This video will automatically be mirrored on our Bit Chute Channel: www.bitchute.c...
In this episode our crews recorded the entire trip of Montebello Bus Lines: Line 50 from the first stop at 5th/Beaudy in Downtown Los Angeles to La Mirada Theater Center.
Line 50 is MBL's longest route, it covers 26.2 miles (42.1 km) one way (Rome2Rio, 2019). From the 1980s thru mid 1990s this route was originally known as Line 104 and began at Fullerton Park & Ride Station and traveled through the Orange County cities of Fullerton and Buena Park via Gilbert Street, Malvern Ave and La Mirada Blvd on its way to Boyle Heights, and was operated by the Southern California Rapid Transit District (SCRTD, 1985).
When the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) came into existence in 1993, the MTA continued what the RTD had been doing since the 1970s by shedding operations outside of Los Angeles County (MTA, 2013). The MTA cancelled service from Fullerton Park & Ride Station to La Mirada, and established the new eastern terminal on Aldefa Drive/Rosecrans Ave (MTA, 1994). On April 3, 2000 the MTA handed Line 104 over to Montebello Bus Lines (SO.CA.TA, 1999). MBL renumbered it as Line 50 and its been in service since (MBL, 2019).
Departing from Downtown Los Angeles, Line 50 travels through the cities of Boyle Heights, Vernon, Commerce, Montebello, Pico Rivera, and Whittier on its way to La Mirada Theater Center in La Mirada.
There will be continuous video coverage from Downtown Los Angeles to La Mirada. We hope you will enjoy this ride-a-long on MBL's longest route. The featured vehicles in this episode are two New Flyer XN40's (CPTDB, 2019). These are scenes of that afternoon.

Well detailed and it sooooooo refreshing to see this especially both cities - Commerce and Whittier are my cups of teas. 😁

Thank you very much for the kind words, we are pleased that you enjoyed this ride-a-long through the Gateway cities of Los Angeles.
@@TheMetropolitanNetwork Yes I do... Line 50 was so far the most patient bus line of all Montebello Bus lines.. 😍😍😍😍😍
Former MTA route 104. The only 100 line to head into Downtown LA! Very long bus ride. 😮
Metro Line 104 used to begin at the Fullerton Park and Ride Lot, later shorten to La Mirada Park and Ride. Line 156 was another 100 series route that ended in Downtown LA late 90s, early 2000s. Thanks for the comment.
On 1:02:58 all the people get out of bus what happened the bus is the bus not working 😎
Quite possibly the bus was low on fuel or scheduled maintenance after so many miles.
Also the other bus wasn’t an XN40 it was a C40LFR
Good video man! Also the driver was nice! So OCTA senior fare is $70 (60 +) but in Montebello is $50 (62 +) 😱
Montebello is a very small agency with some federal funding, MBL has a lot of history in these parts of LA County. OCTA Bus Unofficial, are you going to leave UA-cam to somewhere else like the majority of channels? We already have a BitChute channel that we have been posting since the start of this year. Hope your thanksgiving was a great one!
@@TheMetropolitanNetwork oh i see! Thank you for sharing that information! Well i will stay in youtube! Oh that page is like youtube? Oh thank you , Happy thanksgiving too 👍✌😎

We appreciate your kind words. The link to our BitChute channel is under each episode in the episode’s description. Be sure to bookmark and stay tuned in 2020.
@@JDFrank20Diaz lucky you! I didn't have the chance to take the new hydrogen buses yet, i saw them but unfortunately i couldn't take them 👍✌😎
I know I just commented on a foothill video, but my son takes Montebello bus line 30 to go to school, and he knows all the drivers for that line
Like Foothill, Montebello drivers are very people friendly. They always greet with a smile and a kind word.
U should do a video of
Montebello bus line 30 from firestone/Garfield to Huntington/Garfield
Montebello bus line 10 from East la college to whittwood mall
Montebello bus line 20 from las tunas dr/San Gabriel to telegraph/Gage
Montebello Bus line 40 from Beverly Blvd/Norwalk to Beaudry/4th
U did Montebello bus line 50
Montebello Bus line 60 on Passions Blvd
Montebello Bus line 70 from shops from shops at montebello to metrolink station
Montebello Bus line 90 Downtown Express from Beverly/Norwalk or Taylor Ranch to Beaudry/4th
Thank you very much for the fine suggestion of lines. We only try to document long distance transit lines of any agency. Fortunately only transit enthusiasts have already documented majority of those lines you suggested. The line will consider documenting be would MBL Line 90 express from Whittier to Downtown LA.
When we found out that Metro have resurrected a former RTD Line, we had to document it. Metro Line 456 will be our final ride-a-long of the year. Trailer comes out at 2400 hours tonight.
I always wonder why some Montebello Bus Lines don't run further.
For example, MBL should extend Line 30 north to Altadena via Los Robles aka where the original Line 260 used to run, and South to Norwalk Green Line Station via Gardendale.
For Line 40 and express 90, it should be extended to Rio Hondo College east via Workman Mill, (OPTIONAL: an Western extension to Wilshire/Vermont Station via 7th St, (this should be implemented only if MTA Line 51 gets the 7th St segment infected by the NextGen)).
For Line 50, It should be extended to Buena Park Station and Fullerton Park N Ride via Malvern, Dale, Commenwealth, and Magnolia.
For Line 10 (this one is unlikely), they should've extended Line 10 to Brea Mall where Line 470 used to run, it should be numbered as 10A. For the Puente Hills Mall Branch, it should be numbered as Line 10B when MTA have cancelled Lines 470/471.
Amazing ride, it was interesting to see a switch of buses halfway through the route! I’m pretty sure their C40LFRs sound very similar to OCTA’s 2008 C40LFRs, although I’m not sure why their AC unit is very loud! Also, this was taken the same day as that 7.1 earthquake that would strike a few hours later!
Yes, the Earthquake would strike a few hours later. Thanks for watching and we hope your thanksgiving was a great one.
Nice
We got two more transit episodes remaining in December till our time is concluded on UA-cam. Stay tuned for details...
