Just made a quesadilla with a store bought flour tortilla, some store bought shredded cheese mix, cooked up a steak medium rare, sliced it thin, and a bell pepper. Cooked steak and pepper in the pan, threw it in the tortilla and cooked it like you showed with the butter. It was bomb af. Will def make it again.

The takeout place near my house recently came under new management and something possessed me to order the Quesadilla which was new to their revamped menu. I tried it, fell MADLY in love with it and wished I could have them more often but didn't want to get into the habit of buying takeout food too much. Searched how to make them and ended up here. They look so simple but fun to make, can't wait to become a Quesadilla connoisseur.
I've devised my own recipe for the perfect quesadilla. The key is in the cheese. You have to use the right combo (I use about 60% oaxaca/20% jack/15% cheddar/5% parmesan and cotija) and treat the cheese like you would a piece of meat, i.e. SEASON IT! It doesn't need much salt but it really needs some cayenne, pepper flakes, cumin, Mexican oregano, garlic and onion powder and black pepper thoroughly mixed into the cheese blend. Also, I don't make quesadillas, tacos or burritos now without brushing the tortilla with hot sauce and cooking it in while I puff and crisp the tortilla in a dry pan.

Im mexican and for most of us Quesadillas are literally any type of tortilla with cheese folded and heated until the cheese melts haha, however there is this eternal debate we have with people from other parts of the country where they say that quesadillas must have another filling, usually meat. A lot of grocery stores nowadays sell raw flour tortillas next to the refrigerated Mexican products (like crema, queso fresco, chorizo, etc.). They’re almost as good as homemade, actually they’re better than some homemade I’ve had haha I highly recommend them

In Eastern Europe, we like to take thin pieces of wraps (we call it lavash) with suluguni cheese and some herbs inside and bake it on BBQ. You can replace suluguni sheese with halloumi one, I see it in UK stores regularilly. Gosh, that's godlike, I recomend you to do it :)

I'm not a vegan but I enjoy cooking vegan food quite often, both improvised dishes as well as vegan-adapted versions of already established recipes. I think of it like playing videogames, it feels much more satisfying to do well in hardmode where your options/weapons/tools are more limited.
My perfect quesadilla is sprinkling a bit of sugar into the pan along with butter when browning the quesadilla shell. It makes a nice slightly sweet outside with a nice cheesy inside. For fans of sweet and salty foods, you must try this. Another great addition is sprinkling cheese into the pan, then throwing the tortilla shell on top of the cheese and letting the cheese actually bake and once the cheese is nice and crispy, flip it, add your meat of choice and add more cheese and fry until the shell is browned and second layer of cheese is melted. You now have a layer of melted cheese, and a layer of crispy cheese which taste like a gourmet cheezit.
I think I'm on recipe 18 that I have made. You should try them. They are so easy and I've had much success. Today, I'm making his sandwich bread for the 30th time.

I'm not a vegan but I enjoy cooking vegan food quite often, both improvised dishes as well as vegan-adapted versions of already established recipes. I think of it like playing videogames, it feels much more satisfying to do well in hardmode where your options/weapons/tools are more limited.

My perfect quesadilla is sprinkling a bit of sugar into the pan along with butter when browning the quesadilla shell. It makes a nice slightly sweet outside with a nice cheesy inside. For fans of sweet and salty foods, you must try this. Another great addition is sprinkling cheese into the pan, then throwing the tortilla shell on top of the cheese and letting the cheese actually bake and once the cheese is nice and crispy, flip it, add your meat of choice and add more cheese and fry until the shell is browned and second layer of cheese is melted. You now have a layer of melted cheese, and a layer of crispy cheese which taste like a gourmet cheezit.
That’s no more a quesadilla, that’s an american dessert.

@@PanSangex I haven't been able to find the green peppers (can't remember what they are called) that he uses in almost everything that has a spicy to it. I think he used a red one in this video.
