It's difficult to find real genuine friends that are not jealous.
Yes, I had to break up with my best friend of 10 years in May. It just was no longer a good environment and it put me in bad situation. I told her I am unfortunately not able to continue this friendship. I did get a very strong backlash from her, but it was time.

I ended up my friendship (long distance) 15 years... because it became hard to be in a relationship with someone who doesn't care to contact you anymore as much as you do, we used to talk 24/7 but now she disappears and doesn't care how much I miss her and worry about her and wait for her, ( I am busy with my life too but I can find some minutes at least to reply on someone instead of being absent for months! ) I used to excuse her to be exhausted and stressed with life problems and university studies but it's been 9 years and she finally graduated but still doesn't care to talk to me ( talking is the only thing we have to keep thid relationship alive ) ! I have been sooo patient and understanding like no one can and I had enough when I realized she actually had the time to talk to me but she chose other people who weren't even good for her, it crashed me! I really lied on myself to believe that she cares and she's just too busy to text me for ONE minute at least ... when I told her that I want to end the friendship and blocked her she came with another account and she apologized sincerely and I did to her the same and I disappeared for months to make her feel what I feel and she actually did feel me ... but I answered her now after months like nothing happened and she's back to disappear for days, weeks and months! nothing changed! I think I will block her forever even if she's a good person! I don't need a good person who is not actually in my life!
Even though she likes me and she's a really kind and good person! But I don't feel happy the way our relationship is and I did EVERYTHING to make it work and to make it get back the way it was! I will slap her with my words! I will be harsh with my words for the first time to make her wake up and block her!
There are a lot of feminine men who do this too. Being controlling about your appearance and slandering you is only a part of it, it’s only the tip of the iceberg and so walk away.

Yes😂, this was so good! It reminds me of so many toxic women that either I or my friends have dealt with. I gradually learned how to mostly weed these people out of my life and also got more boundaries. They can’t stand women with a great everyday style, even when they eventually try and copy you. I don’t mind if they copy because that’s the sincerest form of flattering or compliment, but they don’t have to try adding the toxic elements you described. I’m actually surprised looking back on how much this actually helped me cut people off that weren’t worth it in so many other ways.

Oh my gosh Lisa - perfect example of shifting the dynamic!! I get that stupid comment from women all the time ‘oh I don’t have time to dress up etc’ (uhh hum cough - rubbish, this means they are jealous, lazy or they think they can’t!) and I find myself always justifying myself. It’s pathetic! I will take your advice and put it back in them by saying things like ‘where are you going with this?’ Thank you. Genius! 👌🏻👌🏻

Reluctantly I went to a work dinner one night after hearing about the previous ones, most were really nice and dressed up for the evening. I had comments from colleagues how they liked my dress etc, except for one who said “you don’t get out much do you” they were not dressed up.
Real friends are honest. And they love you too. When you do something shitty, they will tell you, to help you reflecting and learning from it. And they like and love you the same time. A real friend has always the best intentions in his heart for you. And it shpuld be the other way round.
When someone is mean to you it's another thing! That is toxic.
I was always the plain Jane, and still feel like I am, but when I do take care of myself, I feel like a queen. Ppl do get jealous of my looks, but I literally just take care of myself. & then when women want to compete with me or belittle me, That disgusts me. Like I’m literally on my own journey I could care less about competing who has the better what. I’m content and happy with the life God has given me.

I ended a friendship with a friend years ago. She became a bad influence and pushed me over after I had an operation on my arm and laughed at me. She got jealous of me spending my time with people from college. Back when I thought she was a regular person, we talked about moving in to an apartment. She became a bit obsessed with my life, where I was in college and the course I was doing. When I told her we couldn't be friends, she completely list the plot and screamed and screamed. A few weeks later I saw her in a store, she started screaming at me that I ruined her life. I just walked away. I was so glad to get her out of my life.

Just right in time: I was in the talking stage with a guy and we both agreed that it's ultimately not a match, and since then we had very little to no contact. I still had some of his stuff in a bag and went out of my way and even did him a favor by bringing the bag to a place where he could easily access it without meeting each other. Instead of thanking me he responded with psychoterror, really trying to put me down, telling me I'm not even worth having a situationship with, I'm too much drama (wtf??) and so on. At the same time he more or less demanded to have "normal" contact with me. It was reeeaaally hard to respond to that in a calm way and with dignity. Well, unfortunately our paths will cross again in the future, but I will try to picture you in my head, fabulous and with the tea cup in hand, to get my mind in the right frequency to deal with this toxic guy in a composed manner and don't be flustered by this rude behaviour. 👸
I typically ghosted and change my contact info, since I didn’t feel like I should have to explain to grown people how a decent person should behave, and I didn’t have the energy to spend on trying to communicate since I was already dealing with enough on my own. If there is another situation, communicating in your way could be a good idea. Some people are worth it, others are not.

My so call best friend was narcissistic, after so many years of friendship i ended the friendship.
My now ex friend would often tell me how to dress etc. I’m tall, slim, have a nice husband and do well for money. She’s a bit basic and struggles but at her own making. She wanted to just hang about my house. Her house was always messy. She struggled with her hair due to dying it bright colours too often. I have long healthy hair. She’d often try to convince me to have my hair cut short. She’d also tell me how baggy clothes would suite me. She’s frumpy and wears mumsy clothes. The last straw was her telling me how I should be politically. I blocked her out my life. She owes me money too. Look out for the ugly little poor ones. They’ll try to drain the life out of you!

The friends thing. We live in a southern state. Went to a waterpark and couldn't believe some of what I saw. Each to their own, but NO I don't want my daughter with nose rings, tattoos, and plastic things in her ears. I hate to tsay this, but things are a little red neck around here. I don't know if maybe we should move. Or is it like this all over these days with young girls. I just feel like I've put in a lot of effort with her and she deserves more. Around here, it's the sports sweatshirt at the restaurant, the crocs, and well. I may not be a diva, but as the Mom. I just feel like there is a huge LOSS of femininity around here.

Seems like you may have some control issues. You could just state your peace to your daughter, and let it be known that under your roof she needs to follow your rules as far as those things you mention, and do so without judgement of others choices. The world isn’t going to stop doing what it’s doing because you don’t like it.
