My husband and I, on our first camping trip, sat up at night in front of embers and watching the stars in Algonquin park, we'd smoked a bowl. He introduced me to this song for the first time. I sat there for what felt like forever on the rollercoaster that is this song, one earphone in my ear and the other in his - staring at the brilliant, unclouded majesty of space. I still feel it in my stomach when I listen.
I agree. I can't say it starts sad but it feels that way. All is over ... Then, the hope comes back and makes you feel respect for what was lost because life moves on and we survive. I had a drink. Sorry.
Well to be fair, deadmau5 is a producer. As far as EDM production goes, there are many tools like arpeggiators, randomizers, delays, etc that can really aid in the creation of a track. So is deadmau5 more than just a DJ? Yes, but he's no composer either. He has an artistic mind and a great set of ears, but in this case that mainly aids in the mixing/mastering process, moreso than the creative process. He uses a chain of analog modular synthesis, as well as a chain of DAW tools to create.
+Electric Ocean Games yeah keep repeating that to yourself . Good luck. No matter what tools and DAWs you use, armony is armony. It cant be faked, and if you know how to use it, then my friend you are a composer.
Lost my wife and daughter.. was alone in the home my world gone .. drunk crying .. this song came on .. think I was one of the first to view it . .. hard to talk about why this hit me so hard.. you hear about how a song can move you... only had my best friend left who had the same name as my daughter.. saved my life and helped my find a way to live.. and then he died of sudden leukemia on the anniversary of losing my family... Life is hard and unfair.. dont know how I keep going.. Small things that give me hope is the beauty that lies within each of us if only we can be brave enough to choose. Thank you Evan. Touched my heart and gave me some peace when all was lost . X

Hey, Evan. I first saw your video back in 2013 whe I was obssessed with the original song. Those were such different times. So much has changed since then. My parents used to have a piano at home and I remember listening to your cover for hours straight and trying to reproduce it. I even recorded my own (very poor) version of it. I moved out, my parents and I don't see or speak in a long, long time, and I never had the chance to play the piano again untill this year when I'm finally buying my own. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that after all these years, here I am again. Somehow, you cover has inspired me in ways I can't even explain and whenever I want to remember happier days I listen to your version of Strobe and it helps me get better :)
Cheers brother. These people must've never had the opportunity to see him live or know the passion in the song itself or feel the emotion evan is using to project it to us. I love this cover soooo much.

Thank you for painting a chapter to the soundtrack of my life, enabling me to drop right back into memories at the sound of your keys, and giving me more reason to be inspired when I feel stuck in a rut. The first time I heard Strobe was on the for lack of a better name album. I was in bed about 11pm at night, drifting off to sleep. Then the greatest dance song of all time kicked in. That drop, just dropped and I lost my shit. I listened to it like 10 times. What a song, a total masterpiece. And I absolutely love this version, found it ten years ago and I always come back.

Every couple years, the algorithm brings this masterpiece back to my homepage and I always greatly appreciate this wonderful masterpiece and it also reminds me that Deadmau5 is truly a marvelous composer.
I lost my dog a few days ago, he was old and sick. We talked to him that he can leave in peace, that he shouldn't be afraid of anything. So I put him on my lap and we listen to this song while we pet him, he passed away in my mother's arms hours later. Júnior I just want to thank you for being in my family for almost 16 years, you brought us love and joy every single day, we will always love you, especially me. I hope to meet you someday in heaven my big dog
This song shows, (i feel like it does) first part - Something bad and sad happened in life. second part - Everything starts again, another chance, its becoming a great life. :)

There is only a few things in the world that can not be die or forgotten. It means "something" all the time whether you experience it ten years ago or ten years later. This experience was and is one of these. You didn't only do a cover, you put your soul in that a few moments and we still feel it. Thank you deadmau5 for bringing this masterpiece to life and thank you for doing this cover.
When you have a recommendation in quarantine and you see a cover of the nicest song come up and start to have thoughts of your past outside with a smoke looking that moon . Man
+federico giordano electronic music requires a very high skill level to actually communicate music. otherwise its just some mediocre beat leading to an easy to make "dope" beat drop. same goes to classical music, it requires a high skill level to make and it requires a high skill level of understanding to actually appreciate it!
Peaceful. One wise man said "Music is what feelings sound like", there are songs what makes you feel happy, energetic, relaxed etc.. This song makes me feel that we still have hope and everything will be ok. I don't usually comment anything on UA-cam, but I wanted to share this..
Sound. Not noise. Noise is something repetitive, single node or single frequency and unpleasant. Sound can speak where words cant. Take a listen to your favorite songs. It's most likely not the words that moves you, but the music instead. The words and the song merely enhances the instruments as the vast majority of singers today, dont understand what it means to use their voice as an instrument and not as a complimentary enhancement of the instruments
@@skbartistry2473 They're two words that meanbtge same thing. But I agree with what you're saying. There are songs I really really like, I may not know all the words but I'll know every note of the bass track, a little flourish of the lead guitar in the chorus or the drum pattern and changes from verse to verse.
Listen to birds, wolves, crickets, etc. Animals communicate with music. We are animals. We communicated with music long before we used complex dialect. It's a primal drive.
The original version from Joel and this absolute masterpiece of a cover with the most beautiful of instruments played by such a talented guy will forever be my all time favourite. And I just want to thank both of you for both versions. This hits me on so many levels and I can’t quite comprehend what it does for me. But I’ll be forever grateful for you for doing this. Bravo Evan. Bravo.
Deadmau5 Strobe is lowkey one of the most beautiful pieces about love, how it provides you with undertones of joy and happiness as you progress, constantly wanting more than what is given but you must force a sense of appreciation, taking it for granted might choke the relationship ruining the journey that was paved for you, to pace and to appreciate and to love what is in front of you, allowing you to flourish into something more after teetering over the edge of an almost unbearable wait. The strobing rhythm of ones breathing and heartbeat, steady and consistent, with the one.
Originally knew about this when Greg James played it on Radio 1. Pops up occasionally on my recommended by UA-cam. Still amazing after all these years!
This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it 11 years ago. I first heard it when playing Team Fortress 2 and some guy was playing it through the Half-LifeDJ thingy that let you play music to the whole server.
Evan, this is simply a beautiful version of an iconic track that I have been listening to for years. I hope you see this comment to know how much people love this!
It's been years since I first listened to this cover. I actually performed this piece back in high school, and. having UA-cam recommend this to me after so many years is insanely ironic. Thank you Evan for creating such a beautiful rendition. Hope you're doing well.
Evan I just want to say thank you. I’ve watched this video maybe 10 times and I’m brought to tears every single time. You play with such soul and feeling. I’ve started playing piano agin after 20 years and when I’m struggling I watch you here and you inspire me to continue. This is more than just a cover, it’s a work of art in its own right. Thank you.
The craziest song I ever heard coming down on mushrooms. Seriously felt forever and made me reflect on every single minute of my life. That was almost 6-7 years. Wow.

+federico giordano electronic music requires a very high skill level to actually communicate music. otherwise its just some mediocre beat leading to an easy to make "dope" beat drop. same goes to classical music, it requires a high skill level to make and it requires a high skill level of understanding to actually appreciate it!
+Randy Abbassi easy to make drop, haha yeah maybe if you use presets xD
+B. Tickles Compose a drop is easy. Compose good electronic music that just doesn't go for a drop is a challenge.
+federico giordano composition wise electronic music and classical music are nothing alike.....
Choruseffect it depends by the kind of electronic music and classical music of course but try to hear:
tycho - dye
or something by Ludovico Einaudi
First saw this years ago. Searched it again right now because I got reminded of it. So good dude.
Peaceful. One wise man said "Music is what feelings sound like", there are songs what makes you feel happy, energetic, relaxed etc.. This song makes me feel that we still have hope and everything will be ok. I don't usually comment anything on UA-cam, but I wanted to share this..
This song is very excellent. Your rendition is faithful and awesome.
I'm listening to it AGAIN in 2017 and I still like it soooo much! Thank you
2018
😍😍
Who gives a flying fuck what year it is when you are listening?
fuck you its timemachine
SKAE skadoo da skae,
Ur mom has big gay
I could imagine this at my funeral. It's a tale from young to old, from and through dark darkness to hope and happiness. Such a treasure.
I can't explain why I cry every time I hear this cover. It's the most beautiful thing on the internet 💖
thank you. yes.
why did u say thank you? lmao@@madelineritchie
me too
I just heard this cover for the first time and yes, I agree.
That was absolutely incredible, genuinely gave me goosebumps
Blown away. Sat here bawling my eyes out. How can noise do that? It's just noise. No words. Just noise. Made me so emotional.
Sound.
Bravo Evan. Bravo.
There was so much thought put into every note, the amount of pressure the type of release.. Awesome!
Please man, please! Do deadmau5 - polaris on piano
Pizza TV could be sort of a "campy bitch"
Sascha Diekmann actually track's real name is polaris. 😊
Sumit Choudhary somehow i didnt get the joke there... :D

That's would be amazing
Originally knew about this when Greg James played it on Radio 1. Pops up occasionally on my recommended by UA-cam. Still amazing after all these years!
This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it 11 years ago.
I first heard it when playing Team Fortress 2 and some guy was playing it through the Half-LifeDJ thingy that let you play music to the whole server.
Through some strange coincidence, I have returned here. It appears I have liked this in the past. Thank you, past me.
Jake Peralta from brooklyn 99 plays piano really well, congrats jake. Big fan here.
Cooo coo coo coocool cool no doubt no doubt

Wow.
I've just found this song and I can't believe I took 7 years for it.
It's incredible how it makes a mix of feelings while listening to it.

Can't tell you how many times I've listened to this. Hauntingly beautiful. Well done Evan.
