In this video I explained the working of 2 stroke petrol engine.
2 stroke IC engine is an internal combustion engine who completes 2 stroke of piston with 1 revolution of crankshaft. Which is, 1. Suction & Compression 2. Power & Exhaust
1St stroke - In this stroke, piston completes the suction and compression cycle. While piston in BDC, the transfer port and intake port opens.and fresh charge goes into the cylinder through transfer port. When piston goes bdc to tdc fresh charge will be compressed and new fresh charge comes into the crankcase through intake port.
2nd stroke - In this stroke, Just before piston reaching in top dead center the spark plug emits a spark and ignites the compressed air fuel mixture. In time of combustion a pressure wave generated and pushes to the piston to bottom dead center. After piston reaching bdc the exhaust port and the transfer port opens & the fresh charge goes into the cylinder and out the exhaust gases through exhaust port. This types of exhaust process called scavanging. This process will be continued.
