I just learned of Steve's death yesterday. I met him a few times in the 80's. He was a very nice gentleman, who took the time to seek out the shy kid (me) in a very bad time in my life. He didn't know me from Adam and had no reason to do that. His death is hard on me. He was a huge influence on my own vocal style, but beyond that, he was a decent human being. Rest in Power, Steve Grimmet.
Steve Grimmett is so underated. This was one of my favorite bands growing up and still amazes me to this day how good they were.Grimmett sounded like a beast.
This band sounded so amazing. Most underrated. These guys kicked ass the maximum way and even so melodic and excellent! Steve and Nick and the whole band thanks for all, you were just so amazing!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🎸🤘 R.I.P Steve, you will be badly missed, one of the greatest and most powerful singers I have ever heard and seen! 🙏🙏🙏🤘💔🍀🍀🍀🌈🌈🌈

I was actually at this concert, 1st Ave isn't a big place, it was packed and MTV filmed that night, the pit was harrowing and fun at the same time... had an awesome time... Grim Reaper, Helloween, and Armored Saint got to watch it on my birthday a few days later, on the actual Halloween airing on MTVs Headbangers Ball

Grimmett is a legend, and Nick’s style and tone sound awesome. One of the few bands that sounds better live than in the studio, and that’s no knock on their studio stuff, it’s great too.
Alucinante . que vozarrooon cuando los conocí en los 80 ya me alucinó y ver este concierto en la red me a encantado . Gracias por que todos podamos disfrutar de este gran concierto

@@vintagetubeamplifiers That's harsh. He probably doesn't play as often as he did in his younger days. Or maybe he's got arthritis or something. It happens.

I watched it years ago and seeing it now, it amazes me even more. I almost never finish live videos all the way through, but I can’t fucking look away! It’s increadible!
This is a hell of a lot better than all the cheese metal crap that was around at the time. To think that Poison and Warrant got big around the same time and these guys stayed in relative obscurity.
+DeathShouldTakeMeNow This band was so highly underrated, but I dont remember ever hearing any crappy metal bands at the time until about 89' and early 90s.
+Metal Manimalon The 90s was the age of nu metal, the 80s the age of hair metal--I suppose we all have our own taste, but that kind of metal is clearly more commercial.
Looks had alot to do w it. Chicks accounted for a lot of the hair bands album sales (probably just to put the posters up) and im weary of thinking girls wanted a Steve Grimmett cut out on their wall. Sad really. They rock.
I love Steve Grimmett and have always said he is one of the best vocalists in all of Metal. He is the "headvoice" master. I just never understood why he would agree to get these silly azz hair extensions like he did here. His hair was just barely at his shoulders in the 1984 video for "See You In Hell." Did he think he fooled us all? Now..Grim Reaper's music always killed. They (Grimmett and Bowcott) need to get back together now, when we need them the most and make that 4th GR album "Absolutely Nothing To Do With Hell." I have seen some recent live vids of Steve's version of Grim Reaper and he lays real low and safe and hardly ever attempts the big screams we love him for. I know he still has it. Check out Steve's killer tribute covers of Maiden; 2 Minutes 2 Midnight and Aces High as well as his killer Whitesnake tribute covers; Still of the Night and Slow and Easy. The man is simply stellar in the studio.
Grimmett & Bowcott teamed up for a recent Grim reaper reunion tour in America in 2014. There's a video interview of the two in Chicago as well as on Blabbermouth.net (April 22, 2014). There's also a UA-cam video for their 'Lust For Freedom' show in Chicago last year (look up Tv6Promotions here on UA-cam). They still sound very good there, and very much the same :)
I remember grim reaper in high school but they weren't all that popular, but now I went back just recently and I can't stop playing them , so I'll see you in Hell 🤘
One of the best heavy metal bands EVER. Their magnum opus "Rock You To hell" really rocked us out of the planet. Still they rock. The voice is clearly a potential juggernaut.
Their first album sounded pretty good but the rest were lackluster. This live performance sounds very similar to the first album, but actually tighter.
***** No, I'm not - Arch was/is good, but back then he was basically a Bruce Dickinson clone. Alder has more of his own original style and sound, and he has ( or had ) a better range as well. "Eye To Eye" has some of the most insane high notes I've ever heard in a Metal song, definitely up there with Halford and Tate in their prime. Too bad Alder has lost that range now.

Grim Reaper is one band that should have been huge! I love their first three albums that came out in the 80's big time. Steve has an amazing voice and Nick is an amazing guitar player. Final Scream is the first song I ever heard from Grim Reaper back in the mid 80's as a little kid and became a fan ever since.
