Leather bench was a great idea and OMG YOUR PAINTING CONFIDENCE! So impressive. My jaw dropped when you started rolling paint without covering the carpet. I am so clumsy I would make an enormous mess but you're so experienced and capable and I bow to thee ❤🙏

OMG I am SO glad you took down that wallpaper! I never liked it but when you chose it, I was like, eh, it’s not my house and to each her own. But yay, you finally got sick of it and it’s gone! A busy, high contrast design like that should be limited to one accent wall, or just underneath a chair rail. Being surrounded on with it in a small room, floor to ceiling? It’s too much. The blue paint (almost any blue) is a huge improvement. The final outcome is beautiful! And hey hey, good for you for not giving up. You kept going back to have them make it right. Well done, Cathrin!
Cathrin, when I grow up I want to tackle house projects just like you! Lol - no seriously, the way I would've hired someone to do half of everything you've already done to your home - mind blown! I appreciate the transparency on your feelings on this journey!

I love how this room turned out! The blue is beautiful and calm, much better than the hysterical wallpaper. Although I thought that was pretty in small amounts. I know I would have teared up too when I went through all of that with the paint.

Love the make over❤ and just wanted to say any mum doing it on her own would totally understand it is not just paint it’s 14 times moving that baby in and out of a car in one day! 😮I’d have been in tears, doing you leave it give up for the weekend try another day another colour and on top of that you made a video and had a deadline for it to come out. Omg I needed this motivation! I make UA-cam videos in a similar spirit as you (sort of) and after a year of full time travel I bought a vintage travel camper that I’ve decided to completely renovate… which I’m racing the winter weather to get done 😂 Still have so much to do before I can move in so watching you do this was so motivational! Great job! I know sometimes it can be frustrating to paint and decorate but you did an awesome job! I have been painting my ceilings the same color for over 20 years as an interior designer told me to do that and always looked awesome so good for you..

I would’ve had a breakdown too, said fk it and pick a different color so good for you for sticking with it. It’s just paint but it’s also a lot of wasted time when you have a schedule you’re trying to keep & a vision. I just had a fan stop working as well, you may just need to reset the receive. I also painted the ceiling in my living room and one of my spare bedrooms and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to having a plane white ceiling again, it’s just so nice plus one less thing you have to tape off.

13:12 Most broom/mop sticks will screw onto the paint roller, so you paint from the floor.
yeahhhhh I have a longer stick but I HATEEEE painting that way! I even have a roller twice as wide and I prefer using the smaller one lol

Honestly I've had the worst experiences at lowes in the south, I will always go to home depot over them
Have you tried an extension pole for the roller - particularly on the ceiling? That paint mixing, grrr, I will not go to the big box store any more, straight to the paint specialist store, and they are usually cheaper, plus do it right.
The funny thing about that painting "I came, I saw, I left early," I took it as going out to a party not at your guess staying over lol.

hahaha it's peel and stick!! so no wall damage thank goodness
i completely feel for you when something should be a simple one-time event ends up being like 4+ visit to correct what should have been done right the first time! its beyond frustrating!
