are doing it was too far camera to see . I use paste Husky Natec +
Hii I have DELL Latitude E7240. There is problem with installed windows 10. When I pressed clicked USB storage devices for there is error after clicking this options. "BOOTMGR is missing" This is error shows every time when i clicked for boot. Can you tell how to solve this issue. I searched on google but didn't find the specific solution.
I've got an E7440 with an Intel Core I7 as well, problem is that when i bought it the cpu was all the time stuck on 0.78 GHZ in the task manager. Then I removed the screw under the C in the keyboard. Now it is faster but the problem is that is heating very much and it is not really stable. How can i fix this problem? Thank you very much!

I would buy a DELL, because I prefer them.
You should also check and clean the dust, if there is any, between the fan and the heatsink. Dust loves to live there .

Yes, that is about a 5 to 10% boost in speed for memory intensive tasks. Dual channel is the way to go when it's possible.
Have exact laptop like that and it gets very hot and burning smell comes out of it , that annoys me...need help
You need to open it up, change the termal paste, clean the cooling and check if the fan is working.
