This is a great climb, I did it many years ago with my brother. You can climb it without gear but it is a bit hairy getting off that pinnacle. We were glad we had our gear. Well done!
@@israelhunter1 We sure did! 2nd summit bid was the charm. Problem free, other than some unexpected difficulties rerouting our rope to accommodate the varying climbing skills present.
I was having a hard time holding my phone because my hands were sweating so badly from the vertigo your video was giving me. I can't wait to summit it but I plan on using ropes due to not being very experienced at climbing.
Its an easy climb. The rock field is scary. The summit rock climb has this rock hold that moves a lil. It's weird. And a usgs stamo on top with lightning strike glass on the rocks.
No special gear. This is only a day hike so we just had our packs with lots of water and food/snacks. There were some people using ropes and harnesses on the last 80 feet but depending on your skill level you may not need them. We did not use them. The top was amazing.
Hi Tanya, Yes its only a day hike. Near the top there is a lot of loose rock and I did get a lot of rock in my boots but a quick stop to remove it was all that was needed. Regular hiking boots are fine as long as there is no snow in your way.
