Thanks OTW!! After rewatching, I kind of think I can start chaining some behaviors and go longer in between "click and feeds". What say you?

@@becomingcowboy I say "go for it!", she will tell you if she's ready so watch her emotions for any frustration or mental disconnection....and, remember to be intermittent as you go and still sometimes reinforce something she does really well that you think she doesn't need reinforcement for...still reinforce those things intermittently so they get even stronger. Some of these things she knows well can become secondary reinforcers over time. You'll have to figure out which ones she likes doing the most and then you can ask for one of those things and then reinforce something after that with food again. Keep it changing back and forth so you're not just asking for more and more in between reinforcements, you ask for more for a time or two and then go back to asking for less in between reinforcing, vary it so it's interesting and fun for her to play the game. Over time you'll naturally have more and more time in between reinforcing, but still go back intermittently and reinforce the simple basic things she does well.

GREAT JOB AT READING YOUR HORSE, PAD & SADDLE PLACEMENT. MAKING EXPERIENCES FOR THEM GOOD ONES!!! WHAT STATE ARE YOU IN? 🐴

Thank you for that encouragement! Yes, as Shawna Karrasch encourages, I try to keep my horses "under threshold", frustration free, and loving the time I spend with them. The trick for me is to find a way for them to love what I am asking them to do!

@@becomingcowboy WHEN I LOST MY SISTER TO CANCER IN 2021 & GOT BACK TO HEALING WITH HORSES, I TOOK A LOT OF VIDEOS. I SPENT SO MUCH ALONE TIME WITH THEM JUST GROOMING OR SITTING ON THE HAY TROUGH AS THEY ATE. WHEN YOU BOND & THEY TRUST & ACCEPT YOU AS A PART OF THEIR HERD THERE ARE NO TRICKS NEEDED, THEY WILL FOLLOW OFF YOUR ENERGY & INTENTION THEY READ. IT'S HAPPENED IN SO MANY HORSES I WORK WITH. THEY RESPOND TO ME JUST FROM WHAT YOU SHOW THEM A HUMAN CAN GIVE. I'M IN WI BUT REALLY TRYING TO FIND MY PLACE, THINKING ABOUT A MOVE TO TN. I'M AT MY HAPPIEST SURROUNDED BY ANIMALS & IT'S LIFE AT IT'S BEST FOR ME. WHEN YOUR HONEST IN YOUR INTENTIONS ANIMALS ABSOLUTELY KNOW IT. LEAD WITH YOUR HEART AS IT'S FROM ONLY 4FT THEY FEEL YOURS!! 🙂
