Glad to see someone showing the jug can be used to tear up an enemy team. I'm not so high tiered in America but I did take this plane with me along with my friend in his f-80c and ended up racking four kills against hortens and swallows through proper energy fighting and those ridiculous laser 50 cals

@@zuckoVALTbh US props are not fun to fly at all. They do look beautiful but they lack variety, every USA fighter is a Boom and Zoom fighter they can’t do sht when a turn fighter is higher than them. They can’t energy fight as well as Bf109 they can’t turn, can’t climb. Really not enjoyable to fly
I love the P47, I flew it extensively when I was really new to the game. It taught me boom and zoom, and really got me into RB. However I quickly worked out that the American teams were holding me back. By the time I climbed to 5-6k the whole team would be dead. I would get 2-4 kills often but never enough to carry. And now I play German planes. I now have a 75% win rate compered to 25% for the Americans. Anyway great video as always orange

Most players i see in RB do one of three things. Climb straight towards enemy no matter what plane they have and try to dogfight. They fly so close to the ground they might actualy be trying to cut the grass and then try to dogfight planes like spitfires and zeros. the least popular and my personal fav is climbing to the side for altitude advantage... and unfortunetly watch my entire team die before i get to 4,000m
Another great thing about flying at high altitude in American aircraft, particularly the F4U, P-47 and P-51. At higher altitude, the air is of course a lot thinner, so maneuverability is going to be relative to the engine power, and not the weight of the aircraft. The weight of the aircraft is almost irrelevant beyond 30 000ft plane. The 47's R2800 is one of the most powerful piston engines ever built and its duel stage super charger, really allows the engine to put out ridiculous amounts of thrust at higher altitude, compared to most other fighters. Even the later 109 series In simple terms, the P-47 is much more nimble at higher altitudes. So much so, that beyond around 25 000 ft, turn fighting isn't actually that bad of an idea. As long as it's not against any Japanese planes ;)

Haven't flown the P-47s much in the game, but if it's like most of the other rotary engine American planes, it probably has auto prop pitch by default, even with MEC, so that has to be disabled to use it.
+GTPorsche Yeah it has auto pitch, but i would leave it at auto and just set the radiator and mixture, because prop pitch behaves weird in wt sometimes and will overrev your engine most of the time...
+theOrangeDoom: as usual I have a few thoughts on the whole theme. 1) everything that you introduce/implement for rewarding "teamwork" can and will get abused. It is simple as that. You see it in other multiplayer online games as well but it is not so obvious that people are greedy. 2) In this video sideclimbing works, in reality it mostly doesn`t work. You were over the enemy because the enemy didn`t really force the climb, otherwise you would have been outclimbed by the russians. I don`t need tips how to perform on high altitude in american planes while being on top of the enemy team, because it rarely happens and then I know what to do. I need tips how to perform when being the underdog, being outclimbed by germans and russians! 3) The biggest reward for teamwork is the success itself IMO - you can give bonusses to teammembers (chosen ones or randomly added ones) as much as you wish, if they just wnat to fly for themselfes ther is not much you can do. 4) For the enduring confrontation I have a solution: Simply give an RP and Silver lions booster (maybe 50%+) for the next flyout after you went back to base to rearm and refuel after engaging the enemy for the first time. As an example: when flying against the russians with the Japanese I took the tier 4 realistic enduring confrontation and took out the G5N1 and made it often enough to the enemy base to drop the bombs. But what now? just simply to bail out the aircraft and choosing it again while the bombs were still falling just costs me like 5 k silver lions, which is nothing and it benefitted me with having saved like 10 minutes flying back and also risking myself to enemy fighters on the way home, getting shot down anyways. Those risks should be rewarded with a bonus for all returns to bases after the first bombing mission. Same for fighters: when you engaged an enemy fighter and have to return to base due to fuel/ammo/repair and manage to get yourself on the ground without crashing, you should get a bonus for the next engagements after the take off. Also fighters that cover bombers and begin to engage enemy fihgers 5 km next to the bombers should get a bonus. Even 20 to 30 % would be worth it IMO. Also the feeling of teamwork when it works is awesome. But I have no idea how to impelemt such rewards in "normal" realistic battles... 5) Often enough the enemy team is able to achieve their objectives when you sideclimbe before you can do something against it. Sure, in your video it worked but it was damn close. Too close IMO to rely on it.
I understand what your saying, but there is no point climbing to 8000m when it's just you up there. I think the sweet spot is 6000m, where most German planes climb. But as with the P-47 you have to be above the enemy so you can BnZ.

Thank you for teling people how to fly this beautiful plane properley, I had 6 kills and winn few days ago and I have sent that replay to Magz. I regulary get 4-5 kills in p47 just becuause I fly it properley, just as yu showed in this video. Keep up good work
wait wait wait hold on orange. You're telling me that adjusting the fuel-air mixture helps to cool the water AND the oil on the plane? How does that make sense? All the while closing off the radiators whose purpose is to draw heat out of the system?!?!?!? Either Gaijin doesn't know how aircraft work or you're doing something wrong. I mean closing off the radiator cowl flaps for less drag makes sense, but when you realize that climbing is less about drag and more about power-to-weight ratio, then it makes much LESS sense.
I just took my P-47 out after watching your video and I picked up 6 kills against Japanese and actually won the game. It was glorious I wish you could see it. No idea how to show you though.
***** It was Wake island and I side climbed for a while then went back to the island. When I made it back, I only had one teammate left alive. I clipped off the wing tip of one enemy and my last teammate dove after it trying to steal that kill but he ripped his own wing. I got that kill later. Alone, I kept my altitude and told the enemies in chat that I will be flying over the island (convinced I'm going to lose so I tried to do it faster) and I see 2 fighters. They try to zoom up, so I pull up and they follow me and stall, I get on one's tail, set him on fire, zoom up away from the second fighter, dive on him after stalling again and take him out. Kill an Attacker below, which takes a while and I almost rip my wings if I kept diving after him. Finally, one enemy zero left, and he's nearly the same altitude as me but I have speed so I pull up above him, after I get the advantage he goes back to his fleet and AAA is bothering me, so I leave back to the island, and he comes after me later. I look at the sun and notice it's hiding me from him, so I turn after him and start B&Zing him until he's dead. I kept the replay. I'd have a full video but shadowplay only saved the last 15 minutes and the battle was longer than that. I didn't have the chance to fight at 6000+ km altitude and I don't the patience to wait for them in space.
Orange, the best Mixture setting for the P47M at least is 80%. You lose no performance at low or high altitude and it keeps the engine cool. I'm 99% sure P47D MEC is the same.
theOrangeDoom anything below 80% reduces your power output by a little at sea level. 80% seems to be the exact sweet spot for all altitudes. Not too much at high alt (I've tested up to 8k myself) and not too little to heat up your engine too much.
+theOrangeDoom Really. The mixture actually affects cooling very little in this game on the P-47D because the mixture is not modeled corectly. If you set it to 0%, it''s like it has automatic mixture control. I tend to only open the radiatiors on the warmer maps if it is below 3000-4000m.
My main warbird, man. I can' wait for this to be released on DCS. Anyways, You've pretty much nailed this on the head. Flying the p47 is quite simple. Side climb, B&Z and you can keep WEP on the entire match if you're keeping your ALT. Not to mention the 8 50 Cals of Freedom. Alongside that it's armament packs a good punch, you have an abundance of it and you can afford to be sloppy. The only problem I find is other players not taking advantage of how to fly this plane. Too often am I alone at 20000ft flying with US. B&Z is KEY with US fighters. I can't imagine flying straight in and thinking I'm going to turn with everybody and have a positive outcome.
0:41 i can approve: i recently played 2 matches with it and i got in both these matches an "ace in a day"(5 kills) and these 2 games were my first games in 3 months...
I always just use the tracer rounds. All incendiary too. Although I'm terrible at realistic air battles so I just stick to arcade. Cas with it is enjoyable though.
Nice Video as usual, and im aposlutly on your point!! I bord the Russian version as an addition to my GF Golden Egel line up. But, it replaced the BF109 G2 as my faverit RB plain!!! During my first 4 fligh outs I had my first 2 6 kill games. Today for me it is my by fare best mony maker. It is quite usual that I fight 5 JP plains alone after my whole team is dead. I love it!!
8/10 matches in P-47 looks like this for me . P-47 is not only good BnZ but good turn fighter and it's great for scisor dogfight . I have few videos on my channel where I out manouver Spitfires or dogfight with 2 la5 at one time
I've had some VERY awesome games in this, I got 4 kills in a HUGE comeback made by me, 6 vs 1, made 2 of them crash then I climbed back up and got 2 yak 3s, a yak 9t and stronk Pe8. No need to refuel. Its an amazing plane!!! If more players knew how to use it it would reck everything on their way. Sorry my bad english, not american or british.

+K200 Lambda It's just because Orange show us the best matches with every plane. He won't upload videos where he dies fast or can't do well. So of course it seems easy but he has bad matches as well. Just like everyone has. I can do 5-6 kills too when the circumstances are good.
+K200 Lambda He uses mouswheel to zoom in and out. He answered me once because I wondered how in cockpit mode he could zoom back further in his cockpit. You can tell by the small little increments. Unless of course you had a specific part in mind, give me the time stamp and I will have a look.
ey, mr. doom, if you want to get people to fly high, you should give like a 15/20 % boost to them for killing someone up high. And if someone gets a kill under the 1500 m you should give him a kind of debuff to his reserch/silver bonus.
What about a system that rewards sl to players for flying at their optimal alt. and awards sl based on how long they maintain this alt at the same tine.. That way players have a reason to climb and stay in the game while not awarding players who go to space and players can't really hide all match at 3000-4000 meters. Planes that normally should be at 10000 meters (ta-152) would only need to fly at around 5000-6000 meters to get the reward.

I always have this terrible luck of climbing and climbing and when im at like 5k alt i level out and build speed but then a minute later of trying to find targets i spot a group of bf109s or yak3s or la5s above me forcing me to dive or when i find a target they land a 1-2 hits when i avoid them coming directly at me and somehow making me unable to turn because my wing or elevator is orange -.-

Orange. Hi from Sarajevo. What do you think about making AAA on airfield even more deadliest, but make "area" around (both wide and height) that AAA cover and time for airplane to land, reload, repair and take off (repair + reload + some more time to gain alt and speed)? If airplane doesn't leave in time then kick off the match and exp. and lions penalty. That will give more to bomber gameplay to reach "area" for repair and reload (and gain alt) and why not allow bombers do that in air (from - to alt circling). Also add to gameplay that friendly ground forces can spot airplanes or :) to have ability to point on map to g.f. try to spot (and add cooling time for that ability). Br. O7
The jug has always been a plane people avoid because they can't fly it. I use 0% Rad, 75% mix and 85% prop pitch. The thing doesn't overheat, but it needs its supercharger modeled. Good job for dealing with shit teams.
My idea is that if the game timer goes under 30mins, there should be a border shrinker, therefore if someone is hiding the border will keep shrinking as the time goes down, this needs to be implemented.

First people complain about AAA do nothing, that you can't land safely because this thing didn't work. Now that you guys are getting shot down comes the complains again.
So you're saying americans should be higher but yaks are ok? , most tier 4 russian planes even late tier 4 fight tier 3 germans, planes like the 1st f8f should be lower and planes like late yaks and las should be a bit higher.

There's four cannon-armed versions: the He-112A-0 (which has basically the same gun as the one on the Panzer II, but it only has one of them and it's the only gun it has), and three different models of the He-112B (with two MG FFs, one of them being a Luftwaffe aircraft, another having Hungarian markings, and still another having Romanian markings.). Oh, and there's also the A7He1, which is the same thing only it's Japanese.
There is only 1 problem with this "altitude advantage" The P-47 can only go up to 20,000 feet And by that time, the G.55S's are at 30,000 feet The P-47 can only take 1 20mm shell to be killed And most of the Germans and Italians could dance around this Jug

In the new update when you fire your guns yellow gas comes out of the barrel, even with stealth you can see this smoke and turn to avoid the fire.

Yeah in my P51 and P38j I've been having to climb up to like 24kft because the commies have started to climb a ton

more mixture means engine heats up less, and water cooler doesn't have to overheat as well, it's a closed system with the radiators closed :)

theOrangeDoom anything below 80% reduces your power output by a little at sea level. 80% seems to be the exact sweet spot for all altitudes. Not too much at high alt (I've tested up to 8k myself) and not too little to heat up your engine too much.

What is the best way to grind? I have recently started researching my first jet and after 4 days of grinding I've barely made the half way mark.
just keep grinding. Boosters really help. if you can, try to get your enemy to waste blind hunts on you. I made 15k alone once because of blind hunts.

+theOrangeDoom Really. The mixture actually affects cooling very little in this game on the P-47D because the mixture is not modeled corectly. If you set it to 0%, it''s like it has automatic mixture control. I tend to only open the radiatiors on the warmer maps if it is below 3000-4000m.

My main warbird, man. I can' wait for this to be released on DCS. Anyways, You've pretty much nailed this on the head. Flying the p47 is quite simple. Side climb, B&Z and you can keep WEP on the entire match if you're keeping your ALT. Not to mention the 8 50 Cals of Freedom. Alongside that it's armament packs a good punch, you have an abundance of it and you can afford to be sloppy. The only problem I find is other players not taking advantage of how to fly this plane. Too often am I alone at 20000ft flying with US. B&Z is KEY with US fighters. I can't imagine flying straight in and thinking I'm going to turn with everybody and have a positive outcome.

I always just use the tracer rounds. All incendiary too. Although I'm terrible at realistic air battles so I just stick to arcade. Cas with it is enjoyable though.

I always run at 85% mixture and bellow 1000m I use 120%. It seems to work fine for me.
the 9T has a 37mm, the 9K has the fridge cannon that will put a hole in your left wing

8/10 matches in P-47 looks like this for me . P-47 is not only good BnZ but good turn fighter and it's great for scisor dogfight .

I've had some VERY awesome games in this, I got 4 kills in a HUGE comeback made by me, 6 vs 1, made 2 of them crash then I climbed back up and got 2 yak 3s, a yak 9t and stronk Pe8. No need to refuel. Its an amazing plane!!! If more players knew how to use it it would reck everything on their way. Sorry my bad english, not american or british.

+K200 Lambda It's just because Orange show us the best matches with every plane. He won't upload videos where he dies fast or can't do well. So of course it seems easy but he has bad matches as well. Just like everyone has. I can do 5-6 kills too when the circumstances are good.
+K200 Lambda He uses mouswheel to zoom in and out. He answered me once because I wondered how in cockpit mode he could zoom back further in his cockpit.
You can tell by the small little increments.

ey, mr. doom, if you want to get people to fly high, you should give like a 15/20 % boost to them for killing someone up high. And if someone gets a kill under the 1500 m you should give him a kind of debuff to his reserch/silver bonus.

What about a system that rewards sl to players for flying at their optimal alt. and awards sl based on how long they maintain this alt at the same tine.. That way players have a reason to climb and stay in the game while not awarding players who go to space and players can't really hide all match at 3000-4000 meters. Planes that normally should be at 10000 meters (ta-152) would only need to fly at around 5000-6000 meters to get the reward.

I always have this terrible luck of climbing and climbing and when im at like 5k alt i level out and build speed but then a minute later of trying to find targets i spot a group of bf109s or yak3s or la5s above me forcing me to dive or when i find a target they land a 1-2 hits when i avoid them coming directly at me and somehow making me unable to turn because my wing or elevator is orange -.-

What do you think about making AAA on airfield even more deadliest, but make "area" around (both wide and height) that AAA cover and time for airplane to land, reload, repair and take off (repair + reload + some more time to gain alt and speed)? If airplane doesn't leave in time then kick off the match and exp. and lions penalty. That will give more to bomber gameplay to reach "area" for repair and reload (and gain alt) and why not allow bombers do that in air (from - to alt circling).
Also add to gameplay that friendly ground forces can spot airplanes or :) to have ability to point on map to g.f. try to spot (and add cooling time for that ability).

the -28 was suposed to have more horse power ... but in game it is worse than the -25...

The jug has always been a plane people avoid because they can't fly it. I use 0% Rad, 75% mix and 85% prop pitch. The thing doesn't overheat, but it needs its supercharger modeled. Good job for dealing with shit teams.

My idea is that if the game timer goes under 30mins, there should be a border shrinker, therefore if someone is hiding the border will keep shrinking as the time goes down, this needs to be implemented.

There is only 1 problem with this "altitude advantage"
The P-47 can only go up to 20,000 feet
And by that time, the G.55S's are at 30,000 feet
The P-47 can only take 1 20mm shell to be killed
And most of the Germans and Italians could dance around this Jug
And did I say how the G.55S can get to your altitude in 1 minute?
