    Anyone know the length of his b16 deck? I feel like it's over 33in? That and the length of the nose and tail?

    • @kmw5100
      @kmw5100 8 років тому +2

      b16 shape is 8.475 wide and 31.875” long measured with a flat ruler. with a soft tape going down the top of the deck it reads as roughly 32.3” tail is around 6.5” and the nose is a little under 7” Best shape out if you don't mind the 14.25” wheelbase. but I sometimes prefer a longer wheelbase for bowls

    I skate a baker 8.5 with hollow indy 149s and I can actually skate better on a 8.5 than

    • @CheetosMUFUKKA
      @CheetosMUFUKKA 4 роки тому

      Get whatever you want. Nicer trucks are not a waste of money for people that aren’t sponsored and get free ones all the time. Thunders have always lasted me longer than others I’ve tried.
      Just go crazy with your first board and you’ll figure it what you do and don’t like. Maybe you’ll want it wider or thinner or whatever

    i dont get it.. how does everyone's bearings last them soo long? i break bearings every minute! EVEN SWISS!! no shit ! what am doing wrong?

    • @the6ig6adwolf
      @the6ig6adwolf 7 років тому +2

      sal christy how tight are the axle nuts? or maybe if you're a heavier guy that could contribute. also do you try and clean them, if so what do you use?

    • @ManiacDrummer1212
      @ManiacDrummer1212 7 років тому +2

      sal christy I break a lot of bearings dude I moved up to bones Swiss and it helps but even those I break. The Redz I WILL break within like 2 weeks. The factors that lend to it I think are my 5'11" height, the fact that I skate stairs sometimes, and the fact that I also love sliding especially while hill bombing. Height=more leverage against axles (I bend tensors) and stress on bearings, impact is obvious, and sliding gets particles into your shit which gives you pitted raceways and worse breakage. And about cleaning them yes you should clean and lube them but it has to be done perfectly or you will set your bearings up to attract dirt and break or jam in a week. I only weigh 140ish btw

      The reason why peoples bearings break so easily is because a lot of skaters don't use bearing spacers & give their wheels play, letting them move side to side. Which causes uneven pressure on the bearings. In actuality bearings should be used with bearing spacers. The spacer goes in the middle of the wheel between the two bearings. It's also important to make sure your washers are being used. The washers help bring everything together. Once you have the wheel on the trucks, you are suppose to tighten the axle nut snug (not too tight) to where the washers, bearings, & spacer all come together forming one rolling unit within the wheel. This gives the wheel a solid platform allowing the bearings to roll within the race track of each bearing case ring properly. This then allows the pressure to be evenly distributed to the whole wheel. Rather than to one side or the other. Hope this helps 👍. It is important to always keep your bearings clean. I clean my bearing regularly and have had sets of bearings last me 10 plus years. I wish someone would have explained this to me when I first started skating lol. I learned the hard way through trial and error over the course of 20 plus years skating lol.

    How could he ride 169's on a 8.5" deck? 169's are nearly a 9" axle....

      more grind surface and stability I guess.
      but the fact that he rides loose indy's must mean he wouldn't have a problem turning either.
      I know people who can ride .5 inch too big trucks but they always do it with really skinny wheels and no speedrings to balance it out. kinda makes sense.

    • @sethnicholls7861
      @sethnicholls7861 4 роки тому

      People don't understand that having a 9-inch axle doesn't mean you're wheelset sits out 9in out from the hangar. Technically, they're (wheels) probably going to land right in that 8.5 range with the rest of the lil bit of axel sticking out to that 9inch measurement and if you're running fairly narrow wheels it'll work FINE..

    he has to change trucks often because indy standard bushings sucks. they are the best at the beginning but they start break very fast and are too loose...

      +dante bost I'm just wondering how he skates with that loose trucks... Strange, but always my indy standard bushings breaks very fast and make very, very loose. New ones are great, but older are loose af if you have nut flush.

    • @IAMZAMEK
      @IAMZAMEK 8 років тому +1

      Bones Bushings Medium sucks. They break very fast. People say that aftermarket Indy Mediums are great, but they also break fast and make very, very loose with nut flush. That is why I think that he often change trucks/bushing, becouse they seem to be a bit tight on videos.
