- We take an in-depth look at Hikvision UK & Ireland access control solution, focusing on the door controller unit and the readers, along with the functionality of the IVMS-4200 software.
Hopefully by watching this you can get a good idea of what the ACU is, reader types, software support and how it all works.
We have tried to cover as much as possible in this short video. As always we welcome feedback and look forward to hearing your experiences with the solution. We used the DS-K2602 2 door ACU & DS-K1103MK & DS-K1104MK readers.

hi. do i need a dedicated PC at the clients location or can i use my personal pc to set it up and just walk with my laptop when i need to do maintenance

I have 750 mifare 1kb cards to add. I tried to add them via an excel doc and import it. No joy. The cards have batch numbers on them that can be added to other access systems but don’t seem to have any significance to the Hik system. If I add the cards one by one via a reader they work as the mifare number is different. Is there a way to Expedite this process. Does the wiegand/485 wiring make a difference. Thanks
Your videos have been super helpful! I do have a question - At 22:22 of this video your search results display the card details for Enter/Exit logs. Running the latest version of iVMS-4200 as of this post with all features installed, the details in the Event Center do not show any card details. The only way I see this is the Monitoring tab, but if the app closes for any reason, all of that data is lost. Even emailed events are generic, no indication of the card or person. Where can I find a log of who entered, instead of just that an entry occurred?
Hi bejamin and thanks for the kind words, can you verify the 4200 version please?, also under event centre and search events , if you change the search option to be access control and then select that device does that then enhance the log for you?
how yo teach the reader to read the card ,you can see the reader in ivms4200 ? i have connected a ds-k1201mf fingerprint/card reader to ds-kv8413-wme1 4post outdoor intercom , and i cant even figure out where and how can i see the reader connected on rs485 ! so the led on reader shows that the rs485 connection is ok is constant red .
Any clue ???

Hey , you can configure and use up to 64 doors in IVMS-4200, past this we need to use HIK-Central , but IVMS-4200 is still very powerful for access control so you don’t need HIK-Central specifically

There are RS-485 connections on the left side and bottom also. You connected both readers on bottom connection. What is the difference between both connections?
correct there are 2 types of RS-485 , the reader Rs-485 connection is already made of at the bottom connectors , as well as having another set on the top left, the bottom uplink RS-485 is to link controller - to - controller 😊

How long is the data kept on the event log? How far back can you search?
It depends on the setting , it will follow the NVR storage days also

Is it possible to connect about 10 fingerprint access control device to a Network Access Controller DS-K2602-G terminal ?.... if it is , plz explain.
Hi , the max we do is a 4 door ACU , if you have Read in and Read out then that is 8 readers, if you just want 10 single doors with Fingerprint then you can use 2 x 4 door , + 1 x 2 door ACU and wire the Belden cable from the reader location to the ACU reader input , does this make sense?

Would i be able to pull a report or take a quick look at who is in the building ? SO if i go to security where this IVMS is installed and they can eisily tell me there are 20 people in the building and who they are?
Hi , you can see the data but its not as easy as showing “ only in building now “ option, for this we have it in HIK-Central , I will look to see if I can find a cheat inside 4200 to make it easier

Yes, with in the app there is an open door function
Hello there! I have one question about iVMS-4200, can we add and remove users from two different computers and different network or everything needed to be done from one place and one computer??
Hi , as IVMS-4200 is run as single instance its done from the same place , if multi stations are required I would use HIK-Central and use the client on each PC needed, this is licensed but will achieve what you want 😊

I have a DS-K1T804EF terminal and I am using a secure port module DS-K2M060, I am not able to communicate with the 804 when the button is opened, it does not unlock the lock, nor when the biometrics in the 804 is used, the port is released, I'm using an electric lock, could it be the dip-switch? How to read the dip-Switch

Hi Dave is there any way to link this to the main door and use it for clock on shift if you show your card outside and then when you use the inside one it then clocks you off shift
Hi , yes using 4200 or HIK-Central we can use the Time & Attendance function to do the clocking in & out function , 😊

Hi,i managed to installed everything and it was running fine for 3 weeks,but today i get alot of users failed to unlock door and when i check the monitor section it stated "invalid Duration" at the description.
did you ever find the solution to "invalid duration"?
can it support a biometric lock to open doors?
We can open a lock via biometric but don’t have all in one biometric lock currently

Hi , without seeing the setup it would be hard to see what the exact issue is sorry, assuming you have added the devices and the person records and then applied the settings to the devices ?

what time do you need ? it depends on the product being used but 5 secs is sometimes the lowest , later models and 4200 allow lower setting
How to overtime setting 4200AC. It's never appear on my report. It's show 0

How would you wire a panic bar into this and then change it when you swipe to shunt the alarm from going off? Cheers
Hi Shaun , sorry this might sound a stupid question but not sure I understand , the panic bar would be wired in as an alarm circuit , assume you want to be able to isolate this alarm ?
@@DVSLTD correct. I wired into the alarm area and then on 4200 changed the alarm settings to delay 45 seconds but it is still sounding one the door contact is broken. Any advice to isolate it out and allow for the delay?

Is there any kind of mobile access available to control this? I see that Hik Connect does not work...
not yet no , only if using HIK-Central VMS and the mobile app to give some mobile functions but then the cost is more due to licensing
What is meant by the term 'wegun' (sorry for the phonetic spelling)
The term Wigand or Wiegand as people do spell it that way , this is a connection protocol type used mainly in access control systems ,its D1 and D0 connection type and carries the data between a reader and the reader input on the controller , it also is a standard of say 26Bit , 32Bit , 37 Bit etc and acts a little like ONVIF in the CCTV world where readers from other manufacturers could be used on other controllers, hope this helps
We installed time attendance, but the pc can not generate any reports, but the reports are available manually form the device. I have tried with 3pcs but no success, what could be the issue
Hi , this could be anything , what version of IVMS-4200 are you using ??
@@DVSLTD the issue was the pc I had used to register the devices, I did a factory reset and did a clean installation on sever, for easy remote access

you will need to create the access group to include all the devices , using IVMS-4200, then add the persons as needed, when complete please under access control download the info to all devices which will then show the details

Is there a way to unlock doors from a mobile app?
On the terminals yes, do you want to do it on the ACU also ?
@@DVSLTD Yes from the ACU. Let's say for example a business owner wants to open the door for an employee at the business but he/she is not there. Can they open the ivms mobile app and unlock a specific door remotely? I was unable to find this functionality.
