    Had my filter changed at the dealership yesterday. Drove today, and noticed a whistle with the AC on. Was ready to take it back to the dealership when I found your video. They had not fully seated the new filter. Saved me time and aggravation. Thanks.

    Thanks. Very helpful. The manual in my 2021 doesn’t even mention the cabin air filter.

    I found it to be a bit more difficult to remove the glove box due to the two protrusions on each side being quite large. I had to use a pry bar to get my box out. I also used a sting to loop around the glove box return, which made it much easier to hook it back up to the side.

      yes - the video shows the man simply gently pushing in on the sides with his fingertips - I had to put a lot of English on it to push the sides in on our 2020 - dunno if they changed the tabs at some point and made them longer in more recent model years?
      The filter slot cover was tougher too - I had to take a small flat head screwdriver and push UP on the center tab to get it to release.
      Finally, I used a small pair of needle-nose vise grips to hold the string dampener while I reinstalled the glovebox door.

    Everything worked as shown except for the glove box reinstall. The plastic trim (from dash to floor) on the right side of box interferes with the sliding the right hinge track into place, so every time (several) I reinstalled it, it was misaligned and either would not close or would drag. I could feel that the right (and middle) were not fully engaged as they should be. I tried prying and hammering it downward to force it into place. Finally, I partially closed the glove box and put most of my weight on the right side and it popped into place. I watched several videos to see if anyone showed and alignment trick I was missing, but nothing addressed this issue. Felt like a poor design choice by Jeep. Anyway, it's back in and I didn't break it (although that was an option I considered), so good now. Anyone else have this issue?

    The down arrows on the OEM filters don’t show airflow, so be careful. Airflow To be sure look at the dirty side of the old filter and that’s the in side.

    • @PYR-Auto
      @PYR-Auto  Рік тому

      that's true - if the filter does not say "airflow" and only has an arrow then they would typically be installed with the arrow pointing up. If filter says "air" or "airflow" then it should point down.

    Another video it says the airflow is coming from the bottom moving up? Which is the true direction of the airflow?
