  • In today's video will be changing the water pump. This is quite a quick job that is well worth doing if you are already doing the timing on your engine.

Nicely done. One of my tips for water pumps or pretty much anything with a gasket is to use alignment pins, which are nothing more than bolts with the heads cut off and rounded off. Screw them in first, install the pump, remove the pins and install the bolts. They work great to keep the gasket from shifting. By the way, nice choice of tool brands.😉

You should only use an oem water pump and hydraulic tensioner. Aftermarket ones are known to fail. You can use a gates belt if you want but oem works just fine unless your making over 1,000hp.

Hey man can you check out my most recent video on my channel because ive been trying to pinpoint this particular noise my Stealth is making. It sounds like maybe a bad pulley or the bearing inside is shot? My belt is nice and tight so i doubt its the tensioner being weak

If I understand your description correctly, it sounds like you have a head gasket problem. Please join the forum and you can get more help.

The only reason they end up with tap water in them is because the headgasket has been leaking and so the cooling system needs constant topping up. So if you're doing a cambelt and waterpump you always need to check on the headgasket first. It's really easy, usually all you need to do is retorque the heads, nothing more. Nothing to do with having calcium in it, it's about not having antifreeze which makes it rust.

I need to change the pump on my 95 stealthSOHC model. How much different? I am getting coolant leaking in the coolant tube under the intake manifold. I replaced the o rings 2 times now but still leaking. I assume it’s the water pump?

How do you take of the black piece where the steering pump belt sits.

Thanks for the video. I have an idea, you should do this job on someone else's car that really need this done by professional like you. Instead of doing in an old example car. You can get the job done on a running car. Those parts do not need to be removed out after you finish making video.
