I love how he turned out legit good and not just some dude coasting on his dad's name.
Not only legit but a completely different type of skater.
I agree that it is cool that he has turned out to be talented like his dad. But at the same time, I guarantee he still gets that mad respect from fellow skaters the second they find out that he is the son of the great Tony Hawk. It's just a bonus that he can back that name up with some great skills.

My favorite thing about this is how many times he falls then gets back up again, no matter how many times he gets hurt, until he gets the move right. That’s what it takes to be good at skating, or anything really.

It's surprising that this guy actually worked pretty hard to get as good at skating as he is. Most people wouldn't really bother having Tony Hawk for a dad. They'd just get their way in the industry because of who's nuts they used to swim in.

I like that you still show all the failed attempts of each trick instead of removing them for a perfect reel. Way I see it, the more footage you have of all the failed attempts leading up to the successful trick, the more of a badass you are. Shows how difficult it really is, shows how persistent you are, and shows that you are confident enough to let everybody see your mistakes. Right on, man.
I'm sure everyone knows how Tony H. hooked up Andrew Reynolds in the Birdhouse days. I think it's pretty cool how he has done it back for Riley. Not that the dude hasn't earned it. It's still fuckin cool. (Just the meaningless opinion of a 47 year old Punk Skateboarder kid)

However, your suggestion of a Skate 4, with Skate 3 dynamics (i.e Hardcore Mode or realistic mode with flick it controls) and the Tony Hawk name to get Sales with the Kids/non-skaters might work! One of my favorite parts of this video is at 3:55. The family walking by in the background and the kid in the blue shirt's jaw just drops. Totally created a core memory for that kid. Riley is the man. Killer skater who paved his own way and didn't rest on the reputation of his father.
I lived and skated for a half a year in California. To me it seemed that the entire state was a skatepark. And Riley shows me what can be done. What a legend.

Can't even Ollie yet (God I've tried though) but I did do a fakie 180 kick turn coming rolling back off a ramp the other day. After I hit it on my 8th try or so, I understood why this sport/art is do rewarding.

Watching these guys skate is such an inspiration and something I think all the bubble gummers out there should pay attention to. You don't just get good overnight kids, it takes practice, practice and more practice. These guys put their bodies on the line time and time again to pull off the most insane tricks. Concrete is their best friend and their worst enemy. Hats off to young Hawke, truly his fathers son.
