I just got a new sink installed and it also came with the grate looking thing for the bottom of the sink and I had a similar reaction to you at 16:40... kind of like, but why? Welp a few weeks of living with it and I'm realizing the sink scratches pretty easily 🤪 I'm not too mad, to me it's meant to be used, but if you care about that then maybe keep that grate in!

The rack in the bottom of the sink helps prevent the sink base from getting scratched. Benchtops look totally schmick.
