The existing federal tax credit ALREADY HAS double standards for EVs. Not all Teslas have fully qualified for it at all points. If California designs their credit in some way that excludes Tesla--say for EV makers that sell more than x EVs and more than x% of cars they sell are EVs--the rationale could be to incentivize sales for companies transitioning to EV production not for EV manufacturers already successful in the EV market--well, what's wrong with that?

Maybe if Elon Musk grew up, sold his stocks, and stopped throwing tantrums, Tesla might actually have a chance. This isn’t a playground for a spoiled 15-year-old’s antics.
Not surprised the swasticar isn’t doing well. Buying a new Tesla is a defacto endorsement of fascism at this point. There is some silver lining though, they might be the only affordable domestic manufacturer as they will have preferred access to H1B software engineers and migrant detainee labor if things get bad enough.
Musk doesn't seem to realize majority of tesla owners are left leaning. He got to where he is because of California credits. Sold my Tesla Y model and never been happier not to be reminded everyday of what Musk is doing.
Need new batteries offering at least twice the current ranges (perhaps the rumored solid state ones), faster charging, and reduced cost (maybe that'll come with hopefully cheaper SD batteries).
You used to include Tesla in your car reviews because of electrification, you quit doing that you need to cover them. Check out the new model why it’s really cool looking and it’s really advanced and the new model three refresh is pretty advanced now. I’m not a big electric car fan, but Tesla is the biggest in the world, well until the Chinese got involved!😂
Apart from the lack of confidence in EV vehicles in the near future, Telsa’s design hasnt changed or evovled much, they have to freshen up a bit more. Car enthusiasts love seeing striking looking cars.
The California EV tax credit is there to improve competition and support more EV brands to be there with their EV models. So it makes sense that the company that has the biggest share of EV sales is excluded. Plus the, let’s call it in a way not to offend anyone, “political activism” of Tesla CEO is at the point is actually hurting the brand.
I can't buy an EV because I live in a condo(no charging stations), which is a huge hurdle for any company selling an EV. I'll stick with my 2003 Toyota Tacoma.
I doubt it's a big portion of potential consumers who are waiting for the Y refresh because I don't think it's widely known that the refresh is in the works. That refresh, BTW, is a huge improvement. And I think when it goes on sale, it will be a huge boost to Tesla sales.
I like my stick shift, BUT if I were to buy an EV, it would be a Tesla. Elon has saved free speech and America. You may not realize it now, but you will some day.
I think there are many issues. Increased competition from other companies, vehicle subsidies and dislike of Elon would be the most obvious reasons. The “carbon” states were historically the primary buyers of their cars. He is alienating this base.
they lost the A.I gambit. Only path now is to make better EVs that are more affordable (like the Chinese) with their over valued dollars. Otherwise, face extinction.
Tesla and Musk are in the entertainment sector, not in the automotive. Different game! They make billions on Twitter and flash news, etc that manufacturing is no longer needed. 😂

You have to lack all principle and decency to willingly put that much money into Musk's pocket at this point. Things have gone well beyond both-sidism. He'd have to sell off a substantial amount of his ownership for me to even jokingly consider their cars..
From my perspective I was interested only in model S when it was released back in 2013. It was something new and refreshing. Couple of years later when I had a chance to test it the hype was gone. Now I would not even consider to buy one. I really hate how you control everything from this silly huge tablet. The look of their models is also very outdated. It's better with current refresh but the old ones are really ugly. For me the Tesla company is all about 0-100km/h acceleration and nothing more. Good for teenagers.
You may not own tesla stock directly, but it is contained in 100's of different mutual funds and etf's. Check your portfolio to make sure you aren't unknowingly supporting Mein Kampf Motors.
I'm surprised so many can't separate musk from Tesla in terms of his personal/political opinions vs the product. I don't see anyone boycotting Amazon/Bezzos lol. Also the EV tax credit hasn't gone away only the mandate
The Cybertruck was a limited buyer market vehicle & that market is drying up. The Cyberscalper market died quickly. I would have released a revised Model Y first over the sedan. Tesla needs a boxy vehicle. I see many just waiting for the Juniper base model.
Musk is the most contradictory character. INCREDIBLE space program, doing absolute scifi stuff. I'm so excited to watch how far SpaceX can get humans and back safely if any of that will happen. Teslas are just as contradictory as the guy himself. Awesome and cool things, but then...

They gonna put roll down windows and subscription ac to make it cheaper. Or adding adds on start up lol
Tesla should fire their CEO. Millions of people won’t buy one
Tesla deserves to go out of business.
It’s a shame because the new Tesla refreshes have been looking great. The brand has really taken a dive.
Need new batteries offering at least twice the current ranges (perhaps the rumored solid state ones), faster charging, and reduced cost (maybe that'll come with hopefully cheaper SD batteries).
I am glad this is happening! Elon is a horrible racist person!
Model 3 and Y are beating everything in the market. All other cars are pretending to be futuristic, Elon delivers.
Apart from the lack of confidence in EV vehicles in the near future, Telsa’s design hasnt changed or evovled much, they have to freshen up a bit more. Car enthusiasts love seeing striking looking cars.
he’s got control of the treasury payment system recently. answer is simple: slush fund the hell out of it
The California EV tax credit is there to improve competition and support more EV brands to be there with their EV models.
The entire auto market is down 15%. Teslas total addressable market with a $25K vehicle is about to 2X.
Hopefully and this will be replicated internationally.
No one wants an EV, they’re a dumb fad and its over.
EVs are superior to ICEVs and will dominate the market when the cost of batteries comes down sufficiently.
Most of Tesla's revenue is from government ev credits and carbon credits.
I think there are many issues. Increased competition from other companies, vehicle subsidies and dislike of Elon would be the most obvious reasons. The “carbon” states were historically the primary buyers of their cars. He is alienating this base.
6:00 not when said EV company CEO can dismantle govt agencies
they lost the A.I gambit. Only path now is to make better EVs that are more affordable (like the Chinese) with their over valued dollars. Otherwise, face extinction.
Teslas already have nothing in them so to dumb them down more.
They would have to take out the back seats and put only 16 inch tires 😂
What’s with all the purple haired leftists in the comments?
Tesla is working on revolutionary new products... hold on to the edge of your seat.
Tesla hybrids or with optional gas generators.
Well I never liked Elon to begin with so it looks like others like myself are voting with their dollars.
Tesla and Musk are in the entertainment sector, not in the automotive. Different game! They make billions on Twitter and flash news, etc that manufacturing is no longer needed. 😂
If Tesla is falling, then we are happy! :D
I'm sure all the republican Texans will be buying up Tesla's
Kirk, I don’t think you’ve been following musk very closely these last few years have you? Im a fan of your channel but you need to educate yourself on the danger that musk and people like him pose to peace, freedoms and democracy we’ve taken for granted the past few decades.
Hopefully out of business.
You may not own tesla stock directly, but it is contained in 100's of different mutual funds and etf's. Check your portfolio to make sure you aren't unknowingly supporting Mein Kampf Motors.
Omg, no more cyber trucks. They are the ugliest vehicle ever. AMC Pacer looks better.
Didn't they confirm no cheap models when the taxi was revealed? Wouldn't a cheap model mean no profit margin
Q: Wouldn't a cheap model mean no profit margin(?) A: yup basically. this is a "dealbreaker" and obviously runs afoul of the GREEDY AND RAPEY orientation Elmo has become "addicted to" as a Global Robber Barron.
The Tesla Car brand 👌 days are truly number because the Electric Motors Vehicles sales volume will eventually fall behind Honda Motor Vehicle Company United States of America 🇺🇸 for sure. The Honda Motor Vehicle Company will eventually get better quality sustained by building more than Tesla Cars 🚗. The Honda Motor Vehicle Company definitely has more experience in building vehicles than that of the Tesla Car 🚗 Company for sure!
The Chinese car 🚗 are cheap yes, but is the built 👌 quality sustained higher value on the marketplace for the customers who buy Electric Motors Vehicles Model types in North America 🌎 🇺🇸!
Andrew
Juniper already arrived here pretty Nice exterior better than older model Y, i liked it and i was kinda amazed that Model 3 is 37 thousand € i think it's a pretty good deal because it's a better car than a lot of other brands, now the BYD Seal and Sealion are also very good and well build and look good but more expensive... Now for me selling a Tesla because of Musk behavier ? That's insane... That's my point of view because a car is not a person right ?
One side is upset and a large portion of the other side (red states) can't afford Mushmobiles and others only want a pickem up truck (not stainless steel.
