I love a good hat anytime, but they are especially handy when my hair needs re-hennaing and/or won’t behave. Sticking a hat on overtop fixes most hair issues instantly! 👒🎩👑
As a milliner - the cloche is essentially a bonnet without ribbons. Loved the various versions you showed. My hair is showing my age - hasn't shifted to gray yet (my mother was gray before I was in school, always wore it short, bobbed, pixie... Born in 1915...)What my butt length long hair has done is let go, dropped out (I was born in 1949, so I suppose that should have been expected) and what's left barely comes to the middle of my back. I won't get the old lady cut yet - but the shorter, thinner hair means that all my cloches and most of my sun hats are now too large for me. I do love my hatpins (making them was part of the millinery business) but a hat loo large is a hat too large - as awkward as ill fitting shoes. So in the end I have embraced berets and taken to "thickening" my hair when I braid it by braiding a ribbon into it. More middle ages than 20th century, but it allows me to wear a sunhat with a hatpin. Thank you for the fashion show...
AWWW, loved Harold Lloyd! I have always liked the look of hats on other people. On myself it looks like I've slapped a mangy cat on my head. But I agree that the hairstyles where hair is showing under the hat looks the prettiest and most flattering. I thought the style with the side curls especially attractive.
Very nice. You look great in those hats. I have long frizzy hair that I must curl just to tame the frizzies. I do not look good in any kind of a hat. ☹But your video makes me want to try again.
Isn't it something that they're still making 1920s-style bucket or cloche hats today? But there's always something extra-special about the true vintage ones. That cream feathered hat with the mini veil was just lovely! By the way, I think facial expression is a key part of recreating a vintage feel, and when modeling your own looks, you got that 1920s smile just right!
I get them from a variety of sources. The brown cloche was just bought at the mall 15+ years ago (possibly at The Bay?), the cream one came from an antique store, and the red/black one I made myself from a 1920s pattern.

So pretty 😍. I wish these styles would come back in style. They were modest and elegant.

Berets and tams are great for those 'can't be bothered ' days

Where do you get your hats?

Such a fun video! ❤
Another great video
On occasion, I've seen women in cloches, with free-hanging hair and modern attire. Looks fine, where I stand.
