I really like that you're sponsored by ONE. They're a great promotion, they deserve to be more famous in the west. Also I'm a pretty casual fan so it's cool to see your breakdowns or heads up on the upcoming fights
I feel like their media game is leagues and leagues and leagues behind the ufc, even in Asia. That’s part of why they are not as popular. They only have fighters but no characters
Rodtang Superbon Nong o haggerty i would say there are some characters
soon i believe one will start making alot of infrastructure in the US
@@heavensubculture as juliusk1 said, Rodtang Haggerty Superbon, also Tawanchai now.
Also they promoted Harrison vs Nong-O fight. Although I don't watch MMA really, they also have Demetrius Johnson, and a few asian fighters who are top tier.
Those are some pretty epic guys.
And if by "characters" you mean big-mouths who make a fuss and Trash-Talk, that's not the Muay Thai Spirit at all (respect and sportsmanship) and I'd rather watch fighters than clowns (who know how to fight I must admit).
@@thejoojoo9999 no I don’t mean trash talk I mean characters. They promote a lot but many of their top guys could use even more time to talk about themselves and their stories and show their character more often. Something like the embedded series would be nice. Rodtang haggerty I agree they are promoted but For me personally they feel lot more distant compared to top ufc fighters even though I follow both promotions
In Rodtang's more recent fights, especially after his lost to Mighty Mouse, he has been way more aggressive out of round 1. Seems the lost has sparked a new flame in him. Heard he also might want to transition to MMA in the future. Rodtang seems to have only gotten better as a striker since then. Which I didn't know was possible. He utilizes his elbows way more now and he grappling/clench has seemed to improve. He's a bit more active in the clench as well. He's still young so it's gonna be exciting to see how much crazier he can become.
mighty mouse beats all
GREAT! now I cant beat Rodtang with this video!
All that strategy went out the window today. Lasiri didn't even put up a competition with Rodtang taunting left and right. What a fighter, and I'm so jealous you got to spar with him
He should be a marathon runner.
@@renchi6989 Who? Lasiri? Nah more like professional tag player hehehe
I havent watched the full vid yet, but what I noticed with Rodatangs fight with Mighty Mouse, is that DJ kept on going for the clinch after he hit rodtang. Thus nullifying any damage rodtang could do in the pocket striking. Honestly to me that has been the most effective strategy against him Ive seen.
Except DJ was doing mma clinches mostly. Those are not legal in muay thai.
@@Sylaous you mean a body lock? Rodtang himself does that all the time. Also, as long as your grabbing from the waist up its allowed in Muay Thai. For example, taking someone’s back in standing in a Muay Thai fight is a high scoring position.
What do you mean by “mma” clinches, and have you ever fought in a Muay Thai match? If so, what promotion because I’m very interested in a muay thai promotion that doesn’t implement clinch rules properly.
@@Nergal123 when you have mma rules, there's more leverage for you to transition your clinches, is what the commentor is implying. Because with only MT rules, you're mostly likely limited to clinches and grappling
@@Sylaous My understanding was that they had full muay thai rules in the first round, so there shouldn't be any illegal mma clinches. Could be wrong tho
@@ossi8963 It was full muay thai rules yes. Dj didn't do anything illegal.
Solid points, Coach. Definitely a tall order. Can't wait for the card this weekend!
this is literally like a workshop. I was looking for this type of content. Thank you!!
Tenshin handled him pretty well with head movement and counters. I know it was under kickboxing rules but it’s not like Rodtang does a bunch of clinching.
This
Your answer reminds me of David Goggins telling Joe about our terrible habit. Our professors and teachers taught us to "double-down on our strengths". Its upside down, our strengths can take the backseat so we can use that effort to fortify our weaknesses. In this case, I guess that means focusing not on Rodtang's weaknesses but on our own to be able to stop him. Long-story-short, easier said than done.
The Megaman and video references made this a 10/10 video. You're awesome!
This is an amazing analysis, you the man Shane
Been watching for years dont even know you but makes me so happy to see your success
This is a great video, maybe this can become a series. Every week Shane pick a famous fighter and come up with ways to fight and beat him or her in this fantasy scenario
Writer Jack Slack used to have a recurring series of articles called Killing the King/Queen and wrote about what a fighter could do to try and dethrone the defending UFC Champs.
TJ Dillashaw said Slack's piece on Renan Barao was used as part of his game plan for the first fight.
@fighttips, bro ive been watching your stuff since you were out by the dumpster in running shoes. I never knew how legit you were until i went to a few different boxing/kickboxing gyms. Youre actually a beast thanks for the content
I heard them talk about you on Joe Rogan‘s podcast the other day with Buckley do UFC fighter used to watch your videos that must feel absolutely awesome
The answer is you can't
Exactly 😏
Ask demetrius johnson
@@demonic7764 A great man once said “Go sleep, go sleep.”
FOH, he didn’t do well against the Walter Goncalves & was getting lit TF up. I didn’t have Rodtang winning & he got too much favoritism from the fans & judges! That kid Goncalves didn’t fall for the BS antics of Rodtang, either! Rodtang wont right him again. Goncalves has his number!
Tenshin did
I'd tag team with BoB and let him take all the hard strikes! LOL... Seriously, this is some elite level tips! Great video!
Love seeing how you came from doing videos in car parks and talking about walking around with a gum-shield to what youre doing now amazing
"How to beat Rodtang?"; simple, just wait until his senior and fight him then😂
You can beat him, in ur dreams while knocked out
Hahaha
Jake Paul: I’m damn good at that.
@@BlackjackTASR hahaha
@@BlackjackTASR good one😂
bro i love your videos
i’ve been waiting for film break downs
point 3 (fire vs fire) is crazy. I'd pay to see that!
And his elbows are incredible, as seen in his last fight
Footwork feints, throw punches when he kicks, angles, head movement and counters.
I've been following you for 2 years now! You should do some challenges like 100$ tournament or a pro fighter fought 10 black belts something like that It will blow up for sure we'll good vids mate u helped me alot!
or maybe pro fighter fought 10 street fighters 😳
Been slowly getting into martial arts and your channel again. I remember I would watch your videos in middle school and think I was a pro… until I had my first street fight and all he things I practiced just flew out the window. But I still am glad to see you’re still making videos even tho the underdog lost in my allegory. Much love
Did you win?
@@Yoko.Kurama I didn’t unfortunately. Was unfamiliar with that much adrenaline at the time and just started throwing haymakers lol. I learned very quickly why sparring is needed. I used to just copy Shane’s movements almost like kata through each video.
I recently learned that his name is actually “Lut Tang,” in Thai means “Tank (Lut means car).” Some probably know that already but I personally didn’t make that connection until my friend told me.
would like to see more of these type of videos especially for boxers
The only way to beat Rodtang is to fight him before he do the ritual thingy. That's the time they summon they power.
Thanks for taking us back to Mega Man!
First haha:) great content brother!
easier said then done good vid
Haven't watched the video yet but I would say distance and footwork are key. You have to out point him because you can't ko him. Get in and out fast and maintain distance. Much easier said than done though obviously
The first fight with Jonathan Haggerty was the only time I saw Rodtang look tired
Analysis so good you got some people thinking they could beat him
I haven’t watched the video yet but this is what I think. the only hope of a finish would be catching him with a double flying knee. To survive to the final bell and maybe get a decision you could try move and just touch him with combos overload the rodtang software with feints quick and harder punches alternate kicks inside outside high low, lead hand lead kick combos to the body finished with a step in knee. Don’t get caught up thinking he’s invincible if he boxes he can be out boxed. Make sure you do not sleep on the kicks off the hands or your leg will be butchered in no time. Be more physical than rodtang do anything you can to throw him off his confidence game posture on him frame on him grab his wrists do not just run away out of range press forward or hold the range and control his lead hand.
Haggerty is very sharp and technical and he landed some clean shots on him but rodtang was able to take his best shots and still beat him. Rodtang is a monster
You can use a cross arm block, and block his hooks and use check hooks too.
Thank you, training for Rod tang now on my little brother
Thanks Fight Tips! I will now be able to beat Rodtang.
To beat Rodtang, you have to have a heavy spam kicker style.
In Thailand they call it the Muay Tay Va Da. Angel style. Like Superlek or Yodsaenklai. I know Yod is bigger but that style.
Great
I love the Megaman ref
it seems everyone wants to fight him with muay thai.. I say use something that muay thai fighters barely see bc thats gonna be the hardest for him to read and deal with. obv wrestling and jiu jitzu are good, but also karate type stuff I think would work well.
With a doubleleg of course :)
The narrow Muay Thai stance invites a double leg takedown every time
The answer is really simple and direct.. you just don’t, why? (Rodtang born with unique passive skill, all the physical attack reduced by 85% when he gets hit and whenever he hit himself he start regeneration, regeneration is double during that period of time)
lmfao. i think you play too much video games.🤣🤣🤣🤣
HA.HA.HA GOOD LUCK!!!CARNT WAIT TO C THAT FIGHT.
Mr. Haggerty needs to watch it.
You’d need to keep him at range, potshot and back away. Getting into a slugfest with him won’t work, and chances are you’ll be countered hard if you stay in his range
Agreed. Walter Goncalves did a tremendously good job surviving in the cage with Rodtang. I'd analyze his fight style and try to find ways to improve from there.
Holy shit that's my coach in the corner with you sparring rodtang
Because of him I am fearless 😌thank u sir
Before I hear this, I'm thinking tie up and knees? Teeps to TRY to keep him at bay perhaps to the thighs. Lots of feints and broken rhythm tempo changes with effective shots to the body since his chin is made of "fuck you that didn't hurt"...will circle back after video lol
Edit: wasn't far off, good to know
Shane: how do you beat Rodtang?
DJ: take his back!
"I wanna hear how you would beat Rodtang, comment down below"
Shane, there is no way in hell I could beat Rodtang, but thanks for believing in me T^T
To me, the most comfy way of beating rodtang (I say comfy, yet fighting this man is the exact opposite of comfy) is out scoring him. When i say out score him, i dont mean be relaxed and patient, stall and stay far. I mean be fast-paced, active while on the back pedal, and out-work him. Trying to beat him at his own game is too risky. That's what he wants you to do. If you see his bouts with kanoar, the first fight against petchdam, kaimukkao, rungkit, they managed their distance perfectly with the jab and utilized their kicks the best they could. After every punch, they threw a heavy roundhouse or a piercing long knee to win the exchange. They smothered his combinations with clinches and make him have to reset everytime he engaged. They never fell for his mind games, when he showboated they showboated back. In short terms, work smarter, and harder than him.
Now a Video: how to Beat joseph lasiri😂😂💪
Hello,do you think than a pure boxer can win a muay thay fighter i see that 30/70
Man it is damn fearsome to face rodtang in a ring knowing that he is always physically stronger than you. The only fighter who I think has done something to Rodtang is haggerty, because of his technical mastery in his kicks, and elbows. We have yet to see a fighter who has go toe-to-toe with rodtang and has superior power, technique and conditioning than him.
nice
someone once said, "everyone has a game plan until they get punched in the face."
What about rodtang 2.0 which we have seen dismantle jacob smith
You're right. Before he was a juggernaut. In this fight he was a super technical Fighter AND a juggernaut.
@@thejoojoo9999 yeah it seemed like he was untouchable and even if he does get hit now whats it going to do to him lmao
Whenever I see his videos I just imagine if he will get past his 30's without retiring. It is too dangerous take all of that
How to have a strong chin like Rodtang? What type of exercises is that?
Talent. You can't condition for headshots.
Big traps and neck muscles and swinging witg the punch
Also dense skull which unfortunately u can't change
train neck with neck curls
With a good ground game.
its a muay thai fight not an mma fight.
@@bucko3353 question was "how do you beat him", with MT alone will be difficult.
@@Symbrio the reason he is making this video is because rodtang has an upcoming fight which is a Muay Thai fight, so Shane could only offer advice within the realm of Muay Thai. But yes, within the rule set of Muay Thai any hope of beating rodtang is very low.
@@bucko3353 It's a joke bro
Thanks coach, I feel like i can beat all the best fighters in the world now with your tips
the pfp has me rolling
He just got rocked not too long ago
Pray
Doing videos with Gabriel Varga really rubbed off on you, hasn't it. ;-)
ok ty now i’m gonna fight rodtang brb
rip
@@fighttips i got deaded
Run
"Choke him in the 2nd rnd." -Demetrious Johnson probably lol
Yeah survive
Yo Shane! Do you know you got a shoutout on Joe Rogan from Joaquin Buckley? He said he used your videos to traon when he had no team. If I'm delayed im sorry lol
Dude! I heard -- that made my day!!
@@fighttips invite him on the channel. That would be pretty cool. And I'm sure he'd love to be on too. Maybe do a technique thing and you guys can do some sparring. Or maybe you can coach him for a day.
He's a tough one but I remember he got KOd with an elbow while exiting the clinch when he was younger.
Might still be an exploitable avenue to explore 🤔
I'd look at the way Tenshin Nasukawa beat him, only non thai fighter that I know of to do it, Rodatang looked tired and rocked in the last round when Tenshin took it.
That was such a great fight. Wish they would run it back
This
Volume.
When someone has that type of toughness and durability you dont go on them throwing one full power 3-4 punch combination
You focus on your volume
Muay Thai fighters and kickboxers are not good at pushing up their pace, thats one of the resons why Rodtang has so much success
That fight was years ago and at that times Rodtang tried too much to punch Tenshin in the face and Tenshin has a very good headmovement. Now if they rematch again i think Rodtang will aim to the mid section instead.
If you think rodtank was tired in that fight, tenchin would have been too close to death
now that i possess that secret knowledge i canfinally go to thailand and become muay that champion
0:08 Easy. Restomp the groin.
My plan to beat Rodtang would center around my 7" height advantage and 75 pound weight advantage. 😄❤
Shane vs Rodtang let's see If it works 😆
Also don’t timidly retreat into his range and sit there and trade out of fear, the dude is going to kick your head off if you exchange at a pure Muay thai distance.
I comment this here today, so that in five years time when I defeat Rodtang Jitmuangnon, you can all return to it
Grapple grapple grapple, that's it, that's my plan
First do not go full power punch against him coz u will lose balance and he will find a way to hit you back. 2 No teep coz he will catch your kick and follow with a heavy punch. 3. Dont retreat backward, go left and right instead and try to score with 50% power punch and kick so it easier to maintain balance and your ability to defend and evade.
Rodtangs the goat, the Johnson fight was a simulation
I Mean, Walter Goncalves showed a really interesting approach on fighting rodtang. He arguiably won that fight.
Now his camp knows the game plan! Nice.
I suddenly have this urge to play Mega man after watching this
Step 1: juggernaut suit
You take him down like Mighty Mouse
Turtle up and pray he'd show some mercy is the only way.
With wing chun
Rungkit kinda just did teeps and ran away and beat Rodtang super clean
Wrestling and Jitz
Yeah in a Muay Thai match lol
@@thejoojoo9999 Dirty clinching, put your weight on him. Assuming that you weigh more than him.
@@abdullaali1799 I can assure you that Rodtang knows how to do that very well. He's probably done 30min to 1h of clinch every day for the past 15 years of his life. The Thais are master at this. And they train specifically for clinch under Muay Thai rules so they'll most probably be better at standing clinch (Thai style) than most elite wrestlers.
@@thejoojoo9999 Ofc they are elite, its a theory, a maybe..
I'd get killed by any average Thai fighter. I'm talking about an elite fighter vs rodtang. Not a schmuck like myself.
Pound for pound rodtang beat almost everyone on earth in muay thai
he's too much of a beast lol
Its no wonder why these thai fighters have great conditioning. They run 10 km everyday while most western fighters think long steady state cardio is useless for fighting and replacing them with HIIT. Thai fighters have great stamina because of all those LISS, they have massive aerobic base.
Bruh u didn't added his kicks wtf???
You beat Rodtang by being Mighty Mouse
1st step :pray
2nd : you can't
Mighty Mouse: hold my cheese
Everyone has a Plan Until they get punched in the Mouth.~ Iron Mike Tyson
There is absolutley now way to Beat Prime Rodtang!
How do you beat a fighter with quicker reflexes
