The United A320 is currently being refitted with new seats and a new interior. The last time I flew on an A320 with United had IFE's. Each aircraft is different, I guess.
My main issue with Spirit and Frontier is just when the schedule goes wrong. Most of the time, the legacy carriers are easier to get things taken care of. Plus, Spirit's main economy seat pitch is just not able to work for me.
Have flown spirit and frontier transcon many times also on red eyes..not the most comfy but decent enough. We have become masters of packing light, bring our own snacks and usually have a nice meal before we leave. We fly JetBlue enough to be recognized by cabin crew and love them. Southwest is great but not really a LCC here. It’s all about expectations. We’ve always gotten what we’ve paid for and have been lucky enough not to get nailed with unexpected cancellations. If I absolutely HAVE to be somewhere, I pick the airline with as many options to that destination and take the first flight I can to play it safe. Ryanair gets flack in Europe but have flown them as well and love them…$40 round trip from Dublin to Edinburg Scotland…come on! Singapore airlines on the A380…ok, THAT was an experience! Many times it’s seems it’s the poor behavior of the passengers that cause the issues and not the airlines fault. Maybe if people were raised with respect and some patience, flights would be more enjoyable for everyone.
US Domestic flying is horrible regardless of the carrier - you have to be more diligent with the low cost carriers since they rely on “errors” more… the main factor for me is leg room. Delta does that best (Have not flown Jet Blue yet) so that makes them top choice… and the biscoff on board is an added bonus I like.
We did not have to pay for the Sprite, I only ordered it because the FA couldn't find my wife's card on her tablet. After I got the free Sprite, the FA found my wife's card and we could buy the beer. So you are right, all non-alcoholic drinks are free on United.
WILL NEVER EVER Fly: Spirit or Frontier EVER AGAIN!!! Cramped. 90% Horrid Turbulence. NO Food, snacks or beverage. I wanted to kiss the floor of the airports after I got off each of their planes. I'm not religious but, I never prayed so much. I LOVE Southwest. BEST, FUNNY, COMFY and NEVER had turbulence. American is second place.
Great video
