Nice presentation of your work with horses, it reminded me a lot to my grandfather's work on his farm and during the winter in the woods. I still have a all his machines and collars and harnishes and I keep it all in honor. I wish I could practice logging but my knowledge to do that right is not enough. I regret my granddad passed away too early ( I was only a small child).
Please keep going on in that way you 've already done it and remember as you already said: The Horses are the stars - they have to be treated and fed very well.
Many greetings from Germany and God bless

Garry,Well done. I'm a city slicker, but this was very informative and nicely presented. It is impressive to see how these bighorses respond, and with such agility to your commands. Yours looks like a good team. Keep safe. Thanks very much.

Spectacular stand there Gary; Oregon, Washington, and Northern California were made to grow wood. Everything else is just an after-thought.

very observant woods gremlin....l put it on that way so it would cover a small sore that otherwise would of rubbed on the collar directly...plenty of room at airway and the sore disappeared in a wk...thanks for the comment

You do not have a Clue about fire. The slash needs to be burned or chipped/ Your lake of tree knowledge is scary. The little trees are the same age as the larger tree.. Get a book.

well james u are right the slash should be burned but that is another expense the land owner did not want to cover...This is a small operation on 20 acres...Thinning for growth is a good thing. Cant always have it all. Good luck chipping 20 acres on a shoestring budget with horses. i would be paying the landowner to work. You are the clueless one. Wow you could of said thats awesome your working with horses and saving trees. Nope just sarcism.Back at u.
