Crazy Thing Called Love was kind of Rockability which Elvis started with so, Elvis being so loved in the states , I can see how that song was so popular in the states.
Michael Jackson did draw a lot of inspiration from Queen, that is why you can hear some of Another One Bites The Dust in Billy Jean. He also said he was inspired by Queen's Hot Space album, but rock fans hated the album. Artists have always mixed and combined different music, it is visible from the early days with Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Elvis. Queen took that concept much further then most, but it has always been done. I think it has actually become much worse these days in some ways. The 90's you could hear any style of music on top 40 pop stations. Pop in those days just meant music that was popular no matter the genre. You could get country, reggae, grunge, singer songwriter, R&B, rap, hip hop, rave, techno, metal and even classical music with a pop sound. There was a much larger variety of music. The 1996 communications act, completely destroyed the music industry, it is hanging on by it's last threads. Music sales have really taken a massive nosedive these last two decades. Music should be selling more, since there are more people, but it is selling far less. Each radio format has been distilled into a very specific formula. Queen always had a very difficult relationship with the music press. The Rolling Stone Magazine wrote one of their worst ever, for Queen's Jazz album, and it is a great album. Here is the review: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/jazz-188987/ They basically insulted Queen for being good musicians, and a few other things. It is like that musical critic said, they were taking musical icons and legends and they were rubbishing them. In those days without the internet these magazines were very important, they could play a large role in your success or downfall. Despite all of their attempts to rubbish Queen, they just kept on doing well. I think the musical press are far more careful these days, and people pay far less attention to them.
I know I am late to the game but I so enjoyed this series. I had seen the documentary before, alone, during the pandemic-lol. This was like getting to watch it with someone. Great reactions!
Thanks for doing this. Great reaction series. Love the commendation on their music. Keep up the great work. Appreciate you and this channel. From a big, big Queen fan ❤️❤️❤️
My sister treated me to the Halloween’78 show in New Orleans, which was an especially exuberant performance. Unfortunately didn’t make it to the infamous party! This is such a great documentary. You deserve a lot of credit for doing it. Thank you!
Yeah, that one critic irritated me the first time I heard him too. I mean, is he like, "Hey Pink Floyd, why did you call your album "Animals" when you're human beings?"
I'm begging you listen to what you are showing. Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing in the bath in ten minutes. Rushed to the studio and said hurry up before Brian gets here cause he will hate it. But you are too busy showing off. I'm 53 and buddy you act like you know it all. I've been loving this band way before you.

Awesome! Roger is right about Queen not being fashionable-they transcend fashionable along with everything else!
That particular “expert” is a first class snob.

You should check out the story of Brian May and his father building his guitar. "The Red Special "
I’m still wiping tears from the last segment when Brian was talking about his father!! 😭
Rolling Stone magazine also hated Led Zeppelin
So glad you did this. Love from Scotland ❤❤
I LOVE the JAZZ album. It is even than what Roger said.

Critics are dumb. I always say dont listen to them. Make your own decisions.

L7V IT - THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME XOXOXO
I love that you hate that little creep from Melody Maker. Rolling Stone was probably the worst, though. I never read Rolling Stone. Crap.
Brian wrote Fat Bottom Girls not Freddie.
100 .000 copies the sigle never Grammy 🤬

Mack said "hurry before Brian gets here otherwise it takes a little longer". Brian wanted everything to be perfect.
I don’t think he is showing off .I think he really gets it and loves Queens music.
Exactly
Brian was crying about making his dad happy but you missed that because YOU TALK OVER WHAT THEY ARE SAYING.
