So the goli soda, it's easier to be made compared to the conventional cock screw methods. It gives a nostalgic feel in India. Plus the marble staying in prevents the fizz from escaping to an extent. So carbonation can be held for a tiny bit longer while you drink. ❤
Godi (marble) soda is among the oldest designs of bottles to hold a carbonated drink, first made in the UK way back in the late 1800s! Its original name was the codd-neck bottle.

53:44 You both are amazing vloggers. FYI: If ask the public or bus drivers or any others about Auto or private taxi rate they can only give you an approximate estimate of the price and it wouldn’t be 100% accurate. They guy said RS: 50 and the auto tax asked for Rs. 80 so that is super close and good price.
@EllisWR Warm welcome to India. “Goli Soda” is Indigenous and very unique mechanism. There is a way to drink soda from that bottle. U have to flip the bottle in side ways where the marble would stop in the neck of the bottle and doesn’t block the flow. If you flip on any other wrong side it will block the flow. Next time try the correct side.
It needs a skill to drink goli soda. The technique is you have to hold the bottle's nose horizontal to your mouth so that it won't block the outflow of soda. Its serves the purpose of holding the pressure and also reusability, of having that goli for future refills.
I wish Pepsi and coke had their bottles like this. These are 100% reusable and can be recycled easily, instead of those plastic bottles which harm the environment.
Palm fruit is also called ice apply what you had. Apply for the face for 10 days to reduce your pimple. It is the national palm tree of Tamil Nadu. Best tree for saving water. All parts of the tree will be used.
Got to tell you that you both are doing real justice to South Indian vlogs. This is what we mean India to foreigners when they have no clue about it and rather have a different perception altogether. For such serene places, you can also try Korangani mountain's water cascades (foothill of Munnar) (a brief bus ride from Bodinayakanur) and grape cultivation enroute Kambam that ends at Suruli falls. By the way, to eat those palmyra fruit aka ice apple, just insert your thumb to scrap and slurp the whole inside of it. Its to cool the body. And to drink the vintage marble soda (goli soda) in a correct way is to hold the flat neck part in a vertical manner (horizontal is kind of failsafe). Hope it helps. Continue the commendable work.
Rasa vada is a specialty of this place. Hope you enjoyed it like I would. The liquid in which it is soaked is called Rasam, a sort of soup. Very good medicine if you have cold or flu. The mystery snack I think is the vada without its characteristic hole in the middle. You picked correctly how to close the banana leaf after your meal. good job man.
16:27 The ball is traditionally used to seal the bottle. You should be holding the bottle in the other side (Rotate it a bit) so that the ball (goli) gets struck in the structure at the neck of the bottle and doesn't block the drink. I can't explain it properly in English 😭
