Haha, true! The second version does have a kind of ramp on the side of it, so that's kind of there but in the wrong spot. The Lego playset is quite tiny compared to this one though (I need to include the official playscale with the comparsion vid later this year), so they probably had to choose between the front glass dome or the bottom part of the ship. 🤔 They'd probably need to go UCS to really be able to put it in.
I depends on how much spare pieces you have. I was able to source more than half the pieces from my own spare bricks, which saves a lot. And on how much local Bricklink sellers you have, since the farther away you order, the more shipping costs you have to pay. Might have to do a video on ordering through bricklink one of these days. 🤔
Based on the Rebrickable estimates, if you plan on buying all the needed bricks, expect to pay around $1000 or more. Given how massive and intricate this model is, that's perhaps not an overblown price, although it's still a grand of cash, so many of us will have to think long and hard before deciding to commit to owning one ourselves. Still, even if one does balk at the high price tag, it's great to have this video for the vicarious thrills. A truly impressive build, both visually and structurally.
@@AdamBragg Interesting. When I look at the rebrickable inventory, it estimates the total cost to €560. I tested the current full cost for local orders through bricklink yesterday (download inventory to a bricklink list and then buy all, select local sellers) and got to a total of €445, including an estimate for shipping. I feel like there's a big difference in cost depending on how many sellers you have in your local area, presuming that more competition means lower prices. Strange that EU bricklink is cheaper even though we seemingly don't get the very big clearance sales over here for sets. (There is a conversion difference, but at 1.08 dollar to euro, that doesn't explain why it's almost double the price 🤔 )
@@CoreFlux I suspect it's the difference in shipping which you're seeing. In North America, shipping can double or more the total cost, especially if you end forced to go with multiple sellers to get 100% of the bricks.
@@AdamBragg If we stay in-country, the shipping here starts from €5 for a package with tracking, if you pick it up at a pick up point. So manageable as a cost if you try to get big lots. For teeny tiny lots that don't weigh a lot, you can get untracked envelop shipping for like 3.5. For the example I did, it came to 380 for the parts and 65 for shipping (10 lots/sellers).
I assume you dismantled the Brickvault playscale Ghost? I would love to know your thoughts between the two sets. I have eyed both of these sets and I think the smaller Brickvault version more aligns with the scale I aim for, but fitting multiple minifigs in the cockpit is a big deal for me too.
I have not dismantled it yet! I'm waiting on having the space to put the two models next to each other in one shot to be able to do a comparison shot. (Hoping to have the room at the end of the year) A lot of people have asked for it by now, so I want to do it when I can. They definitely have differences, the 2bricks version was also made when shots from Ahsoka were available so some things are more in line with that version, while the BrickVault version is mainly based on the Rebels show I think. But yeah, 2bricks version is definitely bigger, but has some advantages from its size, so it depends on what you want to get/how you want to use it. 🙂
Only saw Rebels as an adult, but its adventureousness (adventurosity?) spoke to me. I saw it around the same time as I got back into Lego. And the Ghost is in my top two star wars ships for sure. 😁
@@watrebel9595 You can look up the build on rebrickable (instructions in description), download the parts list to bricklink (need an account on there to do this), and then click "buy all" to see what the costs are. Keep in mind this does not show shipping. I looked it up for where I live, to order all 4700 parts, it comes down to 380 euros, from 10 sellers. Usually shipping is about 5-8 dollars here so lets say 6.5 on average, 65 total shipping so 445 euro (dollar amount would probably be close depending on local sellers and parts availability). However, I think I spent less than 200 total, because I have a good amount of spare bricks. So it's still expensive, but you can try to get costs down a bit. Keeps being expensive though, especially if you're still in school. Good luck on the hunt!
A lot of people want a UCS Ghost and I think this is similar to what Lego should put out, the Ghost isn’t popular enough to warrant a massive $500+ UCS set but if they took this approach and made in the $350 range I feel like it could do very well, not to mention it’s fairly in scale with the UCS Falcon.
Yeah, I wonder what it would cost as an official set. It weighs around 5kgs. The Falcon is 13, the Razor crest 8, according to the internet. Probably also depends how much minifigs they put in.
This is amazing. Feels like UCS or more. Must be large. I'm really surprised with all this you didnt place the figs in some places like as in TV show and add some dialogues over music. Would be fun to recreate some of the moments especially for a video like this. Like a cherry on top:p I'm guessing around 3-4 k pieces total?
During editing, I did wonder if I should have added some more on point shots that way (like think about seating in the cockpit for instance), but might be a good way to judge the two customs I have that way. The ghost by itself is 4700 pieces, Phantom one just shy of 200 and Phantom 2 just over 400; so all of them together 5300. I linked 2bricks' instructions on Rebrickable in the description.
It probably needs some more screen time in Ahsoka season 2 before getting the star treatment. Alternatively, looking at the Razor Crest, it might need to get blown up first? 😅😂
I think I spent like a little over 200 for all the pieces I needed still, but I did have a ton in my spare pieces. I believe on bricklink it was 440 to get all the pieces including shipping, but there's a big variance on prices, depending on where you live. (shipping here is cheaper than in US for example, small distances)
Who knows, if this build gets enough views and gets Lego thinking. The last video I had that went big was the UCS style Razor Crest, and then later that year we got an official Lego version. Now I'm not saying the video was connected to that, but on the other hand... 😁

If you're careful and confident enough, yes. 😆 It's quite sturdy, there are a few ways to hold it, focusing along the very sturdy core, and I don't think I've had anything fall off by accident so far. I've only swooshed it a couple of times, but have had to relocate it three times because of dwindling shelf space and reordening my collection a bit. The only thing that got knocked off once was a bit of one of the engines, but that because something smashed into the side of it, and it was the only damage. It also came off in one bit, so really seemingly one of the sturdies customs I have in my collection.
It's still a Playscale technically, Brickvault has a truly minifig scale that's even bigger, but this one has more interior rooms I think. And it's slightly easier to carry. It's a lot, lot bigger than the official Lego playscale ghosts, that's for sure 😁
@@DonDon109 I prefer this one over the brickvault version and the official Lego ones. This one's the scale I like best, gives you a lot of display while still fitting on top of my closet. It's more expensive than the official version, but more affordable than the minifig scale one. Depending on your available space and other ships it might be different for you.
I got it from Brix Box (UK shop), they also made the cool wanted poster tiles. You can get both together: brixbox.co.uk/product/display-case-for-lego-minifigures-from-the-star-wars-rebel-sets
If they include the Phantoms, it's 5300 pieces, and a lot of them big pieces, so that would feel like a good deal, especially with some minifigs thrown in. 😁
Looking it up, a minifigure scale (1:45) venator would still be 26m/84ft. Cost wise it would probably cost closer to 100k, and even completely hollow would be very hard to swoosh. 😅Of course, if Lego then sells only 10, they make a million. 🤔
His instructions are on rebrickable, so if you're up for collecting the parts (through bricklink or similar) getting it for yourself is within your grasp. Definitely a great addition. 😊
The numbers do seem to suggest that about half the viewers just want the review parts, the other half want to see the speedbuild/build process as well. I think I like watching building videos myself, that's what got me started making these, and now with some ASMR clicks and pops in there I feel like I have it close to how I like it. I have tried a few pure review videos but those seemed to do less well so far, but perhaps it's because I put myself in frame or don't get the lighting well on those shots? I'm hoping to have a new space at the end of the year where I can film with better lighting, and it should make it much easier to have some more wide angle shots. I am working on two videos, and one is doing some reviews of smaller builds. Perhaps that one will be to your liking 🙂
It's somewhere between "normal" playscale and minifig scale, a kind of playscale plus. Perhaps even double plus since it might be slightly above 2bricks' usual scale, then again, the Ghost is a big ship as well. You can still swoosh it and it has play features, so make of that what you will. 😁

It also came off in one bit, so really seemingly one of the sturdies customs I have in my collection.
Wow
is this minifig scale?
It's still a Playscale technically, Brickvault has a truly minifig scale that's even bigger, but this one has more interior rooms I think. And it's slightly easier to carry. It's a lot, lot bigger than the official Lego playscale ghosts, that's for sure 😁
@@CoreFlux im stuck on which one to buy. do you have a preferance?
@@DonDon109 I prefer this one over the brickvault version and the official Lego ones. This one's the scale I like best, gives you a lot of display while still fitting on top of my closet. It's more expensive than the official version, but more affordable than the minifig scale one. Depending on your available space and other ships it might be different for you.
Where’s the case from
I got it from Brix Box (UK shop), they also made the cool wanted poster tiles. You can get both together: brixbox.co.uk/product/display-case-for-lego-minifigures-from-the-star-wars-rebel-sets
i think lego would sell this as a $500 ucs set.
If they include the Phantoms, it's 5300 pieces, and a lot of them big pieces, so that would feel like a good deal, especially with some minifigs thrown in. 😁
Now here me out if Lego wanted to make bank a 2000 dollar minifig scale venitor
Looking it up, a minifigure scale (1:45) venator would still be 26m/84ft. Cost wise it would probably cost closer to 100k, and even completely hollow would be very hard to swoosh. 😅Of course, if Lego then sells only 10, they make a million. 🤔
why are your hands so weird looking ??
Probably the lens doing some distortion. I have pretty normal hands 😂
I want it
His instructions are on rebrickable, so if you're up for collecting the parts (through bricklink or similar) getting it for yourself is within your grasp. Definitely a great addition. 😊
Dear God thated take days to build lol
More build time = more fun. 😁
u should start making normal reviews not everyone wants to see the building process some people want to go in-depth on a completed build…
very good video for what it is though! just consider making build vids and actual reviews on mocs!
This isnt playscale
It's somewhere between "normal" playscale and minifig scale, a kind of playscale plus. Perhaps even double plus since it might be slightly above 2bricks' usual scale, then again, the Ghost is a big ship as well. You can still swoosh it and it has play features, so make of that what you will. 😁
It’s so big it is play scale !
