Nice setup. I have a Hawk at about 5 inches that I cant wait to start seeing some color. I have a venustus, fusco, and tiawan reef already colored up and looking good. The thick boy in my tank is a jack dempsey.
Cant lie im not really into malawis but seeing them colour up over time does sound interesting. They look so different to those bland fry id never have thought they were even the same fish.
Your fish seems to be growing really well! How is your feeding schedule? how much and how many times a day? i would also really like to know how much water you change per week. I cant seem to get my haps to grow nearly as fast, in fact they dont really seem to grow. I hope to hear back. Awesome vid btw!
Nice collection of fish. Black background is great. i know the fake rock back grounds are trendy but i chose not to muck around with that in my tanks as well. look forwards to seeing more videos
It’s funny with the tiger becoming tank boss and being more of a kind boss, I had some young blue labs and yellow tail acei cichlids and I put them in with my full grown yellow lab and he was instantly the tank boss but he is very nice to them and the worst he will do is push them out of his little tunnel (they have 6 but like his better)
Damn that’s some commitment there, a year and 6 months! I was very eager when mine were at that 2” that I eventually bought a few larger guys just to have something nice to look at in the meantime lol. I’d take out that Ahli, he doesn’t stand much of a chance with those big bruisers. He would fit in better with more passive haps like Borleyi or even peacocks. I have a mix of haps and peacocks so it’s easier to mix less aggressive fish in my experience
Great video buddy. I have a 150 with a small tiger oscar fish" about 4.5 inches long. He killed both of the arowanas I added to his tank. One was pretty big' about 8 inches. He basically killed them over night. He then killed two albino Oscar's I added. Yesterday I added another tiger oscar like him and they seem to get along perfectly. I want to house more fish in my tank. What can I do without having to remove my oscar?
Thanks! Sorry to hear about the fish. I’ve mostly seen docile oscars, but if one is this aggressive, I’d recommend keeping solo or with just the other Oscar that he seems fine with. I’ve found silver dollars and plecos to be the most successful tank mates, but it’s tough to say for sure given your aggressive Oscar. Best of luck
I have a new Albino Eye Biter. Had a question, will it change color as well if it becomes dominant? It's current white with yellow tipped fins, red eyes. Will the yellow become bolder or...?

it's a very nice angle to do. i can feel how satisfying it is to watch them grow and color up.

Thanks man! Bigger tank coming soon as well 👍🏻

Great growth. Couple of questions: how many times a day, do you feed? And how big of water changes are you doing?
Thanks! Usually 1-2 times per day with one fasting day per week. And roughly 50% water changes every week
@@CichlidBros Nice, have been feeding my haps once a day but have been bumping it up to twice for a few days a week and about 60-70% water changes.

Haha yeah, next time I’d probably get them larger to start, it’s been a very long wait. Still cool to watch the progression though
Very nice!
Thanks!
Thanks dude
Good video

Yep it might just a bit with dominance
Very nice 👌
Thanks for watching!
Nice 👍
Would like your opinion on keeping a Malawi Trout & Hawk with Peacocks?? Will it work or a bad idea?
Typically will be okay. Especially if you have a 6ft tank
@@CichlidBros Thank you! Keep up the great work Bros!
Where did you purchase fish from? Were they able to vent fish that early or did you JUST hope for males? Beautiful fish BTW!!
Thank you! Ordered them from mostly from Tampa Bay cichlids as “guaranteed males” but ended up getting a female or two out of the bunch
@@CichlidBros thanks for reply. Will have to check tampa bay out. Keep up the great content!
Can we keep these in 4 feet tank?
How fast does a Aristochromis christyi growth rate
Hope you have plans to upgrade long-term 125g is too Small for a lot of those guys.. nice fish
I do. Mentioned it in the video. Will be upgraded in the next few months
@@CichlidBros .. my bad must have missed it somewhere then
No worries. Should be a fun update video coming soon 👍🏻
