    I switched from Mazda to 24 Palisade Calligraphy. CX90 was nice but not ideal for big families with a dog. I can fit 4 adults 2 kids and a lab in a Palisade with space for cargo, not happening in the Mazda. I also like the luxury and tech amenities of the Palisade more. Engine wise, i would give it to the CX90. 30 mpg on the highway with that inline 6 is amazing.

      Bad news. Mazda slashed the prices on the cx90 down. Now a turbo s premium plus is little over $55,000. They understood the prices being too high and matching cx70 pricing. In US, competition offered more for less, but now, they have a chance. They need to fix the transmission problems though.

    We bought our cx-9 once we had kids because of how well our 2018 Mazda 3 drove. I was on the side of practicality over driving and suggested the Kia or Hyundai however my wife stated “I have to drive this everyday and I want my Mazda”….. needless to say amazing driving experience and the 90 would win in our house if we were buying a new one.

    [45 cubic feet] - How wide is the cargo opening between wheel wells? Cubic feet may matter in a grain container, but in SUVs people want to know what they can put in the back. Palisade may have more cubic feet, but the pass between wheel wells looked narrower, at least looking at the video.

    Mazda all day. I love what Hyundai has been doing, across all their brands but I love cars and I love driving. Hyundai’s tech is a few notches above Mazda. For me though, if I’m gonna be behind the wheel, gimme the Mazda. Their center dial is great once you get used to it. Way better than reaching for any touchscreen IMO. Note: I do not own a Mazda anymore, but I still love what they do. They’re definitely not for everyone though.

    I tried all the contenders (Telluride, Pathfinder, etc.) No comparison in value. I got the Turbo S Premium which has more power than the model you tested - I should've tried the Hybrid, but I didn't. Regarding the 21-inch wheels - if I could've got my model with the smaller wheels, I would have. I'm not autocrossing this things and a taller sidewall gives better bump absorption and, better protection from pothole-derived wheel damage (I'm in Pothole, Pennsylvania), and MUCH cheaper replacement tires. But I couldn't so "F" it - I'm rocking the 21s. PS third-row seats are for kids only - not a big MFer like you.

    My wife leased a palisade. I was 90% sure we were getting a cx90. But when I drove it I didn't like it. The steering was to heavy and felt artificial. Somehow you think that equates to steering feel. I thought it felt like garbage. It has waaay less interior space. Your hair was touching the ceiling in the second row and you somehow think that's a non issue. It would drive anyone nuts to have their hair brushing up on the ceiling. Then I drove the telluride and was blown away. It drives sportier than the palisade with perfectly weighted steering and suspension that soaks up every road imperfection. I'm so disappointed with the Mazda.

Every Hyundai I've owned had problems and tons of recalls. A lot of recalls were made without a immediate solution or fix. My daughter owns one that she has had recalls for over a year and still no fix for it. With as much as cars cost today, I'm just not giving them my money.

      Disagree with this. Ive had Hyundai in 3 continents and 3 models (Middle East, Korea and Latin America) and have had precisely zero technical issues in 10 years of driving them. The 10 year warranty shows they believe in the reliability of their tech. The only issue I had was a battery going flat but it did so after 5 years which youd expect anyway. Maybe Ive just been lucky but until Im not, I trust Hyundai over others. That said, I really do like the CX90 and its the first time in a long time Ive been tempted away. But for me, the tech and space is what wins it for Palisade and Im getting mine in April.

    • @jp1087
      @jp1087 4 місяці тому

      @@thisweekmetaverse I'll agree with you here. I've had 3 different Hyundai models over the past 17 years, all different drivetrains, 2.0L Elantra, 3.8L Entourage, now a 2.4L Santa Fe. The Elantra with a 2.0 was a commuter getting driven about 2k per month, switched to synthetic oil and filter and changed the oil only twice a year. I put 175K on the Entourage 3.8 I bought brand new. That thing took a beating from our family with 3 young kids from long trips to camping and hauling lumber, and it never let us down. All I ever did to it was an alternator replacement and an a/c condenser. When I sold it the engine was as quiet and smooth as the first day I bought it. Currently on a 2020 Santa Fe with the N/A 2.4. 53k on it and no issues, still haven't even replaced the factory tires on it yet. Got the lifetime powertrain & bumper-to-bumper so that one's a keeper. Just like any other manufacturer, there are duds. But comparing the Palisade to everything else, we have a solid 3.8V6 with a good history and a ton of reliable tech on the base models vs a bunch of new turbo 4-bangers with hybrids. You can't use the words "reliabilty" and "brand new design" in the same sentence. Only time will tell whether these new turbo designs will go the mile, and so far, they've only been in use a couple years.

    The only positive thing i can say about the cx90 is that its nice to see they finally ditched the all black, cavelike interior. they copied hyundai partially and went w lighter color A and D pillars only, plus the headliner. the new engine is suspect. over designed, overly complicated, expensive to repair and service. the turbos dont seem to do much on lower trims when you compare numbers to NA v6 engines in the segment. funny how the korean 3 row formula is beating both the american and japanese oems at their own game. the sales numbers prove it. we should get a new explorer and durango here soon and the traverse/acadia and GCL are new, but still lag behind pilot, ascent, and gr highlander. 11 suvs to choose from aint bad though and if you like even smaller 3row suvs, theres 3 more...highlander, sorento and santa fe are keeping their 3rd rows for some reason. i wish the new santa fe would stay 2 row to compete w passport and GC as offroaders. the mini van is still king on space and cargo though, actually more than even a full size suv.

      They provide good reviews regardless of the vehicle type their filming. I don’t see any issue with expanding a bit into segments that many people buy. If they stuck to just pickups, the amount of content on their channel would be halved, and that would be a bummer for everyone.
