- This is showcasing some good driving and some not so good driving of my team. I've learned a lot along with my team full time horse logging and still have a whole lot left to learn. I absolutely love this work and learning along the way. Any tips or tricks you know about, leave a comment and let me know.

Nice logs
Very good video thanks
Fascinating to watch. There were still a few old farmers that farmed with horses in my neighborhood when I was a kid and I’ve always wanted to learn how it was done but have never had the opportunity. I get my fix from videos like this. Thanks for making them.
You are very welcome. Thank you 😊 Hope you have a great day
Das sieht super aus man kann nur lernen davon. Gruß Bernhard
The driver has to learn his horses and vice versa. It is truly a partnership. I think you're doing an amazing job with those horses. It's becoming a lost art. I'm beginning to see why, in the early days of tractors, why a lot of people resisted switching to using machines. Horses have so much more finesse than a steel machine does. After a while they learn what you want and they do it. Machines can't do that.
All that is so true. So few of us out here making a living this way anymore. Appreciate the comment. Have a great evening.
Just started watching your videos. Nice work 👍
Thank you. Appreciate that! 😊
Thank you so much for this content. Really helpful I haven't made the plunge yet but am working towards getting a team and could use as much information as I can get.
That's awesome. If you can find a local mentor to learn from it really helps so much when getting started. Good luck! 😊
That was mighty nice
Thank you sir
Mighty good team but a little risky on the driver's part. Ferge is a mighty good mentor !
It can be but it's worth it to me. Have a good one sir 😊
it's ok he's tough and not too smart😆😁
Good stuff some horese are harder to drive than others
I'm amazed that just two horses can pull 6 oak logs that large. Do you sometimes have 16ft or longer logs to cut into boards or beams?
Generally but on the rare occasion. 😊
Cool video ,very nice job ,getting them logs stacked like that. How it just rolls right on up, you may have explained this before but how is the chain hooked up to get them to roll right on up. Thats a good pull to the landing.
I haven't done a video on that yet but I'll try to get one made sometime. Thanks for the comment. 😊
@downthetraillogging that would be great to see sometime, thanks. I recently got a new team,5 n 6 yr old percheron geldings, that has been worked on the farm with machinery etc. They have done a little logging. I would like to work them just doing a some small logging on my farm,it would just be single log pulls on the ground as I don't have a wagon to load.
I like percheron and those are nice ages. Take your time and try to keep them from jerking and you'll be way ahead of the game. Be safe out there. Thanks for watching
